Girls S01E07
Dear ESWC,
Me and my teammates are really disappointed because of the lack of information for counter-strike 1.6 female. Also, the entrance fee is a BIG problem for us and the others active female teams like badGirls, OK.fe, szczelamy f hed, eSuba. Girls only have one definite tournament, and that tournament is ESWC. Now, we need to pay 1000$ if we want to participate. This makes our trip to France impossible. The teams which can pay for it are ALTERNATE, VirtusPro, M5, SK, ESC, probably Millenium and cybernation. But I’m sure they don’t like that too. We are not boycotting you, we are begging you to remove the entrance fee because ESWC is really important for us and we have all been waiting for it for so long. As I can see the tournament will be for 12 teams and I don’t know how many of the female teams have registered to participate in it but as I said I think that around 6 teams can pay for sure. Please, make that tournament as nice as last years and let us play it for free. If only 6 teams will go you better cut the female tournament and give everything to the males.
Ivelina, part of O+ female team.
sad..i think if you feel that you are talented enough then y not write a mail to your Government's sports department and discuss your plight. Its hard to find sponsors unless they see an opportunity for having some returns from their investment.

great suggestion... my suggestion would be to rob a bank. The ideas are certainly both equally good :/
gl :D
What's ESWC doing? They are charging to the teams whatever the partners had to pay before (1000 € per player plus the trip), because now there is no god who can get that amount of money and gave it to the French org, do you think that catch the ESWC rights was free?.
They have their business model (sucks) and that will not change, if the local partner does not pay that amount, then the player have to pay it. If teams like fnatic, Na`Vi or SK dont go to the event, then KerchNet, Lions or teams like these will go. They don't care about that... Hopefully they can rectify that policy.

DO YOU REALLY THINK THEY WILL REPLY TO THIS POST?
I think HellRose just expressing her and her teammates opinions. Well, to put it bluntly I think she's absolutely right, this is too stupid by ESWC, you do not need to be a rocket scientist to understand that this is too expensive for many, because a lot has to pay for the journey who is also quite expensive.
So that you comment in this way is too stupid in MY opinion, she makes an effort to be heard/seen something who is better than not to.

dude! see the reply to my comment! it clearly says NO? lol! if she is writing all this to the eswc then there should be some means by which they can see all this right?
Yes, I've seen what she has answeared you. The last part of what you just wrote to me, I don't understand a word.
She only expresses their opinions and make a small attempt to be seen, this is obvious as to why she should otherwise write this on HLTV.org? It only makes no sense :)

that "no?" it's sarcasm, I don't know if you get it
life is a bitch and what you gonna do :/.Damn ESWC this year what are they doing!Sad but i hope that you shall find that money somehow...You dont have any sponsor right ?
well, we just recieved a mail that our application has been selected by the ESWC organizing committee. now we have 7 days to pay the entry fee. impossible :'(
no sponsors atm.

1000€ is a lot of money. And they would still have to pay travel expenses.
Thank you captain obvious, however, 1000 euros aren't alot where I live, it's about what you pay for electricity, bills, etc.
So yeah.
So yeah.
It's just alot really. €1000 entrance, and we aren't even talking about the hotel and food.
may be you should sponsor them then? it is obviously not a big deal for someone who lives whr u live.
Not a big deal for you Big guy!
Not a big deal for you Big guy!
I'm 14 you idiot.
Sure, it's easy to get money here. But your logic is flawed.
And shit, trust me, I would sponsor them if I was done with my education and had money to support them with.

maybe you should ask your parents to teach you about economics. clueless spoiled kid is what you are.
shit bro.
flawed logic again!
tell me one swede that isn't spoiled.
also I'm second generation 'invandrare' now whatever you call that in english, a person who migrated from another country here or has parents from a different country. I live in the shittiest suburb of stockholm. Spoiled is NOT the correct term.

yet you claim 1k euro (9000 sek) isn't a lot of money as a fourteen year old.
flawed logic, you said?

