I think have a heart disease
Since past few days I have been experiencing a lot of pain and weird feeling in my left chest and arm. I have been experiencing some weird veins contraction and blood circulation in my left arm and heart since a week.I also feel some pain in my left side of my chest when I smoke. I have been having these symptoms for years but they werent so strong back them. I have researched a bit online and all my symptoms match those of a cardio-vascular disease. Also I have a family history of cv disease.
The thing is that I am afraid to take the test not because I am afraid of the disease or dying early. I just think that if I get diagnosed with some major ailment then I would have to give up all the things I love ie sports and partying. I have been boxing for a while and have started training for mma recently. I am training intensely but these symptoms get stronger while exercising and I am afraid if I really have some disease then I would have to give up everything that I love. Its really depressing to think that I will have to give up things I love at the age of 22.
I just want to know that anyone here has or knows somebody that has any heart disease. Please share your experience if possible.

Get yourself checked. The sooner these things get diagnosed, the better it is. You're 22 and educated. Drop that stupid smoke stick already.

Lol, drop teh drama, seriously. I've had the same symptoms and I think almost every smoker gets them every now and then. Quit smoking, keep boxing and you'll be alright. The doctor will tell you the same + some medicine, probably.
I feel magnificently after I gave up smoking, no problems with heart whatsoever.
P.S. there are dozens of different cardio-vascular diseases, it's not ONE disease.

You are so right, people in here have no clue what they're talking about. Serious heart diseases are VERY, VERY rare at this age.

How you didn't got addicted?
I smoke since 13 and now I'm 16, I wanted to stop and always smoked less and less. From 2 packs a day to 1 pack of 10 every 3-4 days. I can't last 1 week without smoking.

dont know, i think its my body, who dont like cigarets badly, because i had realy hard to start smoking, always after one cigarate i felt bad, but now my body is used to it, and nothing happens can smoke a lot, but still i dont get addict to it, maybe if i start smoke pack a day ofcourse i would get addict, but i think my health can take max 10cigarates a day or i will get sick
i have it to , and i only smoke sometimes , i use to have it before i started smoking , its something normal , dont go panic

Ive been having pains in the exact same places as you for almost a year and a half. It started as I increased my smoking more. The thing is, smoking can cause heart disease. But first and foremost stop smoking. Or at least stop smoking a lot. I cut back and they stopped and just recently I started smoking a pack a day again and they came back.
Rule out your biggest possibility first and you should still get to a doctor just to make sure anyway. These things are very treatable.

Get it checked out for sure man, you have nothing to lose by doing so and everything to lose by not doing so. Otherwise deal with it and live with it not knowing if it was/is serious or not.
You said something about that you are afraid of doing the test because you are worried you might die early and that you are afraid of the disease, well guess what:
Taking the test = Knowing how serious it is, and worst case scenario (which I highly doubt) that you die early, then atleast you will know approx. how early and or if it can be avoided.
Not taking the test= Not knowing if it is serious, and worst case scenario, dying early without having a chance to get it checked and maybe saving your life?

Haha, funny, how this post, which is the only one that makes any sense in this ridiculous thread, is notoriously ignored. Maybe he should ask Dr. Gregory House. You're right, unless it's lupus... :D

you obviously know shit about medicine
can maybe be Costochondritis which is feel similar to heart attack feel but it doesn't actually mean anything as it is harmless apart from the pains and docotr and science do no know why it is happen ... that being said it could be heart attacks so to speak so be careful and don't put burger in ur mouth :))
Maybe they can treat you, go to specialist!
Thats cool. You know, girls go crazy when they meet a boy with heart disease
You should never check online medicine information.
Go to the doctor ASAP.
I started getting knee pains last year. Left it until it was too late and now my knee is completely fucked. Had to stop both tennis and skiing, for good. And I used to love both. Artificial joint in 10-15y time.
Yeah, it fucking blows. Had I gone earlier they might have been able to patch it up, so don't waste any more time.

You took an arrow in the knee ?
Go for a checkup ASAP dude. Most health problems are related to the way of living and usually go away when active changes are made. Stop smoking , exercise moderately , eat healthy , party less or maybe drink less and get plenty of rest everyday.
You need to stop smoking and go to a doctor ASAP.
My dad have the same thing and his doctor says he need to stop smoking, drinking coffe and eat some pills.
You may have cancer aswell dude. Since you smoke its possible.
Hopefully everything will be better dude. Never give up hope!

Dude, listen very carefully to me. I experience the same symptoms as you I think. Pain in the chest, ribs, stomach area, ... Two years ago I had my heart tested as well because it was often beating irregular. The doctor said to me that I didn't have to worry, he said it was not bad. 'Too many' heartcells for examples can cause these pains. You can of course visit a doctor but don't panic yet, it's not necessary.
My mother have a cancer and 3 doctors was checking up my mother...so...the 2 doctors say to me that my mother will stay in life 6 or 12 months more and thats all! but the third doctor says to me that my mother will come again and again to him because she will stay alive but he told me i have to make my mother thinking possitive!because the food for the cancer is the STRESS ( forgive me for my english ) so i realize there is a HOPE!i help my mother to be better! Now its a miracle if you think possitive! cause i am really sorry about your problem but pls dont sit there and say i have a problem! say to your self i AM OK! and put a smile on your face and say yes to life! Its pass 6 years allready and my mother shes ok! why not you too? If someone really love you he or she will be there for you! all the best to you my friend...be happy as much you whant! this is a good example to make you stronger!
Exercise, stop smoking and drinking and eat healthy and you will get better hopefully :)
Wish you all the best!
Wish you all the best!
get yourself diagnosed or quit smoking and check if your syntomps stay or not.
Stopped reading when I saw "when I smoke."
What do you expect to happen bro? Squats and Oats are the answer here.

