How do you like Dell Ultrasharp u2412?

its a good monitor but it's a bit of overkill for CS, you should find a nice Samsung with 120hertz or at least 2ms widescreen 22"

Yes I know that but we share computer. So we decided to go for Image Quality. Which they say my u2412 is very good at.
I'd want to go with a 2ms low input lagging monitor, but..

And by the way I want to ask you right now since I've found you.

Do you know if not setting your hl.exe in drivers menu all to performance creates more input lag?

I'm not really sure why you were asking about the WCG monitors when you stated you cannot buy another one since you are sharing the computer.

The Ultrasharp is an amazing monitor, the only downside is all the things it is good at(Colour reproduction and sharpness), have nothing to do with CS. All the things it is bad at, are what are important for CS (Hertz and Refresh rate).

If you can buy another monitor you want a Samsung or Benq they are optimal for gaming.

With regards to your driver question. In my experience, it has no affect at all.

Well.. I'm not the person who created this thread. : ) I was busy these days finding a suitable monitor for both fps/rts gaming and video watching.

My earlier monitor which is a Samsung 2232gw had 60/75 hertz too, with a higher input lag. Which is around 40 ms. So Dell is only going to increase my performance which is on the top-notch as it is. So I'm looking at the bright side.

I will dig further into my second question about my driver. Since GPU and CPU does render images and work at things there might be some usefull tips I might discover. And since watching markeloff setting pre-rendered frames to 0 on nvidia panel I'm two times suspicious.

Thank you for this chit-chat. Have a great day.
