SS Kana vs Xai vs Deathadder vs Kinzu v2 Pro help!!
Hi guys. I researched all day and I could not reach a conclusion. I want to change my brick G500, it leaves me a fucking pain in the arm. I can not decide between these.

I read, all have a bug.

Kinzu = have aceleration (discarded)
kunzu v2 pro / Kana = same sensor pixart (many people says the sensor is bad)
xai = great mouse but the scroll has delay (imposible to do bunny hop) / laser (dont work 100% in cloth pad (negative acceleration), im using qck heavy/ low sens)
DeathAdder= pretty, big and heavy, the best sensor, a bit negative accel and fragile.

my config: 400dpi 6/11 win 2.2 in game

I dont looking a perfect mouse. I just want a good mouse and not regret. I would buy the xai but I've been discouraged.

Can you tell me what is best for you and why?

On my opinion:

G500 I loved that mouse, but just like you it was way too cumbersome for long hours of play.

DA In terms of shape it was one of the best mouse I've ever tried, that thing just glues to your hand. I didn't stick with it for 2 reasons mainly, I didn't really adapt to it's sensor ingame albeit I didn't stick with it long enough for that because the real bugger for me was that it made my palm sweat like hell.

Xai is the mouse I use for over a year and a half without any kind of problems. I like the feel of its grip a lot although DA was better, but ingame I adapted rather fast to it. Yes there are xai's that do give a lot of problems I know a couple of cases.. Yes the scroll felt awkward at first and bhop felt impossible, but now it's just as any other, try lowering the scroll speed on the options. I like the mouse, and it has been flawless so far. Also, i use a cloth pad and don't have a prob.

In the end, It's just a matter of personal preference, they'r all good at doing what they were made for. Your best bet is to try them both, buy one try it for some days if you don't like it go back to the store and trade it for the other, it's a consumers right :p

it is a very good product yes. probably one of razers best mice. i cant use it cause im left handed, same goes to the MX518 from logitech which is very amazing but only for right handers too^^

look. I had Razer Mamba for like 2 years. awesome. just... wow. that mouse was the expansive as fu*k but it was worth it. after 2 years I bought Xai. after 3 days I returned it to shop. reason was simple. SO SMALL AND LIGHT MOUSE. I was not able to control it stable. it was not comfortable. So I decided to buy DA. and in shape, weight and sensor it is similiar to Mamba so it is prefect now. So I tell you. dont buy Xai, dont buy KANA/Sensei/kinzu. if you want really good mouse, get Mamba/DA/Zowie EC 1/2 . I know, maybe expansive but worth it for sure.

you should not buy a mouse because a player use it. starix is using the kana, because steelseries is their sponsor and he has to play with it for a better marketing. i have the kana (white) on my own and have to say that its one of the worst mice that steelseries made. the switches are low quality and the clicking is pretty loud. the mousewheel is fine but there for the glides are shit (you probably have to order new ones, even if u can get them for free u have to wait a few weeks for getting the new glides). the sensor has a jump bug if you dont install the driver and has a bug on colored mousepads. think twice before you buy the kana ;) i went back to my old intelli 1.1 because its way better and only use kana for my laptop now...

Do not get Steelseries mice, their products are just getting worse. I can guarentee you, if you get one it'll just annoy you. Their customer support is amazing though.

Zowie AM/EC2/DeathAdder - that is what i'd recommend, but the EC2 has been discontinued now and the new EC eVo is coming out next month.

I have used the MX518 for years through my gaming and it was my favourite mouse and I wanted to change, using the Zowie AM atm and quite like it.

f0rest has been useing kinzuv1 for like 3 years and never played with xai :S gtr changed from xai to kinzu and since sensei came out he has been using it. and i don't think thats counts what mouse are they useing becouse like 90% of pro gamers MUST to use ss mouses... mtw didn't have to play with ss mouses, they all played with microsoft mouses and of course neo, taz don't use ss, khristal an other players neither.

Many people recommend me Deathadder, I use low sensitivity, i hold the mouse many times to make a 360º, thats because i wanna change my g500, its big, heavy and really uncomfortable (palm hand).

If you have a DA and use low sensitivity and dont have trouble with any sudden movements, ill buy it.

Sensei and Xai are basically the same, I would recommend the Sensei Raw over the Xai. They use a variant of the same sensor, the Sensei's is just updated a bit.

