CS:GO - Are you serius?
CS:GO - Are you serius?
As a part of this community, I was very exsited back in the August last year, when Valve announcement CounterStrike:GlobalOffensive. I was thinking "YES! This is what we need, finaly". Since then, I've been following progress of this game and I've always had thought "It's Valve, they're going to do it right". In the last few months,I realised that Valve didnt do much about this game,at most of the time they were standing in one place.
In last weeks Whisehunt started to do that videos about recoil and also Valve (or HPE,neverimind) started to updating it. I thought "Finaly".
But few days ago I've got a beta key from my friend, he gave me his steam acc to test it.What I'm going to say right now maybe isn't opinion of all CS players, but I think it is of the most. That game is absolutly TERRIBLE in every aspect, from the classic CS player point of view.I just dont know where to start,so I wont write much about I will just say that everything that lurppis said is true.Everthing in that game is so random. You dont need any skill, just a better gun then your opponent and you are goint to kill him 99% (other 1% is a luck). There is nothing in that game that would make you to say "God I love CS".
All of this may not be a problem,if there's no people who want to make this game new big competitive CS. They are saying something like "Lets we all stand behind this game and it will become big,and we're all be happy" Well, guess what. No it wont! Community doesn't create game, game creates community. People play game because they love it,not because they are forced to do it. Maybe when CS:GO comes there will be a few events to support it, but we all know it where is it going...
CS2 - Hope?

"That's what Counter-Strike is: a game of skill. And this is what CS:GO is: an effort to put anyone who has or should play Counter-Strike into the same game. That's a big enough goal but not a grand enough one to merit the name Counter-Strike 2." This is qoute of Chet Faliszek , one of the top guy from Valve. Full interview tinyurl.com/6acpdfq
Before saying anything, read this article by Schyper tinyurl.com/3rpqkyl .I think CS2 is our only hope to play good competitive FPS for another 10 years.

CS:GO will be sucsess, belive or not, i see that you played this game a little bit and you didn't like it.I guess that you will need some time to adapt, after all this game can be fixed. It's far far away from perfect, but if we try to help to upgrade this game, it can be very good and playable. In this moment game is fast and funny, with more updates it will become better and better after every update.Afterall sponsors are crucial factor of game sucsess, if they like it we can do nothing about it....
True. There`s nothing more to add. To become a success, CS:GO need a time!
do you want to bet this game will be a HUGE fail? let's bet
btw, agree with you, CS:GO is crap at this point. The recoil is just all WRONG, they nailed the recoil in cs 1.6 PERFECTLY! it was as close to real life as possible, but in CS:GO its just crap..
My thoughts: CS:GO will fail if Valve do not take advice from CS 1.6 PROS not only some source dudes.
My thoughts: CS:GO will fail if Valve do not take advice from CS 1.6 PROS not only some source dudes.
so u have used an m4 and ak in real life and sprayed people down.... ok i believe u....
haha! +1 bro :D
well not people, but i have used them. and the recoil is correct, not like in cs:go you shoot with a deagle all you're bullets are pretty much where you want them to be, and there is no recoil, but in real life.. ohhh don't ask.
old news dude.
Only what they need to do is to change movement and recoil to the same as in CS 1.6, and the game will be better and better, end.
+1 you don't need any tactic/skill in CS:GO its just a run,shoot and kill game ..
"Community doesn't create game, game creates community."
So true! It`s hard for us to accept it, but cs:go will work absolutely different. I hope, that developers will be modifying it as long as possible, and after few mounths it will be "quite" playable game (it means that it will be "quite" similar to CS 1.6 :)).
Message to haters:
The only chance for CS:GO is us - community. Due to it, let`s try it before we will hate it! It`s sick, that there are triply more haters than beta keys! Give it a chance!

Sorry mate, but I think the only ones who still believe in this game are the ones who dont have beta key. :(
Maybe.... I haven`t got a beta key, So maybe I believe in GO because of it. But look... it will be totally new game. You expect, that it will be CS 1.6 with better graphic (to make sponsors happy).
When people saw the first CS, thay said "No, it`s shit. I prefer Quake". Then that people were playing following versions of it. With GO it will be similar. Now we think that GO is flop, but later... who knows? I hope that GO will inherit 1.6 and source community and that it will be successor of 1.6.
Maybe I`m wrong and it might be because of my sympathy to changes. Let`s stop speculating... my fault, sorry :D

Stop post stupid thread like this. The game is cool, it's not 1.6 - yea, but do your really need just 1.6 with only new textures? Just take a look at promod, it's terrible. It's the wrong way. We need a new game, with old conception, and we will get it, just wait.

