SpawN steps down as zet joins SK

Once again SpawN steps down, this time to make room for former 1.6 star zet. After not having won a major tournament for a long time this might be just what SK needs.
zet returned to Europe a few months ago after having played 2 years CS:S in the CGS, and now certainly has to show that his two years of CS:S has not hurt his ability to play 1.6. When zet returned from the CGS a lot of rumors put him in SK before the ESWC finals, but after SK played with their old lineup during ESWC the rumor was put to rest, until now. This once again means that SpawN will take a break from 1.6, whether he will be back again is for the future to tell.
This makes the new SK-Gaming lineup:

It will be interesting following zet and the new SK lineup in the months to come. We will be seeing the new SK team in action at DreamHack later in September, and of course in the Extreme Masters main round. All the action will of course be live right here at HLTV.org.

you know, sk management isn't stupid. they wouldn't pick a player who's really bad. I guess that zet has been practising a lot. It won't have taken that much time to get back to his old skill ;)

I saw him yesterday (really bad match for him) and in last games for example in mix with spawn etc. :) So imo, he plays worse than spawn, though spawn isnt good actually =)

There is a difference between MIXES and teamplay as i've mentioned many times before, zet can play really good with SK's tactics and teamplay more than he does normally.
Now, those matches i've seen him play, shows he has good skill and understanding of the game, maybe he doesen't "topfrag" but he is a very very good and skilled player.
SpawN is a very skilled, oldschool player, i don't know how you could say that he is no-good.
Also #36 is completely right, in all means.

We'll see, but there are better Swedish players than zet, and SpawN definitely is better than him even if he isn't at his best most of the time.
Anyway, I don't think SK will win anything big in the near future, when you see the level of play @ ESWC08, SK just can't match it atm.

I would like to know from a swedish players perspective , or anyone that has followed zet since he has been back from the USA.
Is zet good enuff to play for SK-gaming cs? Since he has only been back a couple of months.

Nevertheless the fact is that since he came back he mainly played for mixes, that is not a stable team environment, and that therefore his weak performances should not be taken too seriously either.
I think the key is that Budak in his statement referred to the fact that he fits the team well socially, so I think it was the first thing they bared in mind and that it is thought that the skills will (re)appear once he feels himself comfortable within the team as a player.

So he's back for good? Earlier on it was stated that zet wanted to kill the time while waiting for the new CGS season to start. I truly hope he will stay with SK and 1.6, but you never know what happens when money talks.

This new is very bad for SpawN because i think SpawN is better than zet. SpawN has got great history with SK & NiP but zet isn´t good playing nowadays.

The move itself is necessary IMO. Sad, but true - Abdi had to quit eventually, and he wasn't what he used to be for the past year. A few fantastic games (against fnatic especially, oh my, what a show by SpawN that was), but overall - below average for such a great player. Zet has a great deal of experience behind him, he knows walle and robban very well and is hungry to pwn after so many time wasted on that f-ing CS:S, damned it be for ever :)
Time will show if zet was a proper sub for SpawN. And personally, I couldn't care less about zet's performance during some mix games right now.
P.S. I'd like to see a "farewell" game from SpawN, like in football :P C'mon, would be a nice show :)
