My grandma :(
She's in coma now. My mom has been crying since the last hours. She can't go to grandma's hospital because she can't afford the flight. She's crying and she says she wants my grandma's grandchildren, me and my brothers, to see her before she passes. I can't stand it. It's really painful to hear her cry. Me and my brothers have never seen my grandma since we were very little. My mom wants her to see us. I mean, she will regret for the rest of her life if my grandma hasn't met us before she dies. To not let my grandma meets her grandchildren who have grown up, I can't even imagine. It's killing me..
Please, pray for my mom and grandma. I hope everything will be okay :(

When I heard my mom crying and telling how the bond between her and grandma was, how she always did what my grandma was saying, I realized that my goal of life should've been dedicated for my parents. These past 5 years, I've been blinded and very egoistic. I always think about myself, my goal, and everything up to my own benefits. I even reached a point where I swore to myself everyday that after I finished college and had my own job, I won't be meeting with my parents and family anymore and lived my own life. But, after I noticed how pure the love between my mom and grandma was, everything I've been through these years was just felt wrong. I feel very bad that my grandma had to die for me to realize this right way.

That was kind of judgemental. Life doesn't always make it easy to see your loved ones. The only family (at least biological) I have in Norway is my mum, my dad and my sister (and her kids, I guess.) The rest is in a different country. Both of my grandmothers, one of them not my biological grandmother, have passed away the last couple of years, and I didn't get to see them as much as I wanted to.
Unlike J R's situation however, my mum had the opportunity to rush to Iceland to see her unbiological mother while she was on her death bed, and the sweet old woman didn't let go until she was by her side. I hope something positive comes out of his situation, too.

What's your problem? I've got my own opinion about it. My grandma is about to die too, and? She doesn't even know my name anymore. If I see her staring into the air without reacting to anything I feel bad for her because it seems better if she leaves.

it is maybe a lesson that you might (if you ever going to have kids) do it better. and there are always other ways to achive your goal even if this not the same. as someone earlier said webcams would be also a way in our modern community pretty sure the hospital could arrange something from their side. for sure its not exactly the same. but at least you could make your mother happily when the time comes.

Dude, I think your grandma had a good and long life before the comma, so now it's time to die :( I was in pretty the same situation a year ago, so when my grandma passed away my mum had fallen in the depress, mine feelings weren't ok also, but then I understood the thing that I have known all my life, but didn't care for it, so the thing is in my grandpa's fraze "All have to live, then they have to die", so after I heard this I felt a bit happier, then I talked to my mum, that the depress is not the way out of all problems, and said that my grandma was really kind and great. I suppose your grandma had a big, nice life too, and also she has nice grandson.

my grandmother had a brain stroke. when i visited her, she was moving her head automatically, it was hard to watch her. the next day when i visited her, she was like she never had a stroke and i was really happy :) hope everything will be ok with your grandmother and i hope you will be able to go and visit her

Well, actually it's more complicated than it appears to be.. My grandma is not my mom's biological mother.. Her parents died in a car crash when she was still a baby, a few days old to be exact.. And fortunately, there was my grandma in the hospital who had also just given birth to her baby.. So, the doctor asked if my grandma would share the breastfeed and my grandma accepted.. Then, my grandma took care of my mom ever since.. I don't know the exact story though.. However, things have never been good between my mom and her 10 siblings.. She said the siblings had never liked her and were jealous of her all the time.. So, it's kinda complicated..

Yesterday my grandma was in coma and she couldn't be waken up. She didn't respond. Her blood pressure was very low at about 60/40 if I'm not mistaken, maybe lower. Everything had been done, but the condition kept worsen. She had been diagnosed to have fungi (?) in her blood and the doctor said that he had given up. However, my grandma had not and the doctor noticed this. So, he asked the family, "she's waiting for someone. Who's not here?". The family knew it that it was my mom that's missing, so out of necessity, they let my mom to have a speech with my grandma by phone. My mom talked and cried. She also said to me that she heard everybody crying through the phone.
Well, I don't know how it could possibly happen, but the doctor told that after my mom's call, my grandma's blood pressure rose.