I never said it's not alot as a fourteen year old.
I said as an adult.
But I could easily get 20K SEK over a summer if I worked.

20K sec is f#ck in euros.
and you would not spend halve of an entire summers earnings to go to france for a weekend playing a game right? you would rather spend it on a regular holiday in france to lay on the beach and go to clubs?
so wether the money is easily attained by them is not the point. I get they'd rather spend their own hard earned money on holiday/personal items/hobbies, than spend it all to be able to compete at ESWC.

:p
20k sek = 2000 Euro two teams to ESWC ;)
I know, I've been to sweden twice. he sais he makes it over a month or two, that is why I said that wasn't that much when you translate it to euros (later I read he was 14 years old, ofcourse it's easy for me to say it is not much for 2 months work as I work fulltime ;p)
I doubt that you would get 20k when you're only 14. :)
through working? yes I would.
in SEK that is.
in SEK that is.
20 000 SEK when you're 14? Just no :P
yes
and how?

It's all about money they wont care if the teams boycott them. Because ESWC takes money from sponsors.
I hope so you could make it without paying.
I hope so you could make it without paying.
i hope this is the last year ESWC is hosted as an event ... This became ridicilous and should vanish from the cs scene
i think you should look for the sponsors instead of writing a blog.this is pointless they will ,never reply to this.sad thing but u are not the only one who dont have sponsors.
i dont expect them to reply. i write it like its an email because even if u sent them a mail they dont reply. ALSO, we are LOOKING FOR SPONSORS all the time. im just disappointed and the blog is smth where i can write about it. and this is what im doing.
btw u can go to sleep insted giving me advices.

Maybe, you should approach them asking why there isnt a "Online Qualifier" similar to the Male event. (top4 get free entry, winner also gets hotel and breakfast).
They did this for the Male tournament, why not female ? One could nearly think that was sexist ;)

my thought exactly, i asked on fb page on announcement for the online quals , but they just dont answer cause obviously they don't care... They just don't even want to make an effort and answer us
why she would like to ask that?she know she will proly lose from sk female etc.
even if they do ? so what, why do u think WCG has 32 teams, why not just invite Sweden, Poland, Ukraine, i mean it's not like Australia or Greece has a good chance of winning....
Some people just play to do the best they can, and enjoy playing other countries.

new teams are not born winners, everyone should improve themselves by competing with better enemies.
so what if we lost from SK female ? There are prizes for first 4 places so i wouldnt mind and yeah , with pracc nothing is impossible for us cause we don't lack the skill ;)
GoMeZ hooker ;D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i agree but i also think that if there is a fml online qualifier it must be.. how to say.. its just smth that happen very often -> boys playing instead of girls. so u can never be sure even if you hear a voice etc. and when u know that ur playing for removing 1000$ for eswc.. i think that its possible someone to fake ;))
they just have to remove that fucking FEE and maybe make the prize lower?? dno..... but if the things stay like this im sure this eswc will be a big big fail
they just have to remove that fucking FEE and maybe make the prize lower?? dno..... but if the things stay like this im sure this eswc will be a big big fail
And what's the point in playing a FEMALE qualifier as guys? Showing up at the event with beards stating you're this female team that won the online-qualifiers? Or are you implying there will be teams that use guys to play under their names? Cause if you are, that would be ridiculous for any female team to do seeing you're all fighting for a separate league for males and females.

I don't think it's such an unlikely story Eric.
Let's say (fiction); Patrick f0rest Lindberg is desparate to get in Annete Cazzidy Skarseruds pants.
Sure he will play a qualifier for her on her account., and there goes team Cazzidy to Paris!
I just grabbed 2 random names to make a point btw, not intended offensively Pat/Annette

I know it's not an unlikely story, Rene, it's Erik btw. I'm just pointing out it's rather sad if the female teams, that fight for their own leagues and competitions would do such things. Would be rather ironic don't you think? Creepy how you know these names.

