1.6 is dying. What could we do?
CS is dying FAST, and it's different than 'CS IS DEAD' which people these years have been mentioning. Why?
1. New players replacing the old players? That's the logic for football, which has superb regeneration power, not 1.6 which has A LOT more players retiring than new players joining in.
2. Do u see new players on today's top teams? No.
3. Most of the kids today will play games with better graphics, not some old and unattractive (to them, don't blame me, blame the tendency of most people on earth who love sumthin which has a better look) 1.6.
4. Even if there r new kids joining 1.6, they can't really step into the 'professional level'. Remember there was a thread here about 'CS Marathon'. The OP asked about how intensive do u play 1.6. Most of the kids there replied about 1-2 hours a day, and most of them don't really play it everyday.
1-2 hours a day? Sorry, but if u just play 1.6 THAT intensive, u will never get 'the sixth sense' of the game like most of the top players today have. Just ask them, what were the sacrifices they'd been through in order to reach their level today. Look at f0rest, the arguably no. 1 aimer of the world. U know what, he sacrificed his high school so that even till today, he doesn't really have a high school certificate! And not just him, I believe most of them dedicated themselves highly to this game. By playing 1-2 hours a day, u'll never reach their level, even if u play for years.
Talent? Bullshit! Talent in 1.6 will only limit how far u will be when u've reached ur peak, but it won't make u 'pro' by a blink. CS is a deep game, and it needs a perfection in every aspects it has to reach a professional level, like:
-aim/recoil mastery (this is the fastest aspect people could master with talent); pre-fire timing mastery; W-A-S-D movement, timing, and bullet dodging (to move like NEO, u have to play INTENSIVELY for a long time, talent is bullshit for this aspect, cuz when u move in 1.6, u don't just move, there r a lot of functions and thoughts by doing a simple keyboard movement, and to use them instinctively on a perfect timing, u need 10000000000000000 hours of 1.6, not just talent like football; and these 3 aspects have to synchronize with each other cuz if u fail at even one of them, u'll never be a perfect 'aimer'
-map boundaries understanding and map rotation (most of these kids r caught and killed at the wrong place at the wrong time, and maybe they'll just copy the 'pros' positions and movements without exactly knowing the reasons behind every decisions; but if u r used to FPS games, this shouldn't be a problem)
-and the last but not least, predicting human psychology, or at least 1.6's human psychology: what would they do next; how every single movements u do affect their minds and their next moves; how every positions of u and ur teammates and the time left affect the opponent(s)'s decisions; how each nades and flashes thrown r used for what purpose, maybe it's for delaying ur (and ur team) movements/strategies while executing theirs, or to anti-rush ur team so u can't aim/execute ur strategies well while entering a post/site, or to give u and ur team blind-spots so u can't guard ur posts/sites well when they r going to take over, or to flee, or to hide, or to be a decoy, or as a camouflage. This last aspect I've mentioned also needs loads of hours of 1.6.
And these professionals, they've mastered ALL of these aspects, and they execute them FAST and perfectly timed.
It's not easy to reach that level.
Sorry, but I doubt these new generation players. 1-2 hours a day? Nah. If it's StarCraft, the 'pros' would have 200 APM, while these new kids would only top 50 APM by having that level of dedication and sacrifice. If u want to be 'pro', 1.6 has to be #1 in ur priority, or at least it has to be the 80% share of ur brain, while the other 5% would be eating, 5% resting, and 10% fapping.
5. Do I really doubt that u could dedicate urselves higher than I've mentioned above? Yes, and yes, this is 2012, not some 2003, where the hype of Counter-Strike was G0DL1K3, where ALL kids would play for consecutive 10 hours everyday, where the kids would play for consecutive 24 hours without sleeping, where 100 PC LANs would be filled with no other game, but Counter-Strike, where kids would skip school for days just LAN each other, where some kids would even quit school just to dedicate themselves for their Counter-Strike career.
Now, for more example, if there r 100 kids at a school, there would only be 5 of them who play 1.6, while the rest 95 play some newest version of BF, CoD, SC, LoL, HoN, etc.
If u were one of those 5 kids, would u skip school to play 10 hours of 1.6? No. Would u stay 2 nights long to bootcamp to train with ur team? No. WOULD u quit school to dedicate urself fully for 1.6? NO.
No, u won't cuz u'll look like a complete idiot.
CONCLUSION:
Today, old school players r retiring rapidly. The 'new' players (or at least, the ones that those ignorant kids mentioned as 'new') u see on the professional scene today r not really new, as most of them started playing 1.6 since at least 2006/2007. And the literally new players, r very limited, like I've mentioned above. Moreover, the good quality new players r more limited.
Even if these new players make it/or r forced to join professional teams due to the lack of 1.6 players, they won't be as good as their seniors cuz their lack of dedications and sacrifices. They r just less thoughtful about the game.
Carn, lurppis, starix, and some others said that there's a big possibility that the next IEM won't include 1.6.
So, what can we do?
Sum1 has to take the initiative by showing this '35.000/42.000 spectators' thing to sponsors to attract them. If we r lucky, they might sponsor us to start new 1.6 cups/leagues.
OR
QUIT SCHOOL AND GO TOTAL FOR 1.6. FORCE AS MANY FRIENDS AS U CAN TO JOIN U TO QUIT SCHOOL. I'M SERIOUS, KIDS, THE CHOICE LIES ON U. EVERYTHING OR NOTHING. 1.6 DEAD OR ALIVE. POLAND OR UKRAINE. POLAND STRONG UKRAINE WRONG. TO BE A LOSER OR A WORLD CHAMPIONNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Oh my god.
(Replying to #1 so people will notice)
My other advice to keep 1.6 alive is that I think the pro players who r about to retire should make an academy/teach young players privately about every single aspects they know about 1.6. At least teaching 5 kids of their own favorite would be sufficient.
And these kids should pay those 'pros' if they really want competitive 1.6 to live long.

