AEC Malaysia
Hola folks!
I just finished work for the day so before lunch, a few hours to kill before heading home to finish packing and then going to the airport to fly out to Kuala Lumpur, I figured I would write a quick blog about the Asia E-Sports Cup's Malaysian qualifier that I will be attending this weekend in the nation's capital at Invasion Cyber Zone.
It's supposed to be a sixteen team tournament but so far eight teams have signed up, including Hybrid who have attended some WCGs in the past and a mixteam featuring players (e.g. izzatrstp who is a HLTV.org user) from other top Malaysian team Orange, StrykerX from TitaNs and insanity who has attended a WCG and KODE5 with Indonesian teams. I think we have a fair shot at winning, but since I'm no expert on the scene it's hard to tell how we will fare. I hope there will be some close matches and that I get to play as much as possible because I surely miss the competition from CS.
I took a lengthy break from CS after IEM VI WC so while I'm not in the best shape of my life, I've played about five hours of CS a day for the past few days and hopefully will get to play some more at the event venue on the weekend to be in good shape. I've had some of my better tournaments over the years when I haven't overplayed prior to the event, so the extra motivation from not having played in a while and being able to focus fully even on save rounds should help.
It will also be refreshing to play in a less organized environment where we can work off of simpler calls and hopefully call tons of things on the fly to surprise the teams who are used to playing against these guys. I will still lead the team, but since it won't be as extensive (at least I assume so) as with an actual well prepared team, it should leave me with more focus for individual play which is always a bonus.
After the tournament I will also visit Singapore for a short vacation which should be pretty awesome as I have never even been to Southeast Asia before. I wish I could take multiple weeks to explore the surrounding countries better but unfortunately I will have to be back to work pretty soon after, which is a little unfortunate.
I believe Mr. The-Game-Will-Restart-In-1-Second will also work together with me and mitz0r from our team to provide you guys with some coverage from the event so stay tuned to HLTV.org as usual. If you're interested in more frequent updates from me personally, you can follow on the social media addresses below.

lowyat is very nice and with reasonable price for IT stuff but kinda packed all day long :(
In Malaysia mostly those who play competitively have steam of the game.
