In denmark there's alot of parameters which calculate how much you will get.

Ex. If your parents have a high income and you live at home i think it's about 150euro.

I think the highest amount you can be paid is about 750euros. Besides that you can have a sparetime job.
2012-06-21 14:33:47
yeah in germany its the same, "lucky" for me my parents divorced one year ago and dont have enough money left to pay for me :D
2012-06-21 14:50:45
its a good thing for you that your parents divorced?
2012-06-21 16:00:03
for my money situation yes :D
but i dont really care, its their decision :)
i see both once a week. everything is normal :D
2012-06-21 16:01:59
Well, if you're more than 21 years old and still live at home you'll get the highest amount of payment in the "live-at-home" category (~375€) no matter how much your parents earn a year.
2012-06-21 14:58:07
That's pretty good. I haven't been paid "SU" in 4-5 years now :D
2012-06-21 15:51:21

$65 pocket money to spend on random shit i.e phone recharge, drinks etc Rest college fees, food, clothing etc is covered by parents.

No part time job because colleges here take over 9+ hours. :/ And avg part time job in here need 8-12 hour shift (minimum).

2012-06-21 15:08:05

Part time job 0€
- I dont have a job simply because I wouldnt be able to synchronize both studiyng and job.
2012-06-21 14:57:22
It's the same here. We can't organise our time table and sometime happens that we have teaching daily (some Universities are teaching only three days a week), it hounds me :-/.

2012-06-22 16:34:52
I'm getting ~80€ per month on petrol, nothing more. But my University is only about 20km away from my home, so I still live at my parent's home :). And I got ~480€ from Uni because of my very good study results.

LOL

in Australia you get nothing unless your parents are really poor.

When i finished my IT degree, i now owe the government $25,000 USD which is like 20000euro.

Funny we pay to go, and you guys get paid to go. And it's not like Australia is a poor country.. really sucks for us though :(

its cost more than 25000 euro to do an IT degree in PT ?
2012-06-21 15:18:30
Depends, but what's fucked up here is that normally rich people get scholarships and go to uni with daddy and mommys car when poor peoples parents have to work their ass of to pay for their kids uni.
2012-06-21 15:26:38
yeah agree
2012-06-21 16:10:57
That´s not true but whatever, portuguese mentality. But yeah, you can say many/most poor people dont get the schorlarships.
2012-06-21 20:24:22
another stupid thing!
2012-06-22 00:33:59
it doesnt, thats a lie! in the best public university in Portugal, U.Coimbra, u pay around 1000€ a year, just to study there.. but we have a lot of social tools that can help a person to take theyr degrees!
in my case, i study there, law, and i get paid 425€ a month, plus, i get 75€ to pay my house. most univeristies in Portugal have social service "institution" that has their own dorms, than the same institution give us money to pay for the house, that money comes ofc from EU. i dont pay shit in my dorm, internet, lights, water etc, its all included in the 75€ i pay, which i also receive from the government.. we cant have jobs here, otherwise we arent able to receive these scholarships.. so, i pay 1000€ a year, and i receive like 5000 a year, i live a good life, i have to admit!! but my mom and dad are unemployed right now, and my brother were in college last year also, thats why i get paid so much, cause my parents dont have money to pay for my studies!
right now, they are cutting in those scholarships like crazy, tons of people left university here because of it, thats true.. but if ur poor, dont owe money to the government etc, u'll get FOR SURE helped. u also have to achieve academic goals ofc, otherwise people would never leave college. we have to make 60% ofc the credits we are signed for, in my faculty its 6 out of 10 a year but there was a time when it was 4.
lets keep in mind that most of the pt guys do not want to be in a dorm, they much rather have their own room, which, depending on the city, will cost u like 200€ a month, which is nuts, and most of them arent even legal, they are ripping off the state!
but to sumarize, what that guy said is true, we see a lot of rich kids driving their father mercedes etc, but, compared to what im reading, im truly blessed to be studying here, cause after i finish my studys i'll owe 0€ to the state.

