April 22, 2009 4:09 pm - Valve - Product Update
It has come to our attention that a small amount of players are unhappy with recent updates to the Half-Life Counter-Strike updates that were released on April 20, 2009. Future threads on the Steam Powered forums about this update may result in a ban. The update was pushed to resolve the exploit known as the "Russian Walking" exploit and will not be undone. The Valve team has reviewed the updates and concluded that no further action is to be taken on this issue. The Valve team will continue to support the Half-Life Counter-Strike community in the future and has plans to continue to improve the game as more exploits are brought to our attention. Thank you.
Updates to Counter-Strike and Condition Zero have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:
Counter-Strike and Condition Zero
* Prevent Russian Walking exploit
Server changes
* Fixed players being kicked from servers with an INVALID_STEAM_TICKET rejection
* Added a message to the server console to show when the server has reconnected to Steam
* Made map name and other variables reported by the server stay more current
* Fixed mp_timeleft not updating in server rules (or any unlogged cvar for that matter)
* Show HLTV being connected in the player count for pings
* Fixed HLTV staying in players list even after disconnect
* Fixed server hang when a user connects with a specially crafted info string
* Fixed occasional crash under Linux on startup for SMP machines (Linux)
* Cleaned up hlds_run script (Linux)
"small amount"
90% to Valve is small, ok?

Ok, So you(Valve) has been asleep for a couple of years now and suddenly you want to update 1.6! But you seem a little bit tired since you have just added more bugs and really, you didnt affect russian jumping that much. We can hear it better now, THAT'S IT!
ggpcw Valve.
