Moviemaking is a good way to try out your creative abilities. In fact, I think some people get this kind of wrong. I'm so angry that I had to write a blog about it. And the subject today is; overpowered effects.
The shittiest thing I can imagine, is to watch Counter-Strike or COD movies which have been completely overeffected. Movies and clips were you have no chance that all to see the frag. What is the point of this? Well, I know the answer. Moviemakers today are more focused on showing people WHAT they can. "oooooh I can do this, I can do that, I'm amazing.........!" No. It's not that way. Here is an important quote, just sqeezed out of my mind right before releasing the "m1kkis for cosmo memory" movie.
- The point of moviemaking isn't to show people WHAT you can, you must show them a great, error-free, and clean movie which give you a lot of positive energy.
I bet must of you readers are agreed with my words :)

kinda hard to disagree.
You must see the top 3 COTW on YouTube......though you can't see who killed whom......the sound effects and the graphics can't stop people from liking such videos.I agree with you on your opinion..

The generation that thinks 2fast2furious is the best movie made / never heard of tarantino/shawshanks redemption/taxi driver and think fight club is a movie about fighting.

Hmm, well I love your editing style <3 :)! And I also hate when people do that, you can't see the frags, you can only see the "Edit Skillz", whick I really don't like :)
Agree, there needs to be a good balance between the two. Something a la Annihilation 2, imo. That's my favorite style of editing.

When you wanna show frags from an event or something, you shouldn't overedit, because in a FRAGMOVIE, what matters are the frags.
But some people like me, enjoy editing small clips, with sync, effects and stuff (MIXCLIPS) , just because its fun, and most of the times the frags are overused (youtube/AllDemosHere), so there is no point doing a clean edit to show a frag from a person you dont know. Its kinda a video from a MM to another MM.

Thanks, but my point wasn't to present my self in a good position! It was to get you all known what _I_ think is good moviemaking! Anyway, Im always tryin to combind the effects and frags in a good way! :)
I will tell you whats in my mind right now in my point of view moviemaking is not all about the knowledge of adobe after effects its about the level of creativity that you have (new ideas) and by that i mean the way to combine all this effects so the result is a movie that will give the viewer a feeling of joy.I am big fan of cs moviemaking and i really enjoy clean edits but i believe moviemaking has 2 categories aggro cheat movies choked with ugly effects with overused music and clean elegant movies its the easy way and the hard way many choose the easy way and that defines whats moviemaking now.

The age of a editor doesn't care, check "TheHazardCinema" a community of editors, who one "ZiiC" edits like god, there is any CS:S movie but the rest are of CoD.
