Dota player will say dota, same thing for LoL. What are you expecting ?
If you are going for more simple game without learning too much about every hero go with LoL but you need to have on mind that even if LoL is free to play you need to pay to unlock rest of the heroes / champions, also you can buy some items which will change gameplay or better to say give you some advantages.
If you want to play game with more tactics, more learning about every hero and his gameplay you want to get Dota 2. Simple, dota 2 is more complex game, totally free to play beside that store shop which is only for cosmetic items there, noone will have advantages because he bought something.

That's not a fact. A player who has all the heroes in not really 'in advantage' on someone that can only choose the basic 10. The rest of the stuff, like runes or masteries can't be bought with real life money.

Of course runes give advantage. But we're talking about beginners here: they all start at level 1 and in Normal games are seeded in games with players with a level < 10. It means that none of the players have loads of IP and none of the players have acces to the really good runes which actually matter in game.

The best runes are only available to purchase after level 20. If you don't waste your IP's you'll be able to buy both AD/AP sets once you reach 30. The only major problem is that you need to buy rune pages.
And when you reach lvl 30 and play ranked you're supposed to already have runes for at least each position, cause if you don't you'll just be crushed.

If i have 500 euros to spend ill buy champions with it and then use my IP to buy runes while u for example with 0 euros wont have the same amount of champions as me nor the same runes cause you also need to spend on champions. so yeah, you can buy items that give u more advantage which is lame. it reminds of travian rofl.

you have to realise something... by the time you hit level 30 where gameplay is tooken to a new level you already have a full rune page for ure certain type of champs you play for example a magic user or tank or wtv so yes spending more money will give you more champions but it doesnt make you a better player.. they give you a free 10 champions every week so you will eventually play all the new champs ect and when u realise u like someone a lot you will buy them and play them

Look at your own example. If both players use their IP on runes the only difference is that the paying player can choose a few champions who he can pick WHENEVER he wants, when the not-paying player who puts all his IP in runes (which are worthless in < lvl 10 anyway) has to use the basic 10. That's all! The player with the bought champ doesn't have a huge advantage if the non-paying player is simply better.

I really don't know why people always say that LoL is easier, or that in LoL you don't have to know in detail your hero or your opponents hero, or that in LoL you don't need tactics, I think it's just crazy talks. Ok, Dota2 is a better looking, that's because it's a 2012 game not a 2009 game. Maybe Dota 2 is a more complex game, but it just can't be that much more complex then LoL. Between Dota and LoL I pick HoN.

its way more complex trust me, the hero mechanics, the lane control and creep deny to hold your enemys into an exp/gold deficit, the items are way more complex to use and can decide a whole game you sometimes have to sell almost all your stuff and rebuild to outplay enemys items etc. in lol you always have one meta game that everyone plays. i know some friends who have 1900+ elo in LoL and they cant even get out of the lowskill pool in dota2 (they really suck at dota) :D one of them even went back to LoL cause he said dota is too hard and stressfull to play
ah and dont forget the micro control, in LoL you only control one hero, in dota there are some heroes who can control enemy jungle creeps like "chen" or "enchantress" so you actually play 4 units with all same different skills (have to switch between them) you really need all of them for stunning and stuff and its very complex in teamfights

elo hell history, im 1900/2000 elo and i always play alone. one friend was always crying too about of elo hell, i start playing in his account (which was 950 elo) and i put in 1600 with just 2 loss, he start playing again with his account and he drop to 1220 elo again, always complaining about teamates and blabla.

always the same boring 1-1-2 (1 jungle), when at dota u can go solo roshan at first level,you also can go 1-1-3 ,get fast the tower and after going mid... there are alot of strats that people use at Dota.... at LoL there is only a few... it is more about jungler ganking with midlane.... nothing special comparing to dota

I remember back in the days when I played DotA it was much funnier, and we had much better players overall (instead of the trolls u can find over LoL these days)
Unfortunately I can't compare it to DotA 2 since I haven't tried it yet, but I can tell that, back then at least, competitive scene was way more exclusive than LoL's actual scene. Even seeing top ELO players playing casual mode during ranked/tournament games can tell that.

for cs players LoL is best game no doubt, its not too hard to learn and its pretty intresting, some retard comments i hear hare, guys its TEAM GAME, how ucan say "OMG Noobs are playing only LoL" your team need to make good char pick's and teamplay good timing and position, so i would say its team's game, i wanna see how you will kick top5 world team even if your buddys are playing for 3years.. they will destroy you in 20minutes with they TEAMPLAY, and it doesnt make sense to say this game is for noobs and whateverelse you say... the right word would be, "LoL is easyer to learn than dota" but the competitive level is pretty high.

they saw their tourneys and players like consumers and they created an awesome format to support, feed and use their constantly fatter community to keep increasing its own size, genious stuff. LoL can improve A LOT and I bet Riot is going to get its revenge after DotA 2 steals lots of players from them.

ive played both games and i really think LoL gives the excitement you need, i think dota is just very bland and not unique. the big problem with LoL is you get a lot of trolls but when you get real players on both sides in a competitive game it can be a lot of fun and you and your friends will agree on playing 1 more game after those close games. i also like the diversity of the champs in LoL the way you can make combo's with you're team champs it really can make things interesting but i would try both out i have a lot of friends who play both games

Played LoL last year before I got dota2 and it was okay. Got my dota2 key and never touched LoL again. Dota2 is just more entertaining to play and watch. Once dota2 will be released it will overtake LoL.

Playing dota for 7 years,+ dota 2 now and LoL for 2.You still cant compare dota2 and lol ,because dota 2 is still beta,but for me dota 2 needs a bit more of "skills" if i can say that,also better graphic,and u need to be more tactical wise to success.But still lol have some nice things like brushes,runes,etc... All in all ,Dota 2 for me.

LoL is okay for casual gaming with friends but it's a horrible game for competetive gaming.
No denying (creeps/towers/players), no gold loss on death, small map, very few items with on-use abilities, every player has access to a blink, free teleport to base, no courier, no creep pulling, no creep stacking, no forest with fog to juke players in, horrible tower AI, rax respawn, etc. The list goes on.
Another thing I don't like about LoL is that the set-up 1 top, 1 mid, 2 bot, 1 jungle is pretty much set in stone, whereas in DotA you can have tri-lanes, dual mid, etc.
So for casual gaming i think they're about equally good but dota is far better for more serious play.

In Dota you have to master many more things, which won't show in LoL.
I prefer Dota - more skill needed, more time to master champs, more different ways to play, more exciting, games are intense.
