CS:GO Preorders Starting August 7th.
Seeing as though no newspost has been made concerning this, and less people will see it on the 1.6 forums, I thought I'd just give you all a friendly reminder that CS:GO preorders go live today, August 7th. Seeing as though it's only around 5AM in Seattle though, I believe the preorder will go up sometime later today.

I've last played it yesterday actually and it has nothing related to the game i love ( cs 1.6 ). I don't need to open my mind mate as long as I play whatever I like and I don't like CS:GO. :)

i don't get this. you say we should embrace the dumb game and that things can be fixed since it's still in beta, but that the point. valve said they won't make cs:go to compete with 1.6 or even thinking about making it competitive. if cs1.6 is the MOST competitive cs, then it makes more sense to create a game that's even more competitive than cs 1.6 for it to even be considered a main FPS title.

A game where people with top of the range PCs (i5/7, modern GPUs) are struggling to even get 120fps can not be said to have been developed with competitive play mind.

You realize it's in beta, no FPS configs have been released and that's not true for all PCs at all, my friends who have i5/7 processors with modern GPUs get 300+ fps.

I mention the fact that it's in beta because currently certain video options are locked on, for example HDR and bloom effects, which are known to drastically reduce performance. Those kinds of settings are for the casual player, but HPE and valve have also provided the option to degrade graphics for increased performance through a config, just as they did with Source.

Modern games = better graphics = more resource consumption.

It's a known trend.

Hmm Last time i checked when cod 4 and all the other Cod's died in the US over 25 TOP NA teams came to GO/Esea And only 1 of those teams are in invite due to them being the best players to touch COD, 3-4 other COD teams do decent on the game and the rest struggle at trying to adapt. Trust me dude its nothing similar to cod and i know for a fact because i played over 5 events for MLG as a semi pro for Bops.

Not sure how you can justify that position really.
Started playing CS in beta (September 2000) and loved every new release more and more. Absolutely loved the 1.5->1.6 move, game effectively became twice as good for me. Loved it from the start and still love it.

CS:GO though... been playing on and off, typically not more than half an hour at a time since I just really do not find it fun. Sure they keep fixing stuff, but they aren't fixing the stuff that I have a gripe with.

biggest problem here for 1.6 players to adjust for CS:GO is that the game feels LOT more like CS:S than 1.6, meanwhile CSPromod is almost like 1.6 with updated graphics, so CS:S players have bigger advantage switching the game for GO because the 1.6 engine is so much diffirent than CS:GO/Source if you are intending to play GO:)

yeah but i honestly think IMO the majority will struggle for this chance because the 1.6 engine (movement, shooting etc.) is superb compared to CSGOs one:)

and those games showed that SK was just superior compared to other teams with their teamplay and invidual skills ;P

TL;DR majority here who have cheered 1.6 for last 1-10years wont like to change to the game which felts much more CSS than 1.6 :)

The fact that so much community feedback has been poured in and implemented into the game itself. That Valve and HPE have learned from past releases how to go about developing and fine-tuning a game.

Its an easy option. CS 1.6 is dead, thats a fact, if you want to keep playing for fun, play 1.6, why not? But if you want to compete, to have a team, improve yourself to be someone one day in the cs scene, buy CS:GO and play a lot.
We all love 1.6, but maybe think, that sometimes we have to choose what we want, lets give an opportunity to this new game, there are only 15 €.