They use different sensors. The Kinzu v2 has about half the performance of the Kana. Both mice suffer from multicolored pads, but the Kinzu is much worse with it.

Yes, the Kana will perform much better on black pads than the Kinzu v2. The Kinzu v2 is meant for RTS and high sensitivity players. I can't even do a 180degree on medium sensitivity without the mouse taking a shit.

The only difference is the lens. The kana lens is smaller the so called Pixart PAW-3305dk-H model so it can achive better overall results at faster movements. Why because it has to read/scan a smaller area than the kinzu v2. The sampling rate is more accurate because of the samller area. Thats why the kana has an improvement on colored pads as well.

Both models are awful for fps games anyway and not good(fast tracking) enough for low sens players. Pixart never made a decent gaming sensor

But i saw all the reviews and on black mousepads on EthanNixon's YT video it worked good even while moving so fast.
i dont care if kana is better on multicolored pads if they work the same on singlecolored pads.

i already answered your question if you would knew what i am talking about.

The the kinzu has lower Malfunction Speed than the kana which is around 1.9 if i remember it correctly. And the kana something around 2.8 . I am too lazy to look for the exact result.

The faster you move your mouse the higher the risk is your kinzu will jitter/move not right while the kana still holds that up to a certain point.
If you are a low sens player which moves his mouse pretty fast around the pad then get the kana or a better mouse

2. And how do you definie fast? not faster than 1.9 m/s in this video

he even says that he does not recommed it for low sens players. Dude what else do you want from us? i guess you are a mid/high sens player so you can stick with the kinzu v2. Most of the players dont reach more than 2meters per second. Just a few low sens players reach more at a certain point

They don't use the same sensor. Open it up, you will see for yourself. They both use A Pixart sensor, but it is not the exact same one. They do have different lenses.

Open both up, you will see. Ask Skylit, he is knowledgeable about mice if you don't think I'm not...which would be pretty dumb.

They are a variant of the same sensor, with the Pixart PAW3305DK-H being the better one. It's the same sensor as in the ZOWIE MiCO and a few Roccat mice. It's NOT the same sensor as the Kinzu v2...otherwise it would CLEARLY have the same model number.

Please do some research before trying to correct people.

They aren't the same sensor though, and Skylit says that. The model of the sensor won't change based on the lens, otherwise the ZOWIE eVo would be using the 3090-xxx.

There are hardware/software differences in each sensor in the Kinzu v2 and Kana. They have different interpolated DPI levels, and handle precision different at different DPI levels. The latter could very well be because of the lens, but the first will be a difference in the CMOS/firmware used.

If they were the same sensor, the Kinzu wouldn't suffer nearly as bad on multicolored mousepads, regardless of lens. :P

yeah true but the update pretty much fixed that. And why does it still spin or jitter at fast movements sometimes ? maybe because you go above 1.9m/s or what ever the exact malfunction speed was

edit: i remember there was a thread on overlock where he opnened both up and replaced the lens with each other and they worked both just that now the kinzu had now the better results of the smaller. Do you remember that? I dont want to search that up

I stopped caring about the Kinzu v2 when I reviewed it and I couldn't do a 180.

They use different sensors, according to model number. For all I care they could have the exact same sensor internally, but it's listed as two different sensors. The Kinzu is without the -H, and the Kana has -H.

My Kana doesn't malfunction the way the Kinzu does. My Kana will just have massive negative acceleration when I hit the malfunction speed, after the update. My Kinzu still does the circle glitch. I've not kept up-to-date with the Kinzu, but I doubt they've updated the Kinzu since launch. Kim Rom even had me try out a few beta firmwares, and none of them helped.

I had Xai for a year and it was perfect, I COULD do bunny hop, and I had no problems with tracking on my QCK+ Na'Vi..

I switched to Sensei RAW couple of days ago, and it feels the same, except it doesn't have all those settings which I don't use at all..


For me, Sensei RAW (rubber) is the best option..

Xai is a rlly good mouse with a great sensor and multiple options but imo it was to large for me.
Kana has a bad left click imo it sucks.. Kinzu v2 i never tried but kinzu v1 is rlly great and is perfect for fps games if u dont need all the extra options

My personal choice would be the MX518. Out of these 3 mices though I would go with the DA cause it's a very well produced mouse, dpi issue no longer really exists, has a really nice shape and fits all styles well :D
