A legen fading away
Hello guys . I find some realy interesting articles about "one of the greatest Awping skills of all time" on MYM website.
Maybe not all of you are visit.. that website , so i share that articles with you , enjoy !
He is an extraordinary player with a good personality, a player who has won almost everything worth talking about and a player who changed your views on Polish Counter-Strike, a player you love or hate. He is Lukasz 'Luq' Wnek, a legendary Counter Strike player with one of the greatest Awping skills of all time.
It is very hard for me to write something about him, but why might you ask? Because when I started to take an interest in eSport, he was my idol. I loved his war screams in matches, his amazing AWP shots and victories, but I soon started to dislike him. I really don't know why, maybe too many losses during his time in the spotlight, maybe I disliked his manner, attitude and that he was just a starlet then. Now however is the time were I show my respect to him in this article, as an icon to the Polish and World eSports scene.

E-Sport career :
Lukasz is now 26 years old with his journey into eSports and Counter Strike starting 10 long years ago. "I was sitting at home suffering from pneumonia with nothing to do, so I started to play Counter Strike. Nobody held a positive attitude towards people who spent hours in front of the computer playing video games at that time." Luq said in one of his interviews. His first victory was at a local tournament named Poland Championship back in the 2001/2002's season under the name of a relatively unknown squad of Team Arcy. In 2004, Poland's most gifted and talented players decided to come together to create a new team that could challenge the world and that was the beginning of Team Pentagram. In 2005, Pentagram won the European Championship and in the next year claimed the World Cyber Games title. It must been a huge surprise for everybody because an unknown Polish squad suddenly became one of the best teams in eSport history.
2008 was a MeetYourMakers year, seeing the Poles win ESWC consecutively after amazing matches against estro and consistently Luq was kingmaker of the important matches. However, come November 14th 2008, one of the worst days in Luq's career unfolded as an official statement on the MYM site told us that Luq was removed from the team. But soon we got information that Luq was back. We don't know what happened during this period and in the official statement, Luq told us "It might be hard to understand what’s going on inside the team, however it was pretty normal for me. We had a lot of arguing and problems in those past 8 years of playing, but there's one thing that made us stick together - it's CS. And I have no bad feelings towards the team at all. It's time to look forward and we will work very hard to get back on top. I would like to thank all who supported me at this time - it meant a lot for me and made me stronger for sure." However, I believed that it was just the beginning of Luq and his teammates troubles. Five months later the old MYM went bankrupt and they had to find a new organisation, thus they began to sport the tag of Wicked eSports, then the infamous Vitriolic Gaming. At WCG 2009 Grand Finals, where they did incredible things, but more about that later, they played without team. Now the ex-MYM players are playing for Frag-eXecutors, but without Lukasz.
Lots of us wondered why their views diverged? A king's ransom to whoever who know it, because we still don't have any official interview or statement from Luq himself. I also asked him about it but he refused to answer. So many people began to speculate. Some say that Jaroslaw 'Pasha' Jarzabkowski is the better player which led to Luq being kicked, others think that he just quit playing CS for more personal reasons. The last hypothesis is that Lukasz had been quarreling with his teammates all this time and this is the reason why they kicked him from the team. He had bad relationship with his teammates and now they decided to compete without him. Which version is true? I hope we will hear some news soon.
Why do I love him ? :) I really enjoyed his war crys in crucial parts of matches. He was always determined and he fought as brave as a lion. He never gave up in any match. Maybe he didn't kill a lot of opponents during the matches but any of his Frags were key to the victories his team achieved. He always got some frags in deciding moments of a match. Everybody remembers his duels verus NiP.zet in WCG 2006 Finals in Monaza and against mTw.Sunde at IEM III. Below is the video of the highlights.
Ending :
It's unlucky that most of you don't know how to speak Polish as Luq has taken part in many internet TV shows and has shared some very wise words. He's a great person and I hope I will have chance to talk with him face to face one day.
To sum up, I conclude that Lukasz 'Luq' Wnek was a great player and I hope that the fans and I will never forget him. Maybe Luq will come back to Counter-Strike like a Polish SpawN? Only time will tell. So please stay tuned on myMYM.com and read all my news on the Polish scene.
I asked Nina 'Greeny' Omelchenko, the most beautiful female Counter Strike Queen and person who really good know Lukasza. Enjoy it!
Nina 'Greeny' Omelchenko:
My English not so good to pass the emotions in relation to this person. I can tell only he is very good person, so cheerful. I know his the last 3 years, and each time fills to me emotions positive. Somebody dont like him, maybe because they envy ?! In any case I will be always glad to see him, and I hope he will be back in world cybersports!!!!!!
LUQ WE WILL NEVER FORGET ABOUT YOU!