I study in Avelar Brotero near of the Académica stadium.
Actually our social politics about school are good we have a lot of suport from our goverment.

Hopping for your parents to find a job really quickly!
2012-06-22 01:50:53
yeah i know Avelar Brotero, i catch the 34th bus in front of it very often :) btw, isnt d.maria the best high-school in Portugal?

European Union politics about it are actually kind of good here, if it were by our government, we would have to pay for our education ourselves :)
thanks man, appreciate it, unfortunately, my father is a construction worker and we all know how much that sector is suffering right now :(

Well my father works also in that but he uses heavy machinery and works out of the country (Spain) so he can get a good amount of money (2000Euros+ extra hours= 2500Euros.

well, yeah, he is always saying it.. but i mean, he's almost 50yo, im kind of afraid of what could happen to him, he's not getting any younger.. :/ he already worked in Spain, with some punks a while ago, but if the times comes when he doesnt have the unemployment € from the government nor a job, i mean, what other option does he have? he has got to put food in the table for us :/ lets see what's gonna happen..
2012-06-22 02:15:58

2012-06-23 00:22:52
Lol, our governtment wanted to innovate education system (Universities) in Cze and it should be the same :-/.

We get money for university education only if you live far away or if you have very good study results. Nothing less, nothing more.
2012-06-21 15:19:17
Wow that sucks! But at least you could get a decent job now :)

We have the same system as in Germany I guess.
- You'll get paid for studying in high school and university
2012-06-21 15:20:42
same here :/
2012-06-21 15:28:22
Yeah, I'll have more than 50,000 USD in debt when I graduate. I wish the government had given me money to go to school lol.
2012-06-21 18:26:50
My biggest dream is to move to Australia...
2012-06-21 19:51:15

of course i remember :)

sucks that you have to pay more, i thought it was expensive enough. At least you will get a good "named" degree, and an experience of a lifetime (living in another country, especially AUS).

2012-06-22 08:16:43
Yeah, lets see, hope everything goes good, planning to stay here for future.
People, lifestyle, everything is good, Even government facilities as far i know
2012-06-22 08:26:04
You have to pay 23,000 USD every year? May i ask where u get the money from?
2012-06-28 12:34:56
You guys are lucky to get such facilities, well in my case my parents have to pay the money and its almost 26k a year
2012-06-28 12:43:22
wait. how can you own them money ? :)
2012-06-22 23:27:09
by: GoMeZ - HLTV.org

it's how it works.

Firstly you need to be very smart to be accepted, then you 'buy' the degree so to speak. Still takes like 3years or more to do the degree and you still have assignments, exams and stuff except when you finish (assuming you pass) you then owe them money.

For example, IT is about 20,000euro, doctor or lawyer is closer to 50,000euro.

Then once you start earning money (taxable income) they start taking some of it out (like a tax). They currently take 1000euro of mine a year... but as i earn more, it will get higher until it's paid off.
2012-06-23 03:38:15
well okay i can see it helps the country. But really it sucks :D
2012-06-23 21:29:06
in portugal isnt received, but we pay a lot, the state doesn't give us anything .. we have to pay per month between 300-900€ to study this in college, in normal school we have to pay tuition to study and only the poorest people receive bonuses of 50-200 € Portugal lol basically sucks :) if you want money get a job xd

2012-06-21 23:33:02

2012-06-23 04:49:29
It's like that...
2012-06-23 12:23:52
come to bosnia and try to survive, let me explain it to you:

a regular family will earn 700€ per month, thats fuckin bullshit

they survive with 150€ for apartment including other payments;
they survive vol.2 with 100-150€ for food, no part time jobs cuz our universities are more difficult than any other in no matter which country, and still we don't have any valuable diploma, im not talkin about foreign countries, im talking about the situation in fuckin bosnia and hercegovina, im jealous of u, u live like bosses.

