Pro players mouse sensitivity (thread database)
I made new thread about it because old one I wasn't able to edit and that's why it was removed.
In this I share with you with database which I created in Google Excel Document, you will find there probably all information about proffesional players mouse sensitivity.

Database in Google Excel Document:
http://goo.gl/ju4yR
(I will update it from time to time when I'll get some new information.)

Of course you can still post some new information in here, but please only a good/certain one.
(troll and unnecessary posts will be reported and I think deleted).

You should do it at these points:
1. Mouse name and model.
2. Mouse DPI.
3. Mouse Hz.
4. Windows Sensitivity (6/11 or other).
5. Windows Enhance Precision Point (EPP) on or off.
6. Mousefix yes (which one) or no.
7. Noforcem commands yes (which one) or no.
8. RInput yes or no.
9. Drivers yes or no.
10. CS Sensitivity.
Optionally:
11. Actual photo with described mouse in his hand.
12. Proof: link to site with this configuration.

In example for 'Neo'.
Neo
1. ZOWIE AM
2. 450 DPI
3. 1000 Hz
4. 6/11
5. Off
6. No
7. -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd
8. No
9. No
10. 2.1

Xizt and Friis use RInput since the model of their MSI laptops has Windows 7 and they play without any mouse accel.
2012-02-16 12:58:50
I thought carn used 1 in game and 1450 or something DPI
2012-02-16 11:42:33
Maybe you are right, but it's possible that he changed it to default dpi and other sensitivity.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llFn-ysZ_Vw

Remember with bigger DPI on mouse your negative acceleration increase. RInput can decrease this negaccel.

Important thing, it's possible that some pro players use different configuration in their home.

This configurations in document they are using for sure on most tournaments, because none of them don't install the mousefix and it's strange cuz we know that in Windows 7 we get random positive acceleration even when we have noforcem commands in launch options so in this case we need to install mousefix or use the RInput.
2012-02-16 11:58:28
micronn, @neo, what about 12. ? where do you have the info from? I find it really odd that he plays with noforcemspd, it's so annoying.
2012-02-16 12:40:33
From last linesman file pack in some ESL match.
2012-02-16 13:14:01
what is rinput? what this thing does?
2012-02-16 13:07:43
RInput allows you to override low definition windows mouse input (accurate untill 400cpi) with high definition mouse input (raw input, which is more accurate for high cpi mice). This is certainly useful for games like Wolfenstein – Enemy Territory as the engine only supports low definition windows mouse input.

Advantages:
* Prevents negative acceleration.
* More accurate.
* Bypass windows mouse settings (1:1, Low Level).
* Less overhead than Direct Input.

So should we use markC and rinput or just rinput/markC
2012-02-16 13:34:00
RInput (Windows 7):
+ completely removes positive windows acceleration
+ decreases negative acceleration for users who is using more than 500dpi on their mouse
+ in-game always forcing windows sensitivity to 6/11
- exe program but it's safe for VAC and AC's
- different mousefix module

Mousefix MarkC (Windows 7):
+ precise mousefix module (I like it more)
+/- removes positive windows acceleration, but rarely it's not working at all because we get for every 30sec. random accel (solution: reinstall mousefix and reboot pc, sometimes it helps)
- we get still hardware negative acceleration

2012-02-16 13:58:51
thats something I cant never tell, I never feel the random accel people might get

perhaps cuz I use fast sens? 4.2 in game 6/11 400dpi
2012-02-16 18:37:15
For sure.
This is very noticeable at low sensitivity.
2012-02-16 21:11:26
i use accelfix.exe which is strips accel off on the driver level... like markc's.. haven't had any problems w/ it. .and it's consistent.
2012-03-07 10:56:22
stupid... just put distance (cm or in) moved to perform a 180degree turn.

the list of settings just to determine someones sensitivity is absurd imo. and most of the time can't be duplicated identically on diff machines/environments.. CENTIMETERS AND INCHES>. universal language we all speak... get w/ it already..

TIRED Of seein' these threads w/ a list of settings that dont mean shit
2012-02-16 13:17:06
Some players like trace play with acceleration and the distance to perform a 180degree turn is always different.
2012-02-16 13:22:40
Answer to first sentence:
It will not be a perfect measure and how can you get it from pro players, impossible.

Answer to second sentence:
So not 'sensitivity' but 'configuration' or 'sensitivity configuration' it's ok for you now?
And we all know that monitor Hz is changing overall sensitivity, and of course it can be duplicated identically on diff machines.
2012-02-16 13:28:23
hz does not change sensitivity.. it changes your visual perception of the sen.
2012-03-07 10:57:40
Yes, but sensitivity too, ask pro players or even check it.
2012-03-07 11:00:24
It doesn't change sensitivity at all.
2013-03-25 11:33:17

11. Actual photo with described mouse in his hand.

And are you sure that they can't install drivers on most tournaments, because I think they can and when they set dpi for their mouse they unninstall it.

