I won't buy that shit. Played the beta recently and it is utter shit, there is no way to fix that game in 1 month, there is no way to fix that game in 1 year, the game is a disaster from engine to gameplay to maps to models to netcode. No way I will leave a good, almost perfect CS version like 1.6, to play a utter shit version, just because of money, events. I play for fun, with friends, my goal is my college, not CS, I don't want or need money from CS.
Valve won't get my $$$ for a shitty game, maybe it will get yours, thats your problem, not mine.

When it comes down to buy a new PC, everybody is talking about i7 or i5 3rd gen. etc. etc. Well, if u need a PC for playing 1.6(mostly) and not the other high-end games, u can settle for i3 1st or 2nd gen. or even Core2Duo with a decent gfx card(8400GS works for my friend and its cheap too).
I played on 20-40 fps for about 3 years, before buying a new CPU just for 1.6(and thats 2 years back). Since then, gaming has a new meaning for me.

well i had a p4 3.0ghz and 1gb of ram before i started playing cs, to get 100fps in cs i bought 8400gs for about $35, but if i want to start playing cs go, i will have to buy CPU,motherboard,RAM,graphics card, and a good PSU. now thats not affordable.

Just let Valve finish the game then judge, it's not the boycott time since we game is still in beta. I know it's sad to admit the fact that counter-strike is losing its popularity, and mainly, not popularity, but some tournaments and sponsors. Maybe the pros are leaving, but that's only because they feel they can't play the game always, they have to think about their future (by the way, they all live at ~25 y.o., that's ok). The fans are still alive, and, the game is still #1 played game in steam afaik. Keep playing, keep believin, and the counter strike family will be alive many years.

secondly, i talked to the dev and he told me basically everything about the next patch, which will most likely be the biggest change to CSGO we'll ever see before release.

Especially if you know your enemy plays with AKs and it's almost impossible to wallbang you in your position.

CS:GO will bring more money because it needs a more advanced PC, not that advanced, but advanced enough so that people who want to play it, have to buy a better pc or just a better graphic. So it's not complete, it's not polished, they even say they put in things that they just wanted to try out (that won't be in the release). Why would anybody judge the game as "not good", when it's not even meant to be the game you're going to play at this point? It's not meant to be judged as a finished game, players are privileged with closed beta access to provide feedback in order to make it the best game it can be at release, start giving some useful feedback instead of spreading disbelief. Claiming the game is and will be broken just seems like a cry out from players that are afraid of change.

Theres no reason why the pro-mod code cant be migrated to the csgo version of the source engine (and also use csgo assets like weapon models and environment textures). Supporting promod now will be investing in the future of decent counter strike. Promod is much closer to 1.6 than CSGO will ever be with hidden path developing it. (These are the guys that tried to implement rocket launchers and dogs in source). The promod guys know what they are doing, they know what the 1.6 guys want and are working hard to make it happen.