and as GoMeZ said, + u r payed to go, we have to pay from our own
2012-06-21 15:18:55
150€ for apartment including other payments? that nice broooo
portugal we need almost 400€ maybe 500€ to pay apartment and water, gas, light, and maybe internet, tv and phone..
2012-06-21 15:22:17
yea its 150€ with other things, internet not included, and no gas, just electricity and apartment + if u have a roomate, ok ill tell u how much i would have to pay if i lived alone:
~200€ for apartments(a small 60m2 apartment)
~100€ for gas
~30€ electricity
~10€ water(because we have our own sources)
15-20€ for internet
150€ for food and other private stuff

that would make ~500€ excluded the payments for school

a family cannot live in a place 60m2 small, a regular 4 people family would need at least 90m2, and if u count that every person in a family has to eat something thats about 400€ only for food. Now can u imagine how people live if they send one of their kids to university with 700-800€ if both of them work a "better" job?
2012-06-21 15:31:29
100€ gas and 30€ electricity? LOL here is 30€ gas and 60-100€ electricity, depends..
we dont have 60m2 apartments, we rent rooms and bathrooms only :p
2012-06-21 15:40:51
700€ per month ? hahahahahahha
Dude you are funny it's 800KM or 400€, where are you livin' o em dzi
2012-06-21 16:04:30
dude why r u always offending people, its 400€ per one working person, if u have two of them, isnt it 800€? im talking about the worst of the best positions, u can consider a family poor if they earn only 400€ per month, what is unfortunately the most common case in BiH..
2012-06-21 16:16:48
I get payed around 950$/675 Euros, a month to study.

DK <3
2012-06-21 15:20:07
I study in Germany...University fees and accommodation are around 25k, I pay 2k per year!

I earn 400-700E per month!

In Romania you earn nothing. The average wage for a romanian is 150-175€. Imagine how is to live here.
2012-06-21 15:26:00
Till yu finish highscool you get ~= 10 EUROS per month. After that you have to work to earn some money.
2012-06-21 19:49:50
In Latvia you get:

-Nothing for studying.
-No extras.
-There are no jobs.

Makes $0 per moth.

- Nothing to parents.
- €200 for food.
- €100 bills.
- €30 phone and internet.

That makes me (-€330) per month =(
2012-06-21 15:26:19
hahah same here
2012-06-21 20:18:23

Actually you can get a scholarship up to 100€ if you study well as IT.
Studies are free.
Not that hard to get a part time job if you can do both.
43€ monthly for hostel.
Free internet.
2012-06-23 08:56:08
In Portugal mainly the rich kids get scholarships and go to school with their parents cars (BMW's, Mercedes, etc) while the poor kids walk or use public transportation :]
2012-06-21 15:28:08
lol same thing everywhere or not?
here, poor kids dont go even to school, no money for that shit they would say.

rich kids dont even have to go to school, they can buy their diplomas, thats why my country is so fucked up, and its not liberia, i put for fun :D its fuckin bosnia and hercegovina
2012-06-21 15:35:01

2012-06-22 00:24:44
get paid for studying? if u wanna study in the best university in georgia u pay like ~30-35k per year and a normal one about 1-1.5k per year :)) ofc u dont get paid for anything. everything is paid by you

im not student tho. one more year to finish high school
2012-06-21 15:28:42
30 000 - 35 000€ per year? =-O dafuq
2012-06-21 15:30:42
yea prolly something about that. that might be a lil bit more. but exactly for studying about 25k and i added some other stuff.

+ sorry i messed up. i ment overall payment is about that

30-35k is pretty normal for good universities, I don't know if you can compare them with good ones in America or well known unversities in europe though.
2012-06-21 15:47:35
yea but i think i messed up with year and overall. i ment overall payment would be like that. yea ofcourse its normal but not for our country. the country is just growing up its economy and tourism. the quality of life isnt even compareable
2012-06-21 15:50:02
No grants because my parents earn over £50,000 or whatever the threshold is.
2012-06-21 15:29:43
50 000 a month?
2012-06-21 15:31:19
year :D
2012-06-21 15:32:33
Who knows, but this salary for a year sounds imaginable x).
2012-06-21 15:35:56
Per year, obviously.