don't quit anything you love, We all live only one time on this earth, and quiting things you love, to add a few years is not worth it. And yeah, you should get diagnosed.

its nothing :)) don't worry! most of those pains are common to the biggest part of the human population..I have those pains 5-6 years now. You get those pain if you drink, smoke, party a lot or if you increased the amount of those mentioned above the last days. I also get those pains when i smoke after the gym hehehe..So nothing to worry about :) but if it is sticking in your head that you have a heart disease you should visit your doctor for some tests. but don't worry at all just forget about it and carry on with the things that you do in your life
It does seem that you have other problems to take care first.
If you finally decide that your health is important then I can give you some tips to get better. Otherwise if your willingness to accept change is low then it's useless.

I know how it feels. I am trying hard to quit smoking. But i dont think your lungs will be that damaged as u r physically very active due to boxing. go to doctor, it must be some gas problem (I know it doesnt make sense to cause any pain in the chest and arm, but it does,.. hmm wierd)
The best hope i can give you is.. Virtus.Pro LeX .. He has heart problems. many times he was taken to hospital during tournaments. But he is always back to rape !

To a doctor asap :) I'm hope nothing serious will come out of it but do keep us updated.
If you have some bigger problems, sooner can be diagnosed, more chance to live normal life.
Attendances of cardio-problems nowadays are quite good many problems can be cured completely.
Go to the doctor as soon as possible!!!

I dont smoke but a year back I started having these pains on the left side of the chest around the heart . It was like a stabbing pain when i used to breathe hard and mostly happened like once or twice a day. When it continued for a week I started worrying.
I did some research on the net and found this -> http://forums.bettermedicine.com/showthread.php/24..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precordial_catch_synd..
My symptoms were exactly the same and so I was quiet relaxed . Dint go to the doctor and shit got cured by itself within a month.

Have an ECG taken. Have a doppler echocardiography done to exclude some congenital valvular disease. Think about this pain you're experiencing : is it sharp or dull? heart-associated pain is often felt behind your breastbone as a visceral and dull pain and can't be exactly localized, often radiates. Is this pain superficial or deep? You may be experiencing precordial catch syndrome (look it up on wikipedia). Is this pain bound to breathing? Do you experience shortness of breath? If yes, is it upon expiration or inspiration? You may as well have some respiratory disease. Any temperature elevation? What do you mean by "weird vein contraction and blood circulation"?
In my opinion, there is only a little chance that you suffer a cardiovascular disease in your age. You said that you have family history of CV-diseases so there is a possibility of having some congenital valvular disease, although very small. My guess would be psychogenic / respiratory pain, although I don't possess enough anamnestic data to evaluate your health status. Basically make sure you don't listen to those "doctors" in this thread, they're mostly kids watching House MD. I study general medicine and I'm in 4th year , just to know.

Go to a good doctor.Let him perform all the tests. If there's something wrong then they might just fix it.You might be able to do all your activities once again.Who knows?
Just remembered this one.
A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE!

Just type any common symptoms on the internet and you'll find that you have a cancer of something...
Just go to the doctor, it's probably a little thing but it can get worst the more you wait.

stop smoking... u have to take care of your body or it fails
Why is that the topic creator seeking stupid advice and telling imba story pops up with a thread and then run away? 70+ comments already and the TC is nowhere to be seen. lol
he probably went for a smoke & collapsed right there ^^
OT: I dont know what is sadder, the fact that you are getting chest pains at such an early age or that you feel the need to ask opinions of random ppl on online forums regarding something so critical.
Last year only a friend of mine who did B.Tech. with me passed away due to heart attack (age 23). He was not a serious smoker (smoked only with booze), not a fast food junk-eating fatass & never had suffered any major chest pain before. The point is you dont fuck around with your health.
Good luck!

i hope he is with a doc :-D
It will be still there if you didnt diagnosed the disease. So its better to know.
Go straight to a doctor.
Go straight to a doctor.
I went to the cardiologist and did the ecg test. Doctor told me that I have no heart issues and after examining my cervical spine x-ray he told me I had spasm and a little bit nerve damage. He told me the pain was mostly due to my overtraining (2-3 times a day),chain-smoking and insomnia. He told me to take rest, give up smoking and prescribed a few medicines. I have slept a lot during last few days and I am feeling a lot better.
keep it up and gl !
I know someone who has a heart disease (only since about a few months though), and she did not let it get to her, but fought on. 3 weeks ago she walked the Olympic torch
so take the damn test, and if it's positive, fight it head on.
Doesn't have to be the end of your life (as you know it).

that could very well help, but surely taking the test won't hurt?
what I mean to say is even if he gets diagnosed with heart problems, it doesnt have to mean he will have to give up living the life he loves. just maybe edit his lifestyle abit, and that even some good may come out of it!