Instinct can't be teached, CS is a game you need to feel and you need a lot of time to feel it properly, there's no avoiding way.
I know and I've mentioned it myself that u need 100000000000 hours playing 1.6 if u want to be a professional player.
But, at least it's better than nothing.
But, at least it's better than nothing.
True bro! Someone can show you kind of tricks or posibilities in similar situations, but it`s about 10% of the game.
We have to put our knowledge together and create by ourselves CS 1.7 or CS 2.0, whatever.
I'm studing computer engineering and I could say there are like 20 more who study or have studied the same as me. We could make it! Remember CS was developed by 2 guys, Minh Le - aka Gooseman - and Jess Cliffe.
The main reason CS became an FPS master piece was because both listened and cared about players' feedback. They say - I can't proove it but wikipedia does - there were months that the game was weekly updated.
ALSO I'd like to say that if we move to CSP we'll be able to open Valve's or someone's eyes to contract designers and make the game evolve faster.

Yeah, sum1 also has to take an initiative bringin CSP, one of our last hope, to sponsors to fasten its development.
i think most elements on cs, those guys brought in were randomly.
i bet they did not know how many different jumps you could make, movement, flashes.
partially the must have listened to the community, but they were really lucky bringin those many crucial elements to the game

Well it's true that both bunny-jumps and double-ducks are bugs from the physics engine, but for example the design of the standard maps belongs to them. About grenades, in every game players find ways to take advantage of every situation, so people started to try "what happens if we throw this to there" and so.
But I agree with you, they were lucky also.

o, i forgot thinking about the grenade design :D
it would be nice.
but cs is not as big as football, and still not recognized by the world.

It's already dead
loool
facepalm
this game exists since over 10years and a kiddo want to tell me cs is dying fast
have a look at the steam statistics over the years
it might get smaller thats all
every year another battlefield and cod shooter dies since there goes a new one out.
i stopped reading after
2.
yes i do see new ones.

