For what what as I refer to multiple options?
No one, especially not me, forces the user to by another X mouse. If it is a cable problem it can be repared and the user may be enjoying his/her mouse for a shorter or longer time. Just see the mice discussion threads where some users have lots of problem with a given mouse and others do not.
In this case, as long as the user can take advantage of the warranty and wants to use the same mouse, well, having it replaced is the only way of fixing the issue for now. And that doesn't mean to spend more money on it.