About mousefix it's hard to say, maybe in some tournament they can, I would like to know this information from them but I think it will be impossible.
2012-02-16 13:40:22
Ohh, I thought that I should prove with a picture that he uses this mouse on number 11.

They don't install drivers on LAN events, because they have their profiles in their mice.

Players who play on windows7 use rinput and those who don't dont use it.
I doubt someone will play with windows 7 accel on and go on a tournament and adapt to new mouse movement in case win xp is instaled.
My opinion

Can change's the Hz in Microsoft 3.0 (125, 500, 1000)?
2012-03-28 13:10:55
yes, you can
just download hidusb, check mouse and force 500Hz rate
2012-03-28 13:15:11
for change dpi's need another Software?
2012-03-28 13:19:50
you can't change dpi on microsoft 3.0 or 1.1
2012-03-28 13:23:52
so, i won't buy it. hahahaha xD

2012-03-28 14:40:58
no way, zonic when was in mousesports had 2,5 sens on IE 1.1.
2012-03-28 14:58:06
He has 3.73 in-game sens, but with 5/11 windows sens, instead of 6/11, so it's 2.7975 with 6/11.

up
2012-03-28 14:33:09
maybe dumb question, but using a different dpi and hz, what does it change? besides the speed. is it better to use lower dpi, and for what purpose?
2012-03-28 15:14:37
higher dpi - your mouse is more sensitive
if you wonder is it better to change dpi or sensitivity in-game and don't find a difference, it's usually better to use higher dpi
i.e. your mouse with some settings after 1cm move on mousepad, changes the position of cursor for 100pixels. In this example imagine that your mouse 'reads' every mouse after 1mm move. So every 1mm the mouse move for 10 pixels. If you change your settings to double speed, your mouse will move for 20 pixels every 1mm, so after 1cm you will move for 200 pixels. And if you change dpi, your mouse will 'read' smaller moves. I.e. you double your dpi, then your cursor will move every 0,5mm. So, after doubling dpi, when you move your mouse for 1cm, you have also 200 pixels change on screen, because now you have 20 moves (with 2times smaller dpi only 10 found by the mouse) for 10 pixels, 20x10=200.

for cs the best dpi: 400 (don't remember exactly why, you can find loads of threads about it) and 6/11 sensitivity in windows

frequency is just how often your mouse is refreshing and reading a move
http://www.funender.com/quake/mouse/index.html#pol..
"For example, say you are using a polling rate of 500hz (2ms). Over a period of 8ms, you move your mouse 40 pixels (constant movement, no acceleration). Every 2ms your mouse sends a count of 10 pixels. Now you increase your polling rate to 1000hz (1ms) and make the same movement. Instead of 10 pixels every 2ms, your mouse now sends 5 every 1ms. Either way, 10x4=40, and 5x8=40. same distance, one is just polled more frequently."

anyone knows what setting does heaton has?
2012-11-02 20:47:00
Hey.
I'm here to tell you everyone your WRONG about f0rest & Edward!
From the beginning they are fucking lying about their sens.
It's obvious since f0rest play with kinzu V1 he doesn't have 6/11 in game but 4/11, like EdwardfAnBoY.
I saw that in 2012 on the f0r computer..
So stop saying f0rest is a high sens player, he's not.
f0rest = low-mid sens with hardware accel. that why is so strong and Edward knew that.

kiss
2013-03-24 11:48:19
You may be right.

Can you find some evidence about it?
2013-03-24 18:59:00
Sure, look carefully at 4:56 the screen AND his hand/mouse
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JomRdm77zn4
2013-03-24 19:35:42
Hard to say.
It's still possible that he used 6/11 and 3.5 sensitivity on this video.

Btw. check his profile:

2013-03-24 19:52:02
Well, it also says that he is using Kinzu V2, which he is definitely not.
2013-03-24 20:28:54
Hmm interesting.

Going back to his sensitivity, if he uses 3.5 and 4/11, than he needs 60cm to do 360 degrees, so it's low sensitivity.

Lower than my 1.8 and 6/11.

Site to check how many cm you need to do 360 degrees in game:
http://www.funender.com/quake/mouse/index.html

So I still think that he is using these settings.

Found info that he is using Kinzu V2 Rubber:

Now he's on cs:go which is a completely different game so maybe he use Kinzu v2 without hardware accel.

He wrote that he uses Kinzu V2 Rubber:
"Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg: its v2 rubber"

Can some1 tell me in which way mouse hertz helps in gaming/cs.
2013-03-24 11:55:23
http://www.funender.com/quake/mouse/index.html#pol..