CSPromod is awesome. Stop talking bullshit. If you just want a new game with two bombspots and one bomb, play COD.
CSP looks like a piece of shit. It's like a very mutilated CS:S, it is not playable. About COD...I'll play in what i want, and you do not tell me what i need to do ok? You don't like GO? Ok do not play in this, VALVe didn't close CS 1.6 servers, so u can play in 1.6 forever, it's so goddaminpretty easy.
CSP looks way better than CSS and they are revamping the maps, the models and the weapons. Just wait.
The gameplay is awesome and very close to 1.6. If you don't like it, you can't like 1.6 either.
And I didn't say anything about CS:GO.
"We need a new game, with old conception". What conception? Two bombspots and one bomb?

Did I mention I want 1.6 with better graphics? No. I just shared my personal opinion, but it's opinion of the most community.
For CSPromod part, LOL. CSP is by far better then CS:GO but problem with CSP this isn't ~2007 and they dont have big "names" behind it to make it popular.

CS 1.6 with a new graphic - it is opinion of the most community here, and in Soviet Russia too.
promod is not shit. it feels 95% to 1.6, it's getting better after each update and tweeks, and it's almost about of beta. sure it took 5 years to get where it's at, but that's because the game is coded by a hand full of programmers who do it on their FREE time. they don't get paid to do it! they do it because they love CS. people who bash it saying that they're slow probably have never experience process development work in their life. others who says it sucks probably never touched the game. and the source engine is a very powerful engine. In cspromod with their tweaked netcodes, I am able to play cspromod in servers with 200ms ping and not lag. Do you understand the significance of this? think about how it will unite different players from around the world. cspromod players will finally be able to play online against players from other countries and not lag. i live in the US and play on servers in europe with NO lag. the only lag is the death animation which is due to the source engine, but the csp programmers found a potential fix. If promod ever gets the recognition it deserves, it will be big.
What they do - is commendable, but it's look like just a MOD for CS:S, it's doesn't sense like a FULL game for me.

The truth is:
CSP is coded from scratch.
The CSS content is only used for testing and gets removed bit by bit; the final version should be CSS-free.

Why are people pinning hopes on CS2, if CS:GO fails, I would imagine CS2 will not happen anytime soon (I would imagine most likely a 10 year gap).
You really want to risk the future of CS with hating CS:GO?
You really want to risk the future of CS with hating CS:GO?
If cs 1.6 Dies, more than a half of community will quit the franchise. including me.
LOL!
Games can't live forever, you expecting it to continue growing over your lifetime or something?

Yes.
lol naive
No.
Right, so in the 12 years 1.6 has been around, it's numbers have been gradually falling, you are now expecting a difference in the trend?
You want me switch to your fucking source? Fuck off from this site!!!
The game is bad in all aspects, maybe it will be good on PS3 only, but on PCs, Battlefield and CoD series still 10x better. CS 1.6 has the addiction factor on level AAA+, CS:GO have C-
there will be CS 2 or not?
:(
:(
According to lurppis, "CS 2.0" will also suck.
shit! :( where he said that?
New CS is a future and I think that ESL, ESWC and others will change 1.6 for GO
ESL its gonna die soon as the WCG
You just need a better gun than your opponent? That also applies to CS 1.6?
so i can kill neo if he has deagle and i have m4 99% of the time?
So... You're saying that in CS:GO you can kill Neo 99% of the time if he has an inferior weapon? What the fuck are you on about?
Looks like you people still don't understand the meaning of the word "beta."
They've been updating cs:go fairly regularly. Instead of whining on forums about how bad it is, why don't you actually provide some constructive criticism?
Also, anything lurppis says is to be taken with a grain of salt. Kid cries about everything.

I played Counter-Strike when it first came out as version 1.0, started to play it more constantly around 2006 and i that consider myself an old 1.6 fan has to admitt that this game is becoming better and better. I played it when the beta first came out and the dirfference now is huge, i think this game will be awesome!
I hate liars like you. You are 18 now? So you started playing CS when you were 6 years old? Seems legit.
What's wrong with a 6 years old kid playing CS? Better than lots of dump-head adults who always trying to cover their ignorance.
Did you really ask "what's wrong with a 6 years old kid playing CS"?
...oh yes, you did. No comment on this.
But that wasn't my point anyway. My point was: He never played 1.0.

I don't think he is a liar. He seems to be honest about his age in the profile and he did not troll either. The way he writes is very mature too, so I think he means it, not like those guys who posted craps not care whether people can read it or not. I feel you disagreed with him, having found that he is 18 before posting a reply. If it were 28 you found in his profile, I guess you would not answer the same way.
Of course I wouldn't have wrote this comment if he would be 28. But that's exactly the point.
I don't believe he started playing CS in the age of 6 and he only used this lie to make is opinion about CS:GO "more valid". It's just disrespectful to all us people who really started playing CS at this time.

