One mouse isn't better than the other.
It all depends on what you like. Optical, laser, high dpi, low dpi and so on.
What fits you best is the best you can get.
DA is the best for me! cause i played with it among 3.5 years. But EC1 shape is like DA's and i heard EC1 got better scroll. dpi is doesnt matters. Before i played 1800 and 450 dpi. i prefer optical sensors. Heard that EC1 and DA had the same sensors.
DA and EC-1 doesn't have the same sensor, I don't know where you heard that but it is false. I am using an EC-2 I have also used the Old DA, and Kinzu and Zowie 1.1.. well the EC-2 works fine for me, I wanted something new from my 1.1 and the EC-2 workd good with my qck heavy.
I whant to use something new. Kinzu suxx 'cause of accel and to small for me, abyssus got bad shape for me. But EC1 and DA got allmost the same shape and i want to try EC1. BUT i afraid that i'll don't like EC1
I have the EC1, up until now, great mouse. It has good control and it is about the same size of the 3.0 and DA. I don´t know if it is better but it definitely wont dissapoint you.
I haven't tried the ec1, currently using the DA.. But trust me on this, no matter which one you use it won't magically make you any better at cs. Just stick to a somewhat decent mouse, get 100% comfortable with it and it'll make you so much better than if you always buy the 'newest and best' mouse out there.
I've read that the texture is different and at least two reviews have pointed out that they preferred the black one as it doesnt get as sweaty and sticky. I havent tried any of them myself though.
I've read that alot of people have problem with the mouse starting to dubble-click automatically after a while when pressing a mouse-button. Hasnt anyone in here experienced that? Thats the reason Im hesitant to buy it. Other than that problem the mouse seems to be pretty much perfect for me. Im abit curious about the smaller EC2 version though.
I just got a EC2 white 3 days ago , it's a good mouse, not to big not to small.you can palm grip it , claw grip it whatever you like , and the skates are huge, very nice glide.I use it on a QCK+ and it's killer :)
You have to consider that this was the first mouse from ZOWIE GEAR, just like any other mice that are developed from scratch, it had its flaws in its early days. The difference is, that ZOWIE actually does something about these flaws and fix them in later batches.
Bottomline is, if you buy an EC today, it shouldn't randomly begin to doubleclick. However, if it does, I promise you that you will get it replaced. :)
it's very easy, when you're playing cs you don't want mouse prediction on your mouse. EC1/EC2 uses prediction. The old DA uses prediction but it can be disabled. The new DA does not use prediction, therefore I personally think that DA is the better mouse.
The term prediction is new to me. I just looked it up and to me it seems very very odd that a mouse manufacturer would use that in their mice, especially a company that makes gaming mice! I haven't tried any Zowie mouse (I've had a MS Explorer 3 for over a decade I think) but it does make me abit hesitant about buying a EC1, which I was seriously considering. Gah!
exactly, i too find it odd that gaming gear manufactures decides to use sensors with prediction, when it is essential to gamers that their mouse movement is as smooth and precise as possible. That is another reason i think that MSI 1.1/3.0 is so popular, they're about the only mice without prediction :D Razer learned the lesson with the 2nd edition of DA though.
What about the size and shape of DA? How different is it compared to the Explorer 3.0 (if you've tried it)? Cause, as I said, that's the mouse that I've been using for a long time and so I want something similar as far as shape and buttons go.
What drawbacks does the DA have in your opinion?
i find DA a bit harder to tapshoot with, because the buttons are extended from the shell so it's harder to release the keys.
About the size i think DA is a bit larger than Intelli 3.0 but more importantly for me, it's a bit heavier. the newer optical sensor and so on makes it up for it, though...
