Sensei is the worst piece of shit I've ever tried. Don't buy a mouse from SS. I repeat, do NOT buy a mouse from SS.
2012-07-19 20:19:51
any arguments ?

Sure, I don't even know where to start.
After one week of completely normal usage, nothing out of the ordinary, the SS mouse starts with its infamous bugs. The sensor doesn't track properly at all, even though I tried three mousepads with different surfaces. The sensor was clean and there was no nothing noticable on the surface of it.
Later on, I started to have problems with the SS engine that was compatible with Sensei. The colour windows didn't even open and sometimes I even had to reboot my computer in order to get them to work. The whole program also crashed occasionally without any error messages. It was up to date.
The sensor started to flip out even more, the tracking went ballistic and wasn't accurate at all. It felt like the surface that I was playing on consisted of sandpaper, the cursor/crosshair jumped up and down all over the screen when I was moving the mouse horizontally. Every game was unplayable, CS 1.6 felt pretty much like I was playing with 30fps, couldn't aim for shit. Went back to my trustworthy (optical) intellimouse 3.0, never had any problems with it whatsoever.
In conclusion, rather go with an optical mouse. Any optical mouse for that matter, as long as SteelSeries ain't the manufacturer. Even Kana had its problems, despite the fact that it was optical.

Go for ZOWIE EC1 eVo.
And as nsis already recommended, staying away from SteelSeries is my advice too.

i just bought a logitech m100. any thoughts on how it will turn out for me?
2012-07-20 23:22:43
I'm not familiar with the mouse. Logitech's been delivering quality products in the past in terms of mice so it's probably just fine as long as it's a gaming mouse.
2012-07-21 00:02:05
I had a lot of logitech m100 and 110 all of them ended in the trash, I give only months than the sensor will give it up.
I have a xai and a canyon mouse, I use the canyon one atm.

I have this since 2 yrs 3months,no problem with it and cheap.

well my m100 is already dead. sensor fucked up :(
2012-07-22 20:26:23
I have the sensei since last christmas. It's definetly the best mouse I have ever had so far. Before I had a Deathadder, a Microsoft X5, a Logitech G5 and Logitech G9 but Sensei is definetly the best. The feeling combined with QcK+ is just amazing. So far I do not recognize any bugs :)
2012-07-19 20:25:36
The sensor starts to bug when doing a fast movement like 360 degrees.

2012-07-19 22:38:23
from where shall I start:
my mouse: in the website it says that the kinzu v2 is compatible with all the surfaces so I got qck+ sk with it, I got the jump bug and im just fucked up, any fast 90degree movement I make I just find myself killed, I have the firmware updated and all the other shit
my mousepad: after 2 months of usage the cloth slide started to split from the lower slide, also the logo is getting black (or somehow)
my headset: after one week of usage the right headphones stopped working, I got it replace but this doest change the fact that it has a really shit sound
yes, go buy "the world's most customizable mouse"

bad sensors
2012-07-19 22:58:56
have you tried it ? on which mouse pad ?
2012-07-19 23:39:06
Just to make something clear here, the Sensei uses a Laser sensor, which is optimized for hard plastic mousepads like the Steelseries 9HD and therefore it tracks a bit worse than other optical mice on soft cloth mousepads.
2012-07-21 01:46:42
yeah, but laser sensor is for who play with high sens, if you move fast, you can be positive or negative accel
2012-07-21 05:44:06
I don't know about that, the only thing I know is that my explanation has been confirmed by the marceting director of Steelseries also known as rush.
He did this statement here: http://www.fragbite.se/?articleID=498&commentP..
It is written in Swedish.

yes, but the ss say the laser mouse is for MMO and RTS players and optical for FPS players

Best mouse IF IT WORKS, I bought 2 of them, the first one was extremly shaky and you could not draw a straight line, I bought a second SenSei, it was the same but not as terible as the first one.. So if you buy a working one, you'll be happy cuz the mice is awesome
2012-07-19 23:45:23
That problem can easily be fixed by just activating the prediction, Steelseries has chosen to name it FreeMove.
"SteelSeries FreeMove eliminates path correction, which makes the mouse predict, correct and make your movement straight. With the SteelSeries Sensei, you can adjust the amount of path correction or completely disable it for 100% control of your movement."

i <3 my sensei raw
2012-07-20 00:28:08
the shape of the sensei is the best of all mice imo but the acceleration completely kills it
2012-07-20 00:41:47
I think the accelaration problems were resolved...
2012-07-20 00:42:29
It's an amazing mouse

you must remember- clean your sensor : )

Good choice. I have a zowie ec2 and it's awesome
2012-07-20 14:10:55
what mousepad u have ?
2012-07-20 14:11:39
Steelseries qck+
2012-07-20 16:39:01
which one ?
2012-07-20 16:40:56
Standard black... Shouldn't matter what I have, pick the one you like the most.. And also know that the qck+ is gigantic... Definitely not for everyone
2012-07-20 16:58:38
I have multi-coloured pad (fnatic), will the ec2 work well or I will problems ?
2012-07-20 17:17:36
This is nice mouse,I think you won't have any problems : )
2012-07-20 20:05:26
Sensei Is awesome ;D
2012-07-20 12:44:25
i've had some issues with the sensor..but i cleaned it, and it worked smoothly :P
2012-07-20 16:51:55
Yeah, buy it, you can change the color of the scroll and the SS logo. Show the mouse to your friends and be a cool kid.
2012-07-20 23:14:14
I've had a Deathadder and a Sensei. I absolutely love the Sensei, especially with a Qck+. Just keep the sensor and your mousepad clean, update the firmware (if you can get it to work, lol), and you should be well set.
2012-07-21 01:49:24
i've used 3.0, mx518, da, sensei
this is how i order them
(all used on qck+)
sensei > mx518 (1600dpi vers) > 3.0 > da
sensei is a very nice mouse with good skates but if u have dust on ur mousepad the sensor will glitch
keep ur pad clean and there wont be a problem
also, i have no problem doing fast swipes/360s ingame with sensitivity 2 400 dpi 6/11

I agree. I tested Krait, Abyssus, MS 1.1, MX518 and Sensei.
Build quality is very good, skates just perfect (Razer Mantis ctrl Pad.) Clicks just fine. I dont use drivers, use only one profile and no macros, so i dont need one, only sometimes to change colors.
And so far this mouse is best i ever had, but i think it is to expencive. I play only fps and don't need all that stuff build in mouse. But the best solution is Sensei RAW or Zowie EC mouse, price and quality must be on the high level.

the best mouse ever.
2012-07-21 10:27:55
I would buy either sensei raw, ec evo or g400 if I were to buy a new mouse right now.
2012-07-21 14:25:29
I use sensei now. And everything is fine, no bugs or troubles. Sensor is good, shape is great. But i bought it for half price from my friend. I think, it's to expencive for CS use. Always wanted to try Zowie EC EVO mouse, but there are none in Ukraine. If u realy want to try Sensei badly, and money is not a problem, go and get one. And soon the RAW version is on, it is cheaper, same sensor and rubberized shape.

I think the best settings for that mouse is
Windows 6/11 + EPP off
400 dpi
1000 hz
Launch options -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms
in-game sensitivity 2-3 maybe, just use which feels best

You wont get an answer here, because everyone is talking about what they personnally liked, i suggest you try it from a friend or something, and try the g400 which i am currently using, then decide for yourself.

go for 3.0, DA, g400, mx518 or zowie eVo ec1 I've also had bad experience with steelseries mouse's
