NiP should lose ?
TAZ says NIP's dominance is killing the game .. I dont understand how.. im ESC fan more than NIP... but isnt a team like NIP giving hunger to teams like ESC VG etc to strive, come up and defeat them?

I don't really understand the discussion about that. Soon or later teams will get better. You can clearly see that the results versus NiP are getting closer. There will be a team that finds a way to play versus NiP. Even if NaVi lost to VeryGames and VeryGames didn't make it to the final today I think NaVi would be one of the strongest, if not the strongest enemy of NiP already now. They just play different than the other teams do. It seems like NaVi is somehow the first team that slows the rounds down. Everyone else is playing SO fast. That's what I think. :-)

good point.
2013-02-25 04:07:16
A good analysis...NaVi control the play, they have confidence. They are veteran masters of the counter strike format.
2013-02-25 04:29:23
i agree. a lot of people question navi on cs:go because they came a lot after of the best teams like nip, esc, vg.. but they came and they are incredible. i think cs:go world is getting more competive, teams are improving.

VeryGames is the slowest team CSGO team. That's for sure.
2013-02-25 09:49:09
Might be true actually because at the Mad Catz event I saw plenty of rounds they couldn't plant the bomb because they were too slow. From what I've seen of NaVi yet they play this kind of style better than VeryGames.

Also NaVi doesn't commit to their tactics what other teams often do. If they have a 3on4 or whatever situation they always slow it down and start to build up a new offensive.

Not completely true. n!faculty are a very slow paced team.
2013-02-25 14:42:14
They're quite slow but their tactics aren't any good. The rotation of NaVi is way better. N!faculty barely fakes good and they tend to rush B on many maps. LOL
2013-02-25 16:30:52
Dominance has never killed a game before, and it never will. Theres just no logic in that statement. If they want to win, they need to get better.

Something that is more likely to kill a game is total randomness and 10 teams that beat eachother back and forth. That would mean less sponsors per team (since team X wins 1 out of 10 events), less money invested into the game, game dead.
2013-02-25 03:27:36
+1 Yeha dominance never killed the game, it just dissapoints fans thats all. I dont find any reason why TaZ stated its killing the game .

One reason may be that teams are paying to go to lans with no chance of 1st prize

Yes, its not their problem, but this doesnt make lurppis wrong.

Clearly worked.
2013-02-25 21:29:20
Its killing the game in a way that financially everything comes down to how many people can streams attract , and with NiP destroying everything many people (including me) just decided to miss the finals and maybe other non interesting games when you clearly know the winner.

less viewers = sponsors dont see interest to invest = no lans = killing the game
2013-02-25 03:48:51
Well in that case, YOU and the SPECTATORS are killing the game, not NiP. If you dont want to watch NiP, youre obviously not interested the game at all.

Its like not wanting to watch the best person in any e-sport/sport because they are too dominant. Dominance is beautiful, just enjoy it instead of wishing they were worse than they are
2013-02-25 03:53:17

we aren't wishing nip would be worse, we wish others were better.
2013-02-25 03:58:12
i wish to see a hungarian cs:go team on hltv.org
2013-02-25 07:14:23
get practising then.
2013-02-25 10:41:02
And there is a reason why it comes down to the (lack of) spectators that "kill" the game ( which everybody agrees ) , and this reason is NiP being too dominant which result in boring finals , you cant deny that right?
You cant deny the fact that there would be way more viewers for another final like Navi vs ESC , which technicly would be more profitable for the sponsors and the game in general?

And nobody is really blaming NiP , they all have to step up their game to offer us less predictable LANS , thats all.

I think NiP-ESC/NiP-Na'Vi would have just as many viewers as ESC-Na'Vi
2013-02-25 04:12:28
yeah , lets imagine that , but do you still think its going to be the case in future monthes when more and more people are going to be bored by NiP owning everything?

Especially when CS spectators is like majority of East Europe , if ESC/NaVi dont reach the finals in the future its going to hurt a lot streams popularity.
2013-02-25 04:15:57
I'd rather see the game die than being saved by Eastern Europe. No offense given :D
2013-02-25 04:23:46
Wihtout those Eastern Europeans there wouldnt be any big events.
but whatever, I go to sleep keke ~~
2013-02-25 04:29:52
just a tip:

If you know they are gonna win just try to enjoy and look for what it is that make them so much better than anyone else. Like perfect teamplay, great calls and maybe best of all the pure skill handling of weapons and movement.

That's what i do and i enjoy it.
2013-02-25 14:25:45
So true. its like barca (maybe not anymore *sadface*) they are dominating and people start complaining about its so boring because we already know barca is gonna win bla bla.