Great blog as well as great player. I'm sure like many he will return, if not for a breif instance as I'm sure many will enjoy seeing that. It can be argued he and some from MYM had their fair share of unprofessional conducts, in and out of game (like the moment mentioned above against Sunde), but really nobody is perfect and nobody should really hold him to that. I never really thought he was the greatest player out there but he isn't one to forget I'll give him that much. Best of luck to him, and once again great read. :)
Lukasz 'Luq' Wnek is a legend in his own right, with countless numbers of victories in some of the worlds most prestigious eSports events, from taking Gold at the ESWC Grand Finals for two consecutive years under MYM and PGS to victories at the WCG under the team names of PGS and AGAiN. Sadly however, all good things must come to an end and the Golden Boy Wnek after 10 long years has hung up his mouse and retired from professional eSports.
What makes the video so cool that everybody should watch it? give me 42 seconds of my life back. ty
That video ,is not for show skill .

Nice one.
were you crying when you wrote it ?
When one of the Estonian legend players will retire und you will write an article ´bout him and his eSport biography I promise you, that I´ll ask you the same dame question..
So is that a yes or a no?
Firstable it wasn´t me, who wrote this article. Secondly, yodawg´s question was just a cheap irony, which was supposed to dissrecpect the author.
Very good effort..I liked reading it :)
No wonder they were called golden five
No wonder they were called golden five
In my opinion, FX will never be the same without LUq, he was for sure what this team needed.
This article bring memories back :) For sure he was key player in FX, but I'm not talking about his skill (which for sure is huge), but about motivation he was giving to team during matches, all his screeming and even insulting during matches were hilarious, but what is more important gave what team needed in that time
It worked as you can see in achivements.
What is more, he didnt leave esport. He is working for XLBet at FragTime Tournaments

nice arcticle :)
nice arcticle :)
Hmm.. I´d say that´s the favourite word of the most Poles.. :D
GJ man. I was really upset , when i heard that LUq was making a retirement...
Very nice read. I'm also a huge fan of Lukasz, this article remains me a lot from my past connected with e-sport.
For sure, he wasn't the most skilled player but, one of the most CHARISMATIC character!
Hope to see you back on stage!

To be honest, I didn´t expect to hear those words from you. Agreed.
IMO he's a bit like Spawn. A legend, but everyone else has moved on and his time's come. Personally, I do not think that MYM/Pentagram/FX will ever be a top team again. That being said, I wish they proved me wrong.
yeah def not the most skilled player or craziest awper but always played his role in the victories.
Alongside with neo, my favourite polish player and one of the best awpers to ever play this game. Very charismatic player, the KURWA legend, hope to see him back in FX. Really miss those crazy fnatic vs FX games :>
This 42 sec youtube movie is funny for me :P Anyway LUq is a apw legend, he had really the devil awp skill. Hope he will to FX soon. GOLDEN5 REMAKE!
i can proudly add to this saying, luq had been my inspiration and my favourite player/awper. i first started watching matches because of him. i even remember 1 round where he charged fnatic in a 1v5 at train innr base and got 4 and carn saved. i dont remember when this happened, but these were some of his remarkable frags. From then on, i liked neo too, but when he was booted, really shocked me, and i've ceased from being a die hard AGAiN supporter anymore, with neo not performing as well.
fav player.
LUq my idol ... His AWM skill is amazing ... =)
Cool story. I liked all them guys. I started to know the game a little bit at that time. Ofcourse like most of us, i liked team-pentagram alot.
I don't remember that much detail but what I remember was, when the new taz line-up got presented without Luq everybody was kinda unhappy about this :P
