Vsync off ?
Guys , I'm wondering why should I use "Vsync off" , I play with Vsync on my entire life and I don't have any problem.

The question is, did you ever try to play with 100fps so far?! I mean for a couple of hours. I think you'd like it then.

There are many computers out there that can run 100fps on cs, even with Vertical Sync on

Wake up already he's obviously not playing with such a computer.

it has nothing to do with his computer, but his monitor...

if he has a 3D monitor or a CRT... he might have been playing with up to 120hz (meaning 120 REAL fps) this entire time.

to stay on topic... I'd only recommend playing with vsync off if your monitor is only capable of handling 60hz, anything higher like 75, 100 or 120hz you should ALWAYS use vsync ON with triple buffering ON to get the smoothest gameplay you can get.

I play on a CRT monitor , with 60hz and Vsync on.

well, you should play with the highest refresh rate your monitor is able to, so set it at 100hz (your monitor should be able to handle it unless you play CS at 1600x1200)turn vsync on and triple buffering ON.

You'll see the difference

Actually I play on a LCD monitor ! :)

had 100 fps with vsync on in my 2001 computer and 60Hz, kool ha?
2012-08-12 03:51:43
60hz lcd is not cool...
2012-08-12 17:17:42
I highly doubt that.

idiot, if you set vsync on, youll get as many fps as many hz your monitor has. for example if you have 60 hz monitor ull get 60 fps, and thats why you should turn it off.
2012-08-12 17:02:19
I said many computers can run 100fps+ with vertical sync on... there are monitors that has over 100hz+ so it dosent matter if its on or off. Idiot. Please read what i wrote properly you dyslexic mongol

Yes Right ..I play with Vsync on and getting 150+ fps . but still i dont understand the part of Vsync in CSGO .. Explain if you can because when i turn it off my fps still 150+ .. No matter i turn on or off my fps remain around 150 !
2013-02-20 08:31:49
Vsync off -> you get as much fps as you define in "fps_max XXX"
Vsync on -> you get as much fps as your frequency, HZ

That simple
2013-02-20 09:18:39
My Frequency is 60 but i can still get 140+ fps with Vsync on .
2013-02-23 00:56:17
I can get stable 100fps but by mouse is lagged when vsync on.
2012-08-12 10:04:53
Didn't you even tried to test it both ways before creating this??
2012-08-12 12:37:30
maybe you using D3D video mode
i used it with vsync times ago
2012-08-12 13:47:33
No , I'm using OpenGL , but the "Vsync off" affects what ?

virtual sync, it synchronizes your fps with your monitor Hz, so if u have 60Hz it will be 60 fps, if u turn it off it can go up to 100 fps (if u have a good graphic card ofc)
2012-08-12 17:06:58
ah okay thanks !
2012-08-12 17:43:42