That's not exactly my point. What I was about to say is, there r rarely new good quality players existed due to their lack of dedications, experiences, and sacrifices.
and my point is we couldnt care less about the kids. there will be always a new talent. its even better that there are not so much kids around anymore who dont take the game anyways serious. 100 of 5 kids might only play cs 1.6 and 4 of them might have a talent for it. thats enough
you cant force them. and i dont want to play these shitty hyped nonsense 24kill streak games on public with kids screaming around! and the game itself is being made whitin 3months of developing time. full of buggs. when they fixed the buggs there is already a new cod or battlefield game out there and no one gives a shit about the old one. i tell you what is fast dying quake live cod4 wc3 and sc1. that was esports.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add, so as many people has said it's the COMPETITIVE scene that is dying fast, not the casual 1.6 scene. Hence I said that in order to reach a professional level, u can't just play 1.6 casually 1-2 hours a day like most of the kids in thos numbers do. The thing is, I repeat, in 2012, nearly there r noone who would take the risk, or take that huge leap, by dedicated themselves enough to reach a professional level.
And no, I'm more into saying that there would only be 1 out of 5 kids that could make it to the international professional scene or maybe none :)
And no, I'm more into saying that there would only be 1 out of 5 kids that could make it to the international professional scene or maybe none :)
tell me one game where you have a bigger competitive scene? hu? yes? hu?
CSS battlefield and co have huge public community but that was it. a casual CS 1.6 player as you call it plays mostly in gathers mixes and teams even if it is just for fun.
and i repeat it. KIDS they dont take AN GAME anyway serious. at least most of them. from 95 of these players there wont be any pro because everyone of them just plays public and never heard about an competitive scene in their game.
tell me how many pros do you get in battlefield and cod which get paid? maybe 20 around the world. now try to fit 95 players from every school in there :D
I know the Gaming scene gets bigger and bigger these days. Just because there is a bigger bandwith of gamers which play other games as well doesnt mean CS 1.6 is dying. CS 1.6 is not for casual gamers. This game will never attract them anyway. And? i dont see a problem with that. They switch to another game in 2weeks anyways. The Steam statistics prove it since years. Games come and go. CS 1.6 was already there and this since over 10years. Maybe CS:GO will get a few cs players from the big cake but lets see how long it takes till they switch again to another game.
as the guy under me already said it wasnt even worth to read your topic

that's why I don't read this topic
Every game die slowly.
Look steam stats. Compare 2006 stats to 2012 stats. Which year has more players?
OFC 2012.
Check CS1.6 NON-STEAM players. we can see more people than 2006 right now.
GeT_RiGhT,Delpan,aslak,SIXER,pasha and tons of players you can count.
.. Could you see them 6 years ago?
Anyway, a cs1.6hater started to cry again because of IEMCS's total price is more than last YEAR.

Yes, I've seen gtr and Delpan on the swedish pro/semi-pro scene 6 years ago.
Those numbers mostly r casual gamers. They won't make it to the professional level if they don't increase their efforts. I'm just being realistic.
And no, I'm no source guy.
<3 1.6 but I'm just letting my eyes opened, not those some kids who pretend to be blind and say 'CS NEVAA DIE! I LUV 1.6! I'LL PLAY CS FOEVAAHH!'

Really? But i didn't see them.
They didn't achieve something to be top player 6 years ago.
did they?
Now they're stars.
Everybody started to play this game as a casual gamer.
it's too soon to think that 1.6's death is soon. IEM put more money to CS this year. Even that's a evidence. It's certain CS's losing blood but it'snot big enough to talk about.
Also There will be a cs2. Valve says CS:GO isn't CS2 and "CS2 will be out before HL3 is" according to a valve employee.
It's more like CS2 will cause 1.6's end in the future.

Yeah, they were in the shade of the likes of SpawN, HeatoN, potti, walle, etc back then.
But, if u have the chance to ask them how were their stories they'd been through so that they could be world class players today, I bet their answers won't be 'casual'.
I was just referring to carn's, starix's, and lurppis' views on the next IEM and their reasons. For the sake of 1.6, we should open our eyes for the worse scenario, and decide things based on it.
I didn't even bring CS:GO. It's just shit. Nearly noone would really leave 1.6 just to play this game, unless they r mere kids.
And CS 2 is still a whole mystery and we can't really bring it into an argument.

You're saying new kids are playing BF3,MW..
CS:GO is good idea to for take more people to CS community. Also some console players who used to play CS in PC can return CS with CS:GO.
Last year everybody is worrying about next IEM will feature cs or not (PRO PLAYERS TOO) because no one of them was knowing next year IEM will put more money to CS!