OK, nice to see lie haters like you.
I tried the box with HL, Counter-Strike and Blue-Shift when it came out :) Maybe i was 6 or 7 i dont really remember, but i do know that a new game is needed to save the dying 1.6 scene.
EDIT

there was an update today, most of the guns got a buff. the first few bullets are more close packed, less random spread. Meaning, we can finally burst 4 shots. we can also tap 5 shots and be accurate. game got alot better!
I hope that every patch for GO is step forward and not like one step forward two steps back, like many games even up today does that stupid mistake. Wasting your time to make even more people unsatisfied, seems legit...
Even valve said that this is not Counter Strike 2. Half of the community thinks this game gonna change esports but actually read some news before writing anything stupid
this game suck$
i dont think about it as next counter-strike, but another new game and it is not that bad actually, and lot of my friends was sayin its shit all the time till they try it and now they play it more than other games..ofc, valve has still alot to do. but people, before you start sayin how this game sucks, try it and try not to compare with cs 1.6 or source, please.

the game is not bad... its fun.... but to think abt playing competitively, i dun think it will happen anytime soon.....
Unbelievable.
I thought this game was total crap.
It is worse than that.
Recoil is ridiculous.
It reminds me of water pistols at the beach.
Have you ever played HL ?
HL 2 ? CS 1.5 ? CS 1.6 ?
You understand.
I am not even sur my 8 year olld kid would like it
and prefer it to Mario Kart.
Atmosphere (compare to Condition Zero) haas been lost. Even terrorists do not seem very fit and shoul first go for weight watcher training camp.
Play Aztec on Condition Zero and compare.
When rain falls in Aztec/Condition Zero, there is a small amount of vapor due to heat. Art.
No match.
I will uninstall this CS GO game this evening.

for those of you who are lazy to click the source link above to the article below. here is the sneak peak.
Valve had expected the 2004 Source version of the game to replace the previous year's 1.6 iteration, itself a successor to a game that had been evolving since the late 90's. But many of 1.6's most ardent fans, including those who played it competitively, as a sport, resisted the Source version. Source "didn't do what we thought it would do, but we weren't disappointed about what it did," Magal said. "We thought Counter-Strike: Source would replaced Counter-Strike 1.6 but instead it generated a community just as large as the 1.6 community on its own."
Faliszek called it "an amoeba-like split."
GO is supposed to bring those crowds together and rope in console players who have only had an original Xbox version to choose from. Valve also assumes it has lost some computer Counter-Strike gamers who have moved away from PC gaming and wants to reach them on the consoles those gamers may have moved to (fittingly, the PS3 version of the game will even include mouse and keyboard support; and all players on PS3/PC/Mac will be match-made against each other.)
The Valve guys describe two of the goals for GO as lowering the skill floor—making it easier for newbies to have fun with game, hence the casual mode—and raising the skill ceiling—making meaningful, subtle changes to maps and mechanics that only pro-level players will notice and appreciate.
Valve is not trying to necessarily turn GO into an e-Sport. "That requirement doesn't exist," Magal said. "If it happens, that's nice." They do want to make sure those highest-level players can enjoy GO, though, so Valve is launching a PC beta for the game in October and having what Magal calls an ongoing "dialogue" with hardcore CS players "to fix the things that everyone agrees is an issue." For example: "The way the smoke grenades used to work in Counter-Strike: Source. We changed the rate at which it blooms and dissipates and everyone preferred it." And another example, also from Magal: "The maps Dust and Aztec aren't played competitively at all because they were so imbalanced in Source. We feel very bullish on changing them, so we did. Dust 2 is a wonderfully balanced map that we didn't need to change. We just gave it a visual upgrade."
And then there are the Halo and Call of Duty gamers out there, the FPS hordes who may wonder why a new Counter-Strike is at all relevant to them. What's the appeal of CS:GO for that crowd who already have plenty of first-person shooting to do in their favorite series? CS may have sold 25 million copies already (according to Faliszek), but Valve might still have trouble pulling those folks from their beloved franchises. What's a CS have to offer those people?
Magal describes the essence and value of CS in one word: skill. "I think where Counter-Strike differentiates itself is what impact skill has on your success."
It's the way skill factors into a CS match that makes it feel different from other shooters, Faliszek added. "It's clean. You died because you made the wrong choice." He explained that beginner CS players tend to use lots of grenades, but that veterans don't since it is "super-easy" to kill a player who is holding one. "There's not a lot of spam in there," he said. "There are a lot of clean kills. Most kills are gun kills. And it's about, 'Oh I didn't check that corner before I entered this room. I made the bad choice of trying to defuse the bomb before clearing the area. We rushed around this corner and we got ambushed.' It's always about making those kinds of decisions and not about, ‘Oh man, why did I die? What the hell? That's bullshit kind of thing."
"A small difference in skill between two players, the impact of that on the game will be accentuated," Magal said. "My experience in other games is that's not the case."

If valve can't Get_Right counter-strike, they are really bad developers.
Counter-strike needs 1.6 movement and size scaling, 1.6 sound, and a blend of the graphics from all 3 games.
Maps need to be more like quake maps, in the sense that you can strafe against walls without getting stuck on a crack due a non-functioning door for decoration, no more of this edgy catchy bullshit.
Aim / recoil needs to be like 1.6, and they need to make it register well online.
Sounds pretty do-able.
