Well, all we know that IEM and WCG dropped CS 1.6 to their games, and this generates doubts, and scares about CS 1.6.
Just check my points, and later tell me if you are agree or disagree with me.
Counter Strike 1.6:
As we know, this version of CS was and is the most popular of all versions at the moment, and Today we still playing it.
Well, do you really think that CS 1.6 will dead? I don’t think so.
First of all, Just players in cs scene plays professionally, We play for fun, you want or not, pcw, mixes, public, etc, and I think that if you really love this game You won’t stop to play it, personally I really love this game, and I think that is the best game that I’ve played, is the most complete game, due to, the infinity of strats, spots, tricks, And also of the individual skill, and because of that, you could win in a 1 vs 5 situation if you really know how to handle the situations, this make it a really really nice game, all we know that.
I love Counter Strike 1.6, if it dies; I will continue playing it, nothing more, and nothing less.
Sponsorships:
Supposedly we have no sponsor to maintain this game alive, but this is a bullshit, yes, We have sponsors, WebPages, Gaming Gear, internet hosting, Server hosting, etc, we have no sponsor like Intel, or another giants, but all mentioned before, supports us.
Tournaments:
The tournaments like, IEM, WCG, are the most commercial of all.
Obviously that they dropped CS from his tournaments, they only think in Giants sponsors, and Games companies, like valve, blizzard, not in Fans, or if the game is better than another game, if is competitive or whatever.
Do you think that companies like Valve didn't pay to leaders of tournaments for promotes CS:GO? I think that yes, Why? It’s simply the most players of CS are in disagree with CS:GO.
CS:GO has taken very bad replies, and bad feedbacks, and the only way that valve have to gain money with “GO”, is invest money in it, I would not seem weird if they do it.

Well, as we have seen, most of professionals players are in disagreement with CS:GO,
Neo & co, and markeloff for example, maybe CS 1.6 have no chances to gain sponsors, but the teams have a chance, with no teams, no tournaments, nowadays teams are an organization with monetary power.
Our importance in the CS scene:
Needless to say that we play an important role, because We are fans, we are the mood support to the teams, and if we says things like “CS dead”, “CS is dying” we are demotivating to all players, professionals or not.
So please, don’t generates disturbances.
Conclusion:
I think and I bet that Counter Strike 1.6 won’t die, if CS:GO replace to Counter Strike 1.6, the most probably CS:GO fail and returns to Counter Strike 1.6, we do the professional game.
If CS dies, don’t worry, We will continue playing it, or will remain in our memories, as the best fps game!!!!

Less tournaments = less interest = pros will shift to other game or may eventually quit gaming = fans will play 1-2 hrs a day for fun or may quit as well.

for example, Argentina have no cs scene in tournaments at international level, but i love the game, and i play with my team, We do strategies, i want to improve my movemments and skills, and i have no intention to go to an international tournament, or whatever.

Good read. Cs 1.6 is just like any other sport. Never heard anyone saying football is dying or tennis is dying even though they are doing the same shit from years.

This is a game, new games come all the time, some good and some bad but sports all remain the same, the gear changes, not the game. Wich should be the thing with games, the game should remain the same, just improve the graphic when it gets old and such

Sponsors and tournaments will try out CS:GO. IEM and WCG will take CS:GO. But after they realised it was a fail and no pro player lieked it. They will go back to 1.6. And 1.6 will be revived once again

What don't you kids understand? CS:GO Won't make any difference or better, It won't even be a sucess because it will die in a few months just like when CS:PRO came out.

As I said 1 milion times before the game will never die as long as 1 player plays it, and I doubt that no one will be playing this game.
Maybe CS 1.6 won't die. But the competitive scene will. And without that, CS 1.6 wouldn't be the same as it was in the past.

its better that cs:go comes in for an year, fails and then 1.6 returns.... 1.6 is too saturated game and it has become very monotonous too..... its the same thing again and again..... VP made us exciting this tournament..... like dat we need different teams..... it can happen only if 1.6 is out of the scene for a while..... maybe even 6 months break for the 1.6 scene will do.....