In England, the less your parents earn the more you get for student grants, basically.
2012-06-21 16:04:40
Yeah thats what I've heard too :}
2012-06-21 17:17:42
Sucks, when you're older than 18 you're an adult, thus your parents shouldn't even be involved.
2012-06-21 18:24:14
lol
2012-06-21 15:32:33
all highest marks = $50
2012-06-21 15:31:09
I pay around USD 450 to study on a decent private university, because public ones are always on strike.
The only money I get is from my parents and from my job. That's how things work in 3rd world countries. You guys should feel lucky :)
2012-06-21 15:32:19
so true
2012-06-21 15:55:57
+1
2012-06-23 01:53:01
SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU FUCKTARD. YOU DON´T STUDY IN A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY BEACUSE YOU ARE STUPID AND EVERYBODY IN BRAZIL WILL SAY THE SAME. IN BRAZIL FEDERAL UNIVERSITY ARE THE BEST ONE AND YOU NOW IT EVEN WHEN THEY ARE "ON STRIKE". SO STFU AND GET RAPED BY FEDERAL STUDENTS!! PEACE
2012-06-23 08:48:06
Well, you are the kind of person we have to deal in Brazil, dumb as fuck and that thinks that is smart. Stop posting here and go eat some bananas while I tell you some things:
1) There's no public university with the course of Medical Physics in Brazil (at least not in RS, SC, PR).
2) I studied 1 semester in a public university and it was funny because some days teachers just didn't show up. They don't give a fuck about teaching, they just want the money they earn with theirs researches.
2012-06-23 16:27:03
bitch, in federal university they demand more from you then private. In private university you are paying they have to help you in federal you are all alone and thats what makes you good professional in the future and you know it. Of course there is good private but any shity federal university is good as any awesome private!
2012-06-23 21:49:13
Bitch, you just made my point: "in federal you are all alone". Teachers don't give a shit and you won't have opportunities to work with then because they simply don't want competition.
I have a lot of classmates that are graduated in federal universities and guess what? They are all unemployed because in MY FIELD federal university prepares you only to do researches, and not to have a job in industries and hospitals.
And I'll just reply to you once again when you talk to me like a man, not like a monkey. Have a nice day.
2012-06-23 22:04:37
-27 EUR Internet 100/10
- 430 EUR apartment, electricity included

+ 316 EUR studying
+ 114 EUR rent relief

Books are costly, but I'm a Comp Sci major so we rarely need to read books back-to-back.

I also steal toilet paper from public restrooms and napkins and plastic cutlery from fast food restaurants to save mad cash

hahaha so how much do you save that way?
2012-06-21 18:25:55
The cutlery only saves time, naturally. The toilet paper (paper towels) saves the need for buying any at all. Ever!

2012-06-21 15:45:54
Funny how most of "rich" countries must pay for studies and f.ex in Poland if you have good results on matura (baccalaureate ?:D) you can get pretty easily to Public Universities (some of them are considered among best in Europe) and you must pay only for signing up.

2012-06-21 15:47:01
thats how the system works all around the world
2012-06-21 15:53:22
As i read not in every country ; d.

You must pay tuition fees (low but still you must pay...) like in private university.

are we now talking about private universatiy whithout money support or are we talking about as you said respected elite university where only the best attend? i dont get your point? for sure you have to pay if you dont get specific results/grades to attend that for free. but that was your point? so whats the meaning behind your statement?

Conclusion is that f.ex. in our country you don't have to pay every month on public universities like "...Higher education in Portugal provided by state-run institutions is not free, as a tuition fee must be paid, although being much lower than the tuition fees of the private ones." and in Germany "From 1972 through 2006, public universities were free of tuition fees; however, since then some states have adopted low tuition fees.". It's hard to express what i meant in english :D
2012-06-21 17:05:13
you earn money studing o.O
lucky bastard
2012-06-21 15:55:41
and you are sad 'cause of that ? hahaha omg

In Bosnia we got 0 euros/dollars/KM per month! If you don't work, and here, job is something you hardly can find.

