IEM5 Global Challenge Shanghai

After a fifth season of the well known Intel Extreme Masters was announced Global Challenge Shanghai is the first offline event during the Intel Extreme Masters fifth season in Counter-Strike, DotA and Warcraft 3.

The event will take place in Eastern China - Shanghai. The city has 19 milions inhabitants which makes Shanghai third largest of the four direct-controlled municipalities of the People's Republic of China, after Chongqing and Beijing. Today, Shanghai is the largest center of commerce and finance in mainland China, and has been described as the "showpiece" of the world's fastest-growing major economy.

The competition consist of eight teams split in two groups, which will be in 'fight' to take the first IEM V Global Challenge tournament, GC Shanghai, The total prize purse for Counter-Strike 1.6 will be $40.000 and the 1st place winner will be richer for $14.000 second place will take $7.000 and third place $5.000.

Group A consist of

Natus Vincere
SK-Gaming
Wemade FOX
Tyloo

The fresh ESWC and also Arbalet Cup champions and also the champions of Season 4 Natus Vinerce are in Group A, along with the well known Asian team WeMadeFOX from South Korea who are winners of the Season 4 Asian Championship, and the underdogs from Sweden SK-Gaming with third place at the IEM Finals. The match who probably going to be interesting to follow is match between SK and Na'Vi as they faced each other in the recent ESWC Final, where Ukrainians pulled out a great win.

Group B consist of
fnatic
mousesports
TBA
wNv

Group B is promising another thriller group.
Unfortunately recently the US-American Team EG cancelled their participation.Fnatic, I cant choose words to describe this team who are Season 4 runners up, also they will showup this event with their old-known 'beast' Rasmus 'Gux' Stahl.Mousesports, the current European Champions and the well-known dangerous wisdom Nerve victory from China.

Global Challenge Shanghai will kick off on the 29th of July and will be closed on the 1st of August.

I hope you like it, this is my second preview for a Tournament.

,Cheers up

The site is international so please speak in English. :) ofc I know meaning of underdogs, in this case it`s used for a team who I expect to lose(SK canceled their attendance at this IEM), so there is no point to talk on this matter, I just expresed my opinion :)
