WICKED confirm GG attendance

WICKED eSports have confirmed they will be on show at GameGune 09 next week.

There had been fears that the former Meet Your Makers team would not be able to attend the Spanish event after reports suggested the organisation was facing some financial problems.

However, team captain Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas has now confirmed to GameGune that his team will be in Bilbao to play for the first prize of €12,000.

In an email to GameGune chiefs which HLTV.org had access to, Wojtas noted he does not know yet how the team will travel to Bilbao, but he insisted that WICKED will definitely attend the event, even if they have to "travel for 25 hours by car."

It is believed that the team will sleep at the venue instead of in a hotel like normal, so the story about the organisation's financial woes seem to have some substance to it.

WICKED, placed in Group A, will have their first match on Thursday, July 23, against newliGht, at 1100 (CET time).

I remember last year, the Lithuanian guys drove all the way to Bilbao and slept at the event, or in their car, not sure. That's dedication!

nope its a Organization(named in english german railroad) they build the speed train ICE. but the prizes are not that much cheap and still wait of delay

Weird for guys who won 3 major titles and a bunch of other tournaments. I mean, they should have won something like 200k $ in 3 years as a team. No money for an hotel ? Stop wasting all your money on beers!

There is a difference in winning the money and actually getting them. ESWC owe the team from the title win in 2008, sure the MYM bankruptcy hurt rhe guys too. On top of that not getting things payed in WICKED, I totally understand the frustration from these guys.

Wicked isn't good Orga, TaZ said in interview that they even dont know who is their manager and what should they expected from Wicked and there is still more questions then answers even still using this site which was temporary and there is no news, matches, updates etc. I hope they will change orga for better, like MYM used to be in good times.