and yeah that is indeed a good point, thought you meant it didn't happen
It might be sad but it happens. Or at least it used to happen but I doubt it doesn't any more. That's why the online qualifications are never 100% sure for female-only tournaments.
just now read the creepy part :P unless you edited that in later ^^
the names kind of just stick with me, for most CS players, guess I have a good memory for them (which comes in handy when shoutcasting) . I just tend to mix up a few letters at times, like C and K ;D
disclaimer: spelling errors due to excessive amounts of alcohol!

its only unlikely if he's gay :D!
true that, or if he secretly has a GF already (but then rakaka would be all over it ;p)
Yeah make them cut the entrance fee but keep the same prize-money :))))))))))))))).
Dude I got a way better idea! Just give them the prizemoney and fuck the whole tournament! Play some cs from home! :)
Maybe you should look at it from a different way. What benefits ESWC more? 6 teams that are willing to pay 1000$ which equals 6000$ or 12 teams for free? End of discussion :)
eSport is a bussines and ESWC is a part of this. If organisers have a fee idea you can't do anything with that - pay or out.
After all it's sad when you wanna do something and you can't always beacuse of fucking money.
ESWC is the only female lan tournament during the year?

It's not going to work, I guess ESWC won't change the rules for a bunch of female CS teams.
I know my words ain't any helpful, but this is reality. The only thing I can come up with is this: http://www.terran.pl/blog/newsy/akcja-zbiorki-na-w.. Since it's in polish you won't understand it, but here is a brief explanation for you.
In 2009 in Poland qualifiers for WCG were held, but apparently there were no sponsors to send polish StarCraft: Brood War players to a tournament (meaning that even if you were qualified, you had to pay for a trip to China yourself). Polish SC:BW scene decided to run an action aiming to help qualified players pay for the trip to China - they asked other players for donations. Result? They gathered almost 19 000 PLN, which (by current exchange rate) is roughly 4000 euros. :-) The players send to China wore special t-shirts with nicknames of players who donated their cash.

that is great yes!Sk-ladies also did this years ago. But what is the chance to happen for us too and how many of you will give 1-2euros for that cause?
there are many who will come forward like me... do something .. :)
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclic.. here is the link for donations! thank u
I'm sure there will be enough ppl supporting you to collect that money or at least a part of it but in 7 days.. it's kinda mission impossible :/ Hope you find a sponsor on time and manage to take part in ESWC, it's a lot different when there's a BG team to cheer for :) gl!
so hard for u? when u know u can do serious dmg bt money plays spoilsport
it's hltv.org but not eswc.com
It's better to find a strong organisation, that will give the team /O+/ anything it needs.. And this is the first thing all of you should do..
It's almost like football .. Poor teams without strong orga at their back, can't play for example @ Champion's League .. :)
Hope to find it.. It's almost impossible, but .. :)
Best regards, inSeee

Not even trolling here:
1) All 5 of you get a job, 9-5 leaving you time to play cs in the evenings.
2) Average monthly pay is £850 after tax here, take this money and put it in your bank.
3) Invest the money in the LAN Tournament you want to go to.
4) Profit.
If you spend as much time working as you do writing useless blogs, you would be able to afford LANS all year

yeah , 3 of them studying , one is working for her own existence, expenses and school , i am almost bankrupt and jobs here are like 200 euros a month ... No one has the luxury to work and give all or even a part of the money for the fund of some LAN tour ... So no , that is impossible
Oh well, don't go to ESWC then. I'm sure there are 100 teams who would love to go to ESWC, but they can't....this is life

better idea; why don't you just win another begosu aim1v1 tourney? :P

You should've put up a donation page with the worst case scenario in mind the day ESWC news was out. It's too late for donations now.
Make sure you prepare hard and show up at all the local and online tournaments throughout the year. Keep ESWC 2012 and other tournaments as your goal. This buys you plenty of time not just to prepare but to hunt for sponsors as well.
As for ESWC 2011, sit back and watch it. You should start preparing for ESWC 2012 already, both financially and game practice. You're trying to chase something and you might end up losing what you already have.