So stfu and enjoy
2012-06-21 16:00:08
Nerf your education system,

in here you either get supported by parents like a small kid on university or u find a job and quit school soon, since doing both is not very real in here, you can ofc do half-time job, but then you realize, that time you spend in school is useless compared to time you make money and career
2012-06-21 16:05:45
I want to cry. :( What a numbers... I'm currently in high school and I don't earning anything currently, but my family has earnings about 400e/month and we have same prices as Germans. (I know because my father is a van driver and he travels a lot through Europe. (something is even more expensive except for Alcohol and cigarettes).

In Serbia if don't get enough points to get on country's budget, you can't even study because being a student is very expensive here 'cause of really low salaries, except if your family can finance you but that's not possible in the most of the cases... (average salary 300e :( ) Not to mention unemployment of 22%...

In so-called western countries: do you obtain some money just because you are students or is it due to the high grades?
2012-06-21 16:39:10
In Denmark when you're over 18 you get money for attending school/studying. Grades has nothing to do with it.
2012-06-21 16:55:18
Wow, I thought money for nothing was only a song sung by Dire Straits and does not happen in real life, I was wrong.
2012-06-21 18:10:26
18-year old student till you get 21:

- Living at home (before taxes):
--- You get ~170€, and that's the base rate. (most common)
--- Then you're able to get a supplement, which is 210€ (dependent on your parents' income).
--- In total: ~390€ a month (If you get a supplement)

- Living by yourself (with specific approval and before taxes):
--- You get ~490€ a month (most common)
--- Then you're able to get a supplement, which is 273€ (dependent on your parents' income).
--- In total: ~763€ a month (If you get a supplement)

21-year old student and older (before taxes):

- Living at home:
--- You get ~380€ a month (without any specific approval)
--- In total: ~380€ a month

- Living by yourself:
--- You get ~763€ a month (without any specific approval)
--- Then you've the opportunity to apply for housing contributions (which will varie from municipality to municipality.)
--- In total: ~763€ a month (+ the ability to get housing contributions)

And what is average or median salary in Denmark?
2012-06-21 23:11:12
In 2008 the average salary was around €3000 a month.

The lowest salary in Denmark (if you're over 18) is around €13/hour, so if you have a fulltime job with no skills whatsoever, like if you are employed in a super market, you will earn about €2000 a month before taxes.
2012-06-22 11:53:59
Thank you. So, in fact, these numbers written by RALLEK aren't that high.
2012-06-22 12:09:30
Some people are "whining" a bit when on SU, because it's low compared to a normal income and you don't have that much to buy food+extra for, but if you make a budget it's easy not to waste all your money. Apartments though are quite expensive in the bigget cities, it's not uncommon to pay €800 for a two-bedroom apartment. But besides from that you can easily being 100% focused on your studies and still remain out of debt for the entire time you're studying. :)

My budget for the next 5 years when I'm studying:

SU: ~€600 (after taxes)
Parents: €600
Income from youtube: €50

Food: -€150
Apartment (incl. all expenses): -€250

So I will have about €850 each month for fun/savings. Damn I'm spoiled.
2012-06-22 12:19:28
I think there is no point in "whining" since the money you get is money for nothing. I don't know how spoiled anyone must be to complain that he/she doesn't get sum equivalent to normal income _for_nothing_ oO . But Im aware of the fact that in so-called western coutries social state do much to "spoil" people that way.

In Poland you get cash only if you have high grades and/or you are from poor family. If you don't meet any of these two conditions, you get nothing. I think it's pretty fair.
2012-06-27 12:38:06
when my parents have paid hundreds of thousands in taxes every year and been good contributors to the society, they expect the state to back me up when I'm studying. I don't really know about "money for nothing", although I didn't directly have a part in it.

when I'm 67 and retired, I've also contributed financially so that the next generations will have the opportunity to end up debt-free after studies.

Well... And imagine students do not get money for nothing. Then your parents would not have to pay thousands in taxes.

If you think that paying so much in taxes, supporting an army of clerks and then get your money back for your children is better than not giving money for nothing and not paying so much in taxes... I think is weird.

