CS:Online is killing CS:1.6 !
I believe that counter-strike : online is killing counter-strike : 1.6 , because it's separanting even more the asian cs cummonity from the european and american cumonity .
As we all know cs1.6 as been removed as a main title in IEM because it had very little worl wide audience , being that most of the audience was in europe .So we need to create a new asian cs1.6 cummonity ,this asian cs1.6 cummonity should be supportive of all cs1.6 events (watching the streams , going to cs1.6 events , etc. ).
In asia graphics aren't such a big factor in games , and alot of asian countries have several gaming tv channels ( OMG!) !
So i believe that if we can creat a (big) asian cs1.6 community (be aware that this new cummonity would need asian cs1.6 servers to function properly ) we can extend cs1.6 life time for some years !

Sorry for my bad english .

I agree about that if the Asians would play 1.6 as much as they play dota/sc2, 1.6 would still living more years.. but if they just dont like it..

i'm just saying that the cs:o cummonity should transfer to cs1.6 (being cs1.6 better than cs:o) , but they don't because their cs1.6 cummonity is very small , so they have almost no servers to play on

i still dont understand why asians dont play 1.6? i really dont. why would they make a new game a mix of a 1.6/cz and f2p game...
why not just play 1.6?

because they have a small cummonity , so they only have a really limited amount of servers to play on , and this asian servers aren't really the best , so they go to cs:o where they have great servers and a big cummonity

You cant kill something which is already dead.
2012-07-06 19:46:56
so a game that's always top 5 on steam after 13 years of it's first version is dead ?

there will always be some lans here and there like dreamhack or gamegune but its not enough. Competitive players will play those events 1 time at the start of the year and have nothing to do for half a year whereas other esports players play everyday or prac everyday for a upcoming online league or lan.

First of all, when people say "CS is dead/dying/alive" or anything similar, they say it because it's competitive scene is dead/dying/alive. It doesn't mean that nobody plays it and you can't join server and play to have fun.

As for your post #27: We can all agree that CS:Source is dead, right? Still, it has the same number of players on steam every day as CS 1.6.

Just wanna say, IMO why are players afraid with the dead of CS?
Really, If you spend your time playing the first factor is to play comfortable, don't care about the others.

Step by step, the human is developing everything in the world, so you can't request many years. My time playing CS:1.6 is unforgettable, because there are some players who I learned alot by them, at the same time I learned, I laughed with'em too!

At the moment; CS 1.6 is my favourite FPS game, tactics, heard the steps and the teamplay is unique in this MASTERPIECE!

I just wish that in one way or another the CS will keep ALIVE!

Such a big moments, like the victory of your own team, with your mates, in a international level, attending LAN events or just watching your favourite team winning the most hard match, will remember your experience for all the life... At least for me!

cs online it's the same... but in asian version :P
2012-07-06 23:38:59
you didn't play enough CS:GO to see some pros.. you just see cons ;)
2012-07-07 00:25:14
asians are into mmo kinda games.... and cs:o gives them that element.. where they can buy weapons, gain silly levels..... accecss more pointless weapons blah blah

i tried playing crossfire for a few days... and it was set up like this... not my cup of tea... but for many it is.

in china, many 1.6 team attend the cso tournaments because the price
is higher and there are not so much 1.6 tournaments.
attend the europe tournaments for them is hard because the travelling expense for them is expensive.

IF they dun attend the cso tournaments, they may just play 2or3 game
in 1 year.the income for them will be too low and the team may shut
down by the company or sponser.(eg. Tyloo)

CS:O is growing, it is not killing 1.6. facepalm at this entire site.

Lets put it like this.

If we talk about CS 1.6 in a competetive term then we would definitely refeer to it as a sport even though you might want
to be a hipster and call it an "underground" sport.

CS 1.6 nowadays is just like soccer/football or even basketball and hockey.

Sure you can chill play with your friends from time to time (Casuals) just kick the ball around a little bit and play it as a hobby, but you can also play it professionaly!

An example:
Soccer has been around forever, and the only thing we change from time to time are the rules.
We don't change the round balls for triangle like frisbees (Meaning we don't change the GAME) and rather not the PHYSICS of the game (It's hard to argue with gravity and physics in general)
because it's good as it is.

Think if anybody tried to remake soccer but instead of the ball we carry a cylinder on our head and the goal is to carry it as long as possible.

Just think about it :)