The best and optimal Hz value is 500.

2013-03-24 18:56:46
1000 also, why not.
2013-03-24 20:00:18
Not stable and you lose smoothness.
2013-03-24 21:06:18
mmm...lots of CSS players use 1000Hz and also 1.6ers so it shouldn't be that.

What are you based of for saying you lose stabilty and smoothness? It runs well.

If your pc / usb ports can't handle the 1000Hz polling rate, it's bad. If own a PC made after 2005, you will benefit from using 1000Hz.
2013-03-24 21:49:16
Exactly...but idk who owns a pc from 2005 lol and more for CSGO haha.

Yeye, im not flaming tho. Dont take me seriously
2013-03-25 11:30:56
Almost all players seem to use 6/11 Windows sens.?

Any particular reason for that? I have been using 4/11 since the beginning with -noforcemaccel & -noforcemparms.

But since the update, I cannot get the same feel with the sens as before. m_rawinput 1 does not have the same effect.
2013-03-25 11:31:02
If im right setting windows sensitivity larger / smaller value then 6 causes pixel jumping(= isn't as accurate).

But if you're used to it, you should be fine tho.

Do you use m_rawinput 1 btw?

see more:

2013-03-25 11:44:21
Prior to the update only used -noforcemaccel & -noforcemparms. But after the update, I am forced to use m_rawinput 1.

My win sens is the same tho, 4/11. But now my ingame sens has come down to 1 from 1.7 (before the update).
2013-03-25 13:21:58
If you use m_rawinput 1, that means that your windows sens doesn't count.

m_rawinput 1 feels about the same as 6/11 on windows.
2013-03-25 13:40:05
Because they want to have exactly 1-to-1 mapping of mouse movement to pointer movement.

More information:
http://www.funender.com/quake/mouse/index.html#mou..

Btw. m_rawinput forces Windows sensitivity to 6/11 always, thats why you don't feel the same effect like with 4/11 and with -noforcemaccel & -noforcemparms.
2013-03-25 11:56:11
No wonder my reflex shots are not as accurate as before. My aim as a whole has been affected due to this update. Aint a pro or anything, but my aim, spray, reflex shots, etc all messed up.

So does the -noforcemaccel & -noforcemparms work now after the updates?
Coz i am not using these in the launch options atm.

What if i use jus the -noforce commands and m_rawinput 1? Will i have the same effect as before?
2013-03-25 13:18:52
Nope, m_rawinput or Rinput.exe forces the input straight from the usb hub, which means it jumps over the windows sens part. The reason why it feels the same is that the multiplier is same on windows as it would come directly from usb hub.

1/11 = 0.0625
2/11 = 0.0125
3/11 = 0.25
4/11 = 0.5
5/11 = 0.75
6/11 = 1 (Default)
7/11 = 1.5
8/11 = 2
9/11 = 2.5
10/11 = 3
11/11 = 3.5

So if you have ingame sens 3.0

3.0 * 1 = 3.0 (Windows sens 6/11)
3.0 * 0.75 = 2.25 (Windows sens 5/11)
3.0 * 0.5 = 1.5 (Windows sens 4/11)

They're accustomed to it.

What i feel is, they have been playin cs long before these higher DPI mouse! So, they have been so used to it now, they cant play at higher DPI.

@micronn, what's the difference if the mouse got a driver and not except that you can configure if you have a driver? OR anyone knows can answer please?
2013-03-25 12:03:11
A driver enables you to use the hardware device to its full capabilities. Whether or not you're using mouse drivers determines how the mouse is behaving and has tremendous effect depending on how different the drivers are.

2013-03-25 12:17:55
What do you mean by " tremendous effect depending on how different the drivers are." can you explain to me please what are those effect because i saw the link of the creator, almost most of the 1.6 pros are installing, then changing dpi etc and then uninstall it directly.
2013-03-25 12:36:44
Usually drivers are taking too much ram and create a lags in the game.
2013-03-25 12:38:43
Oh really? i might need to uninstall my driver a.s.a.p because i only got 4gb ram and a 2 core processor :(

BTW, so that's the only reason for the pros to uninstall there driver after they configure their mouse settings?
2013-03-25 12:45:44
Sorry, it's not that the drivers take a lot of RAM and create lag. Today's computers are more than capable to handle that. But it more to do with how the device is behaving as I said earlier, driver determines how the hardware behaves. Different drivers will make the same device behave separately and that would depend on what the drivers are offering and what impact they have on the device, which can be massive or slim to none depending on how different the drivers are.
2013-03-25 13:30:38
So in terms of fps gaming, without driver is?
2013-03-25 13:32:28
That would depend on what your OS is giving as the default version and how different it is from the latest one from the manufacturer.

Edit: There is always a driver, there can not be a hardware detected without a driver.