Post edited 2012-06-27 17:41:12

What's "weird" and not wasn't the subject, but I however agree. Unfortunately the majority in Norway doesn't, but it obviously depends on how much money you(or your parents) make. Social-democratic societies are all about supporting the weakest link before the rest(all the way from 1st grade in school), and that is of course an arguable choice of priority.
2012-06-27 20:07:07
It's considered as an investment for the state. They invest in education so young people get motivated to take better educations and later on earn more money, thereby paying more back in taxes.
2012-06-27 14:13:42
Is it the case that if the state didn't support people by giving them money for nothing then these people wouldn't become students?
In Poland students don't get money for nothing and I am sure we have here too many students...
2012-06-27 17:42:57
In Denmark we are currently having too many unemployed uneducated people. And surely more people are going to school if they can profit from it instead of being in debt when you're actually done studying.

2012-06-27 17:44:32
Mhm, so maybe it is somehow justified.
2012-06-27 17:46:00
I think it is. Every year we have more and more graduates, and the government support is to ensure that one can focus on studies while taking them instead of having your mind on your job or being able to survive.

This way it's not only the wealthy who have the chance to get good educations, everyone has.

Estonia
Average gross salary 865 € / ca. $1,162, monthly (4th quarter of 2011)
2012-06-22 16:06:47
Life is cheaper in Estonia.
2012-06-22 22:11:23
not really
2012-06-22 23:14:44
It is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purchasing_power_pari..
OECD comparative price levels
Denmark 158
Estonia 89
2012-06-27 13:26:01
If to compare, our average salary ~800 euro, when their 3000. It's how Estonian stupid politicians comparing Estonia to Finland. That our gas and food are cheaper, but to be honest the distinctions aren't so big.
2012-06-27 14:26:38
But thant doesn't mean that Danish people live 3000/800=3,75 times "better" than Estonian people. Life in Denmark is 1,78 times more expensive. These numbers I wrote are describing CPI (consumer price index) and they take int consideration food, gas, electricity and everything that "consumers" buy.
2012-06-27 17:37:05
I understood, but you need accept that they live better :)
2012-06-27 19:49:24
Of course they do, I just wanted to point out that comparing average salaries regardless of differences in prices is not the best idea.
2012-07-06 17:54:45
your average salary is about our 7 Months plus average salary
2012-06-22 15:37:14
And prices in your contry are several times lower thank in Denmark:

and they spend it all on food etc...
and the pic need update from 2010 to 2012

2012-06-27 13:37:01
Mind me asking... If both of your parents make lets say 2500€ (since not everyone makes 3k) that makes up 5000€. How much money do you have left after you pay for everything (food, apartment, living expenses)? I read some comments and for 2 bedroom appartment u pay ~800€. Leaves ~4000. Then you have electricity, internet & tv, water etc., lets say that these expenses are 300€ (corrcet me if its more because i don't know). You still have ~3500€ left. Now since i realy don't know how cheap/expensive is your food i say that u pay another 500€ for decent food. Still leaves you about 3000€. Then you have some other bills for car, insurance and so on. Lets say that all other bills are another 1000€ (im just guessing xDDDD). And still you have about ~2500€ left for everything else that you don't realy need?? I think that is something called heaven ? ^^
2012-06-28 12:57:10
Well I don't know. Never done a budget for a family :) But there is 40% taxes if you make 2,5k each.
The prices for an apartment depends on various things, especially location.

You should be able to live decent if you are single and have a job that doesn't pay that well, so a family should do fine, even with kids.
2012-06-28 14:14:53

In Romania there is no money for meds, old retired people, and cancer pacients.
You think they would give money to me to spend it on bitches and wine? ><

Actually, I forgot, we DO get paid here as students, but only until we reach 18. And the fabulous sum we earn is ~9 euros/ month.
After 18, you either get a fkin job and work your ass off for a little money to eat and stay alive, or, if you have decent parents, they will support you to go to an university and study 4 more years. Obviously, you will need to get a job as well.
Here everybody works, but somehow, the economy is the worst in Europe after Greece. While the rich get richer.
2012-06-21 17:53:35
in romania to get money from school you need to be top 10 of your profile and year. and it's about €150
2012-06-21 17:57:03
If I knew that, I would have actually given a shit in highschool and started learning. :(