for some of us , like me , this was the last chance to go to a LAN and make results ... That is why i am now retired and won't play competitive gaming anymore, but gl to those who would continue for the 2012 Edition
As much as I hate to see what your team has gone through, this is exactly what even the male teams go through in my country.
I'm not sure if you've given up on yourself or the people you have to depend upon for making it to tournaments, but if you girls have each other, that's all that matters to a team.
I'm not sure if you've given up on yourself or the people you have to depend upon for making it to tournaments, but if you girls have each other, that's all that matters to a team.
So instead of practising more and trying to compete with the male scene you just give up and go cry that you want people to throw money at you. With that attitude you will never get somewhere in life, sadly.
i just leave gaming cause of family issues and need to work to survive... indeed my attitude is poor and u better don't mess into some things u don't know ;)

We have probably been one of the most active female teams since last ESWC. If we were German or Swedish that would of been complete different scenario. Next year there wont be a female tournament I guess. The organizers lost the female attention years ago and there are not many teams left. Even the online cups disappeared. There is nothing left for the girls to keep them attentive and dedicated. Especially when there are such idiots in the forums who are refusing to grow up..but thank u for not being one of them.Cheers
Then ask the organizers next year whether a female team can play in a normal "male-tournament" if there wont be any female tournament next year. : p
I think you're bitter about the whole experience but it's a lesson learned. As far as cups disappearing is concerned, you don't need to attend cups organized by others but rather organize your own. The best job in the world is to work for yourself.
Charge registration fee for your online cup and run the show. Part of the registration fee goes to your team's piggy bank, some part goes into logistics while the other chunk is used to get prizes for the participants. No matter how small the prizes are, the intent matters the most.
Once you have enough, go for a LAN tournament or better yet, organize one. Keep your practice and money up.
I'm running my 6th cup in a row and I don't need any sponsors. Some of them were without any prizes!

yes it sounds good but thats it ;d why don't u make 1 cup for europe then. maybe u will have more success in that. we have very few lan events in BG and also we are not all from Bulgaria. So that is again expenses.
It was an idea to generate slow and steady income on your own rather than depending on donations. I was suggesting a means to organize smaller LANs based on registration fee to get your own money up.
Why would I make a cup for Europe when it's you who has to go to ESWC?
Why would I make a cup for Europe when it's you who has to go to ESWC?
just to check how many teams will sign up ;d Making a lan is hm lets say impossible, because nobody will pay a fee just to participate and not receive a good prize, also we need to hire the place/net cafe to do that. There are some possibilities to happen but that is like 2% :/
I'm talking about Local LANs. This is about getting you the extra money to attend future events. :|
Lol.. how do u define LOCAL? in my flat or what!!?!? it should be organized in a place with computers!!that costs money!Nobody will give his net cafe for free
Why did I even bother? I did mention a registration fee! That's how you pay for the cafe time or renting an online server.

I know what u mean but here the fee is 5/8BGN per player which is ~4euros.If there are 8-10teams the amount will be around 250bgn. To hire the cafe will cost 1,3BGN per hour per computer. If we take 2 servers that makes 10PC+1 server =11PC
11*1,3=14,3BGN per hr.The tournament will be at least 8hrs so 8*14,3=114,4BGN for the rent of PC. 250-114,4=135,6BGN left for prizes..and where are the money left? :))
This is why it is pointless.. but really thank u for the idea!

Why don't you play against men? You might not be great players now but by practicing with men you'll eventually improve.
And hostess like this one please !

reminds me of female only poker tournaments. more of a novelty than healthy competition.. one female tourney a year.. maybe two.. would be plenty for bragging rights/socializing.
aside from that period infested venue... you're just like any other team...actually...
female teams are generally a lot worse than guy teams because they refuse to consistently play in genderless tourneys. which is where the competition is at. otherwise, you'll never improve.
if you're so eager to stand out from the cs community -- stand out via skill/talent/practice.