I say, just enjoy it and if you cant.. well have a little patience its not gonna last forever.

It's just like when Michael Schumacher never lost a single race in F1.

only difference is that never happened, and nip's dominance is real. otherwise, yeah, it's just like it. (when schumacher won his 5 championships in a row, he lost ~43% of all the races during those years)

except he wasn't so dominant that watching f1 wasn't interesting, because he didn't win everything, he was just consistently the best overall, just how it was back in the 1.6 days with teams (mtw 2008, fnatic 2009, na`vi 2010, esc 2011, fnatic 2012, etc)
2013-02-25 05:13:44
And, in that years of schumacher dominance, f1 was full of awesome and talented pilots like raikkonen, montoya, coulthard, trulli, alonso, fisichella, webber, barrichelo, heidfeld, button, r schumacher, villeneuve, mika hakkinen and others at least 7 of these couldve won a race anyday anytime against schumi.

While in NiP's dominance, nobody seems capable to defeat then yeat.

thats bs. He had the better car no chance for them. Coulthard was awful. He had the car but was always worse than mika. Fisichella? WTF he was good in blocking cars thats it. Montoya had a few good results in bmw. But when he switched to mclaren he sucked balls against kimi. Just like with coulthard against mika. Webber? Same story compared to vettel. Barrichelo yeah he was a decent driver no doubt. Villeneuve was okay as well. Heidfeld has never been proving himself to be worth winning a title. Maybe because of the cars he drove. We have never seen them all in the same car maybe then i have to take my statement back

He probably didn't win every race but i'm pretty sure at least 90% of the races (in those days) he finished in Top3. He barely had someone right behind him in the scoreboards. In every half of championship everyone knew that the possibilities of Schumacher being the champion once again were very high. That made the F1 kinda boring to watch.

Another example:

Real Madrid's days (when Figo, Ronaldo, Zidane, Figo, Raul were playing).
2013-02-26 02:25:18
lurppis always hated Sk.gaming (sweden in general), since nip has the players from sk and being swedish team too he is always going to say something against them but if it was to be na'vi who were dominating the cs:go scene then well he would be saying- na'vi so good, others gotta step up, markeloff this that bla bla... a die hard na'vi fan and nip (sweden) hater.. haha and gotta check his fb comment, already saying na'vi will be the one to beat nip. Oh god! he truly is a na'vi fanb0y.
2013-02-25 07:28:44
So? He can't hate something? :D I think he can.. And he can't like/love something? Ah.. He can!

So please, don't try to troll him.

oh plz! reply from Ukrainian is not accepted. I ve no problem seeing all Ukrainian being crazy fan of na'vi, its obviously normal but this is about Lurppis, all his statements are pointed against cs:go and at times he even target nip but when it comes to na'vi, oh well he has got all the good things to say about them. I don know, may be it has to do with his personal relationship with them but as it is seen in here, looks like a pure na'vi fanboy is exaggerating his short term happiness with a little success na'vi just got in this event.
To be honest i had so much expectation from na'vi when they started playing cs:go, in last couple of months they looked really miserable on online matches including the performances against many low teams too but i do agree they r looking in better shape in last few days which obviously is proven in this tournament but its not just na'vi but esc, anexis and other few teams who seem to have a good potential too and might win against nip in coming days but WHY? WHY lurppis has to say all the +ve things about na'vi only? isnt it a pure fanboyism?
2013-02-25 09:22:04
it is
2013-02-25 10:28:29
so what? we all can be fanboys to who ever we like. i also would like to see other teams win, specially in LANs.My favorites are navi, curseEU and VG. Believe or not but even if you are admin in HLTV you can have favorites and you can also talk about them.

na`vi and esc both are miles closer to beating nip than anexis.

don't let the score of final's first map (13-16) fool you, nip were up 14-5 and took their foot off the pedal. anexis could have easily been trashed 16-5ish on two maps in a row and that isn't at all close.

i have said just as many positive things about esc. there's no point talking about nip, everyone knows they are the best. simple as that.
2013-02-25 20:50:17
Still I can't understood what is bad to be fan of some team? Even if you are a newsmaker. It isn't bad at all. ;)

they can't loose, there are no stack of 5 players skilled enough atm to even scratch them. Maybe navi can get close @ chp games, VG is weaker than ever, esc is getting better so is anexis, so probabllly (NAVI,ESC,Anexis) :)))))))))))
2013-02-25 07:08:12
agreed, when ESC, NaVi and Anexis reach the next level, VG will be forgotten. They are playing really bad atm and I don't see it improving. They just dont play great as a team.
2013-02-25 07:22:04
also n!...
2013-02-25 14:41:16
@net IMO, ESC just screwd up the match against them, saw the hole stream, that team wasn't ESC...
2013-02-25 15:27:39
n!faculty won't step up much further. They practice less than the real pro teams.
2013-02-25 16:37:36
Plenty!of time before CPH.. VG, Na'Vi gonna roll.
2013-02-25 08:31:29
Na`Vi, Curse, ESC, VG...