In BiH either u will be a self-financing student , or extramural (which costs a lot when u consider bosnian wages) or u will be regular student without paying or recieving anything , ofcourse . If university accepts like about 40 regular students on certain course , half of them will be accepted by their "connections" , so their highschool grades doesn't matter whatsoever. Other half are ones who don't have any connections and ones who come from random families. So .. B&H = Corruption and connections in every possible state institution wether it was university , having a scholarship , being treated at hospital , getting a job and etc Despite all of this , people still act like they live like kings here . Almost everyone has a car (btw u can mostly see 1 person in a car which is ridiculous). People work till 4 pm . Young girls and guys are always dressed well and are drinking coffies everyday , partying at night , spending money on unecessary bullshit and etc etc
2012-06-21 18:55:50
i dont get shit for studying, cause i got to big fortune :( but i work to my father 1 day per week, and that makes things go round, dont realy know what its normal to get in Norway
2012-06-21 19:03:32
WoW :S ,, u guys get paid to study , and here we pay to study. Although there are a few scholarships, very few people get that and the amount we recieve aint enough . Damn , Europe so keewl .
2012-06-21 19:07:01
670$/ semester in collage, i don't get no scholarship.
500$ in rent.
160 $ in gas.
300$ for food.
40$ car insurance.
around 160$ in books.
I work part time for like 20-25h a week. My parents don't give me money, so i have to do it all on my own, and yes i don't have any debt, or loans.
2012-06-21 19:31:45
good for you. U can now marry and have kids
2012-06-21 20:44:18
ahah already married.
2012-06-22 00:08:04
(un)fortunately i live still with my parents so
rent = 0€
part time job = ~100€ per month [don't really wanna spent my time getting more money i need ]
for studying i got shit cuz it's been 1st year for me and i wasn't really getting as much atention to school as i should to be one of the very best students..
worst is that i spend most of my money on food and shit..
so food = -50€
rest = random going out on so..
2012-06-21 20:13:01
Why do you buy shit?
2012-06-22 02:00:16
will get 350€, just because I'm studying... and I'm still living with my parents :P, that's how it works here.

"Only 950$"

:(
2012-06-21 22:44:40
Huh, with 950$ a month I can imagine whole-life studies :D, because 950$ is almost average salary in here :-/.
Even if you study doctorial studium (academical degree Ph.D. or D.Phill - doctor of science), you will get only ~240€ here as a salary for doing scientific researches.

2012-06-22 11:19:36
In the college where I study, they give around 60 euros/month to the top 10 students (top 10 for each section).
And working part time you could gain around 100 euros/month, although here people often gain more from tips than from their actual wage.

1150 E per month nice bro! here some families get under 1000 and they are working 8 hours per day , 7 days per week !
i got only like 150 E my entire year....because i was top 5 @ school
2012-06-21 23:41:31
nerd ?! :))
2012-06-27 13:07:23
I get around 200euro per month for studying and beside that I am also working 2 days per week.

I get something like 600-700euro monthly
2012-06-22 00:41:49
I get 1700€ for studying in 1 year(scholarship) but this is because i began studying immidiatly when i graduated from high school. As you know we can work 50 days as a student without paying taxes, depending on what job you have you make around 80€ a day after that we pay 55% on taxes like all the rest.
I still live with my mom she pays 800€ rent almost 300€ electricity per month and 100€ water per month.
But if you go working before you go to college/uni we get employment's paycheck every months that's around 600-1200€ a month.

Imo thats not that bad if you see what other people need to pay to go school in the first place.

