it is true though. I remember when I started playing people seemed much more friendly than nowadays, and you'd rarely see people calling your mom a bitch for every hs you'd drop on them. It's not only about this community in particular, it's just that the whole internet and the people you see there have changed a lot in 10 years.

+11111111 couldnt have said it better, especially staying up til 6am with my friends scrimming teams from #findscrim on irc. And watching hltv's and talking with thousands of other people. Idling in 15 different irc channels just to support pro teams or ur other friends teams. I miss watching matches and seeing things that have never been done before. Setting my alarm to wake me up at 4am so i could make sure i didnt miss a match that was being played on the other side of the world, even tho i had to be at school at 8am. I miss the good old days.

I miss when CS was big, everyone knew about it and it all was cool. nowadays, ppl have to listen to shit ppl gives them for playing a rather outdated, but perfect game(1.6). Cuz nowadays kids only think about graphics, graphics and graphics. Doesnt matter if the game is shit. just if there is a good graphics, and if the movement isnt realistic the game is bad, and if the sound is too plasticalike(don't know the word), its just utter crap. That is what i miss the most. Ofc yea, im 17, so i wasnt very old back when 1.6 peaked in 05-06, but.. i still remember it as the greatest time in gaming atleast for me.

++ just met with this last month. I decided to visit a small lan cafee where I spent a lot of time but it was empty or guys played other games.I called my friend, we both started playing with 1.5 (or dont know which beta was it) at the same year 2000-2001 and asked him for a little nostalgy and play 1.6, but time is changing everyone prefer different games or prefer to play online at hes home.
The time when I was younger 13 to 17 when not everyone had pc's at home like example me, the lan cafee was not so big only 10-12 pc's but..it was full everyday and we must waited for the other guys to get a free pc and play..but this atmosphere/fun/moments is 100% gone and not just now when everyone switching to other games..years before, cuz as you said the younger generation rather to play with games which has insane graphics example bf or cod mw's or different cs's like it was source in that period:/
These guys dont even know how big fun was the old first person shooter games with their old engines like the first generation of cod's (the first and the extension United Offensive, cuz its fully different than the MW ones) quake or modes of cs like half life dm, ricochet or wanted.

I miss the atmosphere of one of my fav lan cafees where I learnt to play cs 1.3/1.5/1.6 with guys who had age like 20 to 28 and I was 15-16, also in Pink Panther cafee we (everyone) usualy played on fy_iceworld slots were full and played like noobs, but hey we had a lot of fun and the atmosphere was realy epic.
From teams I miss NoA/mTw and EYEBALLERS sadly all of the players retired who were my idols, just to name few: shaguar,xeqtr,rwa,method,ave,zonic,sunde most likely.