All of them can beat NiP. It's just a question about the time.
2013-02-25 08:41:54
The only reason i see ESC and na'vi not stepping up is they dont truly enjoy this game. When u absolutely love what u do, success is just an eventuality.
2013-02-25 09:04:01
This, i think this most important and we all know esc and navi love 1.6 more
2013-02-25 09:20:00
i enjoy the fucking 1.6 so much but i m unable to improve my gaming, can u plz explain me why?

Stupid statement. Watch Neo interview after winning EPS recently.
He said that at the beginning they didn't liked it, now they like it.
2013-02-25 09:34:43
of course they like it lmao u think they would be practicing everyday if they didnt.. but the question is do they have that burning desire like the 1.6 days and atm their is no spark.

What I want to say is, teams have dominated before, and it didnt kill the game

Biggest bullshit i have heard in a while you find plenty of examples in real sports where teams and people dominate for a few years. It's called effort and training. And in that term that deserve it more.

Viewers arent going down neither going up. If i remember it correctly dreamhack winter 2012 they had a similiar amount around 14-15k viewers. Which for sure was a bigger/known event. I mean 15k is half of the community which plays everyday. You cant expect much more.

cs:go is boring, doesn't matter if with nip or without
2013-02-25 15:15:35
Other teams should stop being bad and start winning over NiP, problem solved.
2013-02-25 15:17:39
oh yeah, just like Barcelona, Man U, etc... have ruined football. what a ridiculous argument! it makes the game better, other teams will just have to pull their fingers out.
2013-02-25 15:21:53
I agree football and CS are both sports, but i'm sorry you cannot compare them.
2013-02-25 15:47:39
you don't understand. It's not about them both being sports. it's the same formula
2013-02-25 15:51:55
Yeah i did, that's why i said the concept might be same, but football generates a hell lot of players everyday. But for e-sports there are many players who don't get to play at top level events. Just saying, the formula cannot be same because it's a different sport altogether. And also the following, players, leagues, cups etc.

Though i totally agree if you mean that NiP winning will only result in others getting better, but still you can't compare it to football =p

2013-02-25 21:37:52
How should I know?
2013-02-25 22:04:10
As a neutral viewer following the scene since ~05 and playing since ~03 I personally feel the scene has NEVER been so boring. The scene is basicly european with a couple NA teams which havn't really done anything since eswc and will most likely never be able to touch top EU teams, there are no asian teams and it seems like the interrest for the game only excist in europe.
The game is also a mess from a spectators stand of view and should imo be simplyfied by removing the clutter spread arround the maps, I also believe that new maps should be intruduced or even remake the classic maps instead of using reskinned CS:S maps to attract both new and oldschool players.
Finnaly the stupid fanwar should stop, 1.6 is dead and the same is CS:S. It hurts I know but CS:GO is the only competetive FPS arround right now and the community should do its best to improve it rather then argue about how rubbish it is. It's possible to make this a competetive "success" if we, the community stand united.
2013-02-25 16:51:13
Actually for me the only team which could beat Nip is VG . But not the actual one not the latest either .
But the VG line up with shox instead of kennys was just so much powerfull on css back in the days .
if you got the trio rpk smithz shox you got the win .
vg2k8 line up wiht krl & mateo shox rpk smithz was really maybe the most dominant of all source teams back in days . but vg2k11 was also as good .
vg 2k13 with scream (ok awesome aimer) but rpk is just and was the best french player (any cs versions )(scream did awesome at prague ) but rpk was like 20 event where he carried his teams to the top.
and same for shox .
Actually scene seems to be really tense .
Now its no more nip vg and some teams .
ITS NIP FAR AHEAD and 20 teams who can match in a good days

VG? The team who loose badly versus them all the times. Na`Vi/Anexis/ESC much better in terms of final against NiP guys.
2013-02-26 13:48:18
http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esther_Vergeer

then youre dominating the game not only after 6 months al teams stil are adapting to the game. na`vi is catching up the golden five are comming and VG just need to build up a new chemistery for each other in the game.
just appreciate that NIP is just putting so much time and effort in the game.
If you can't beat 'em, train harder! take the challenge and show us for the next event!
2013-02-26 13:56:39
it's not NiP fault, come on.