Conclusion:
EU economy is fucked.
2012-06-27 20:19:11
we here doesnt receive anything ... corrupt country fosho and many but many people doesnt go to university because of the lack of money... and maybe ill be one of them lol we are only good on football and only corrupts are rich.. except football players.. tbhonest they receive a lot of money and there is a lot of family's suffering of the lack of money and they didnt even have money to eat... and top players and medium players receive money in one month... that medium class people would get in 100years

In India, we pay to study and doesn't get anything in return unless we find a decent job. The fees in govt. colleges is low but in private institutes, its way too high. There are scholarships, but one has to work very hard to get anything from them.
<3 your nation where they pay you for studies.

And yes, about the part times, here the salaries are just too low if one even manages to part time. They won't be enough to sustain a girlfriend tbh :-P
2012-06-22 07:03:00
In sweden we get around 120 euros per month from the state and we don't pay for college, well we sort of do with taxes but otherwise we don't pay.
And you can also have a part time job over the weekends if you want to, just to earn some extra money.

in uk i pay 3700+ pounds / year for tuition fee but the students that started uni this year pay 3 times more. depending on your university u get a bursary. at my university you get 600 pounds per yer if you're not uk national and 900 if you are. also if you are uk national you can get a maintenance grant which i don't know how much it is.
besides this you can get an tuition fee loan so you can pay the taxes after you finish school and start working.
i'm also working part time for 6 pounds / hour.

The school gives me arround 800 euros, and i earn arround 800 euros because i'm working 2 weekend per month.
2012-06-22 23:53:24
Im in highschool and I get 68e/month and only the books cost 50-120 euros/month so thats not so good. In Finland, if your parents arent wealthy or willing to pay your bills, you must work at the same time as you study. Normal day is like first you go to school (usually 8:00 - 15:00 or 16:00) and after that you go to work (evening job) and come home 21:00 - 22:00. So not much freetime...

i receive 1150 euros from my work every month , worker/student
2012-06-23 03:00:56
If u are not on state budget u pay for your studying on a state owned university from 500€ - 2500€ per year depends on what u study. Only the best students get scholarships which are from 50€ - 250€ per month and they get paid from municipalities, ministry of education, young talents fond etc...
Only the best students who are living 50km or more from the universety get the room in dorms. Dorms cost 15€ per month, and u get a room with a roomate and 2 desks, 2 beds and 2 wardrobes + kitchen and bathroom which are shared by one more room in some dorms.
U can eat at student canteen. Breakfast is 0.25€, lunch is 0.55€ and dinner is 0.4€.This is how the lunch looks like http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/427.. in market is 0.5€ and for lunch u get some chocolate or fruit or something to drink)
http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s72..
and this is dinner
http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s72..
Price of one hamburger is 1.2€ - 2€, so u get 3 meals in student canteen for the price of a hamburger.
If u are not amongs the best in your faculty and u are from some other town u need to rent a place which will cost u from 110€ - 200€ (bills included)

Private university is a joke here, u pay 1500€ - 3000€ per year and all u have to do is attend classes and write your name on exams and u get your degree... If u want u can study and get some knowledge too with that college degree but most of students from private universities are not doing so.

I don't have any income in school time but I work every summer and if the things work out well I can keep myself for 5, 6 months or more. With the rest help my parents.

I pay like 500e for every year for schooling tax.

100e - rent/month
+50e - utilities(electricity, gas, and other shit)
150e - for food and transport

Romania is a very poor country.
2012-06-23 12:37:35
+1 but we know how to have fun :D
2012-06-23 12:39:57

Then you can't be from Greenland;)
2012-06-27 14:30:43
€761,6 a month for studying at the university, and I can get government loans on top of that. For all those conservatives out there..the government did a study of the net-value for all the educations, and while a hairdresser "only" gave a positive value of €120.000 back to the society over the course of their live when you discount their education, a doctor pays about €2000.000 extra back. Education..it works bitches.
2012-06-27 13:46:47
in france we get the CAF, which covers 50% of our rent expenses
2012-06-27 17:39:49
the northern you go in europe, the more help you will receive, the highest the salaries will be, etc. Imagine if it wasnt like that?? Who would prefer living among damn cold-like-ass danish stumps when you can live by the beach in spain?? noone.
2012-06-27 17:45:26

2012-06-28 13:32:26

2012-06-28 13:54:32
