Tomi,please read with translat.
is it true that next year iem won't feature 1.6?
No, IEM didn't post anything saying such a thing. My bet is that they will probably keep 1.6 as it has the largest audience in the CS titles.

I hope someone from ESL or ESWC is reading this.
1.6 humiliated CSS in ESWC 2011, just look at those spectators numbers:
http://i56.tinypic.com/mvpvlc.jpg
So, CSS is obviously out of the list, and CS:GO is a HELL lot more like CSS than 1.6, and it is getting bad feedbacks from players and pro-players already. And its not even out.
If you want to keep a Counter-Strike title, it should be obvious (and there is evidence for it) that 1.6 is the best competitive version with the larger audience.

Such a great motivational blog, good job :D
In my opinion IEM6 WC will be the best event in the history of 1.6, and YES I have seen CPL's and ESWC's.
This is my opinion. This is the strongest team list I have ever seen in the game. And the skill level today is far higher than it was back then, CS evolved. In my opinion the top4 team in this event would probably beat the top1 team in the CPL time.
Also, the prize money is GREAT.
Can't wait for it!
AND I fucking love JOE MILLER!

"the most viewed CS version"

What a fail.
1.6 had many many more viewers then CSS, including the streams too.
Source didn't even make 8K viewers in the streams. You can check the numbers here:

Post #111:
"ESWC 2011 Finals
CS 1.6 -> 50,000 spectators
CS:S -> 7,000 spectators
Thats the number you get when you add HLTV + streams and SourceTV + streams."

There is a strong e-mail chain about it going on. Received this in jan/2012:
*********************************
I'm here to expose the facts, not to tell you what to do.
I am sure you have your own statistics too, so you must know about it already.
ESWC 2011 is over now, and this is the number of ingame viewers from CS1.6 and CS:Source tournaments.
http://i56.tinypic.com/mvpvlc.jpg
Its really a fact that CS 1.6 had much more viewers than CS:Source in ESWC 2011.
Also, CS 1.6 was the main game of ESWC 2011, reaching a total of 50,000 spectators (ingame + streams), as you can see here.
http://i53.tinypic.com/25kl8q8.jpg
All of those numbers are legit and correct.
You can check them any time you want.
Here is one way to check the numbers: Download 1.6 and CSS demos from ESWC 2011 Grand Final, and you will see those exact numbers.
When it comes to competitive Counter-Strike, the 1.6 version is the only way to go.
I'm not telling you to do anything, its your money after all, I am just showing you the facts (and you probably, already know about it).
You decide what to do with them.
Best Regards,
Valve * J

i'm not sure if IEM will use cs 1.6 or cs:go, but i can tell you that there is a whopping 0% chance of them using cs:s - sorry to burst your bubble.
gogogo
is really funny to see all this kids saying that CS 1.6 is a dead game. " this is last year of CS 1.6 " etc,etc... Blah, Blah...we have a lot the tournaments this year.
maybe this game gonna survive 2 o 3 year more

Go Go Go IEM6
Go Go Go IEM6
CSS > cs 1.6
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED
Lets look at the facts / scene news:
---------
-WCG picked 1.6 in 2012
-ESEA kicked CSS in 2012
-ESWC was a disaster for CSS in 2011, horrible numbers, very low audience. They will probably stick to 1.6 this year, and kick CSS.
-IEM is all for 1.6, because of its huge audience, and IEM6 WC will be a huge success.
-IGC 2012 replaced CSS with 1.6
----------