Console players won't ever look for 1.6 by meeting with CS:GO, if that's what u mean.
Here is the logic:
1. They love console games.
2. They r casual gamers, they love randomness
3. They love graphics
4. They r not really the 'stick to 1 game' type
5. Judging by what u've said, they will try CS:GO first, then they might also like 1.6, right? For me that's almost impossible. They've tried a more modern game with better graphics, features, and more weapons. Why would they switch to a more 'shitty' game (in their eyes)? And u might also have noticed urself, that to really enjoy and know 1.6's true pleasure, u have to play it for some hours. So, I don't think they want to play 1.6 for hours if they have tried and have CS:GO on their hands. Thus, in the end, they've never really felt 1.6's true pleasure and advantages.
As for the IEM, then again I say, we have to prepare for the worse. Or we might be more disappointed later.

And you're thinking no one of them will follow cs's place in esports?
Pro players are coming from casual scene. Some people decide to be good in their favorite game. Some people keep playing it for just fun.

What r u referring to? CS:GO an co.? If yes, I think yes for now there's none.
Ofc everyone would start from being a casual gamer. Noone would ever play 1.6 for 10 hours straight the first time they play it, right? It's about treating 1.6 from being a casual game to an addictive game where u just can't stop playing it after 1-2 hours or even after 10 hours.

yeah but a lot of "casual" cs1.6 players probably have absolutely no idea that there is a competitive world. i just played in pubs at my local lan center for awhile because i had no idea that leagues like CAL, OGL, etc.. existed and that there was huge tourneys with money.. and i didnt have my own computer. however, that was in 2001-2002.. lol. if it wasnt for my friends showing me what mIRC was and that there was a place were people played "scrims" i always would have just been a "casual" player... once i discovered the real competitive side of CS i was straight HOOKED. and still am for the most part, but im not a kid anymore. and you dont need to destroy your life and drop out of school and run away from home and live in front of your computer to be a great counter strike player.. you need dedication absolutely, but dont be ridiculous. public cs is boring as hell.. thats why they only play for maybe an hour or so everyday. and the other ones have lives. end rant.
lold at " I've seen gtr and Delpan on the swedish pro/semi-pro scene 6 years ago" ,enlighten me then please : )
Around that time, yeah. But, they'd never really been on the surface yet.
*facepalm* GetRight and Sixer and aslak were there 6 years ago ._.
also they were top players right?
in case of GTR and Sixer, yes they are. They well knowed as big talents around that time but cmiiw.
i know but they didn't make big damage yet. get my point. lol

Quoting your own post:
"GeT_RiGhT,Delpan,aslak,SIXER,pasha and tons of players you can count.
.. Could you see them 6 years ago?"
How could you expect people to get your point, if you didn't even express yourself well?

They improved themselves then came to TOP teams as new generation.
If you hadn't recognized them back then, it doesn't mean that they are new now.
Argument is valid...But I think CS has 1-2 more years before it starts to fade....
No one from ESC will retire, they are like a family...
I dont see anyone retiring from LIONS,SK,FNATIC or MOUZ
I dont know about WinFakt..but the future is there still.....

Promod only for pro, i can't play this game, im noob soz need cs 1.7.
let every cs player in the world donate like €2,00... i mean, if you have 50.000 cs players x 2 = €100.000 (for those who cant count) good money to play for :D
Anyway, its just an idea... the only problem is how and who :D

1.6 has to be patched with new graphics, thats all. Now, i just wanna show u a fact.
a 14 years old kid started to play 1.6 in 2011. How the hell he could be motivated to play 24/7 focus himself to become good, if there are a lot of people complaining that this game has no future, and so on, he has no chance to become a top 1.6 player cause its too late?

True, we just have to /quit saying this game is dying! Just keep on playing yourself and make sure you motivate others!
Read the last paragraph. I'm motivating them.
i think graphics its not the most important , but remake the most imbalanced maps like aztec etc. . .like they did with de_cbble to de_forge. . .and i agree with you
Maybe because you are already a cs 1.6 player. In order to attract more new players it's imperative that developers lift up the graphics level so that cs would match those fancy games wich the only advantage towards cs is their graphics.
yes , but gameplay will never be the same
the new players don't care that , they only want more realistic graphics like BF 3 , COD 4 and more.
nice
he isn't even trolling.
he is loooking at a real issue and giving reasons and ideas for solutions, not the typical: "cs 1.6 will never die!!!!!!" that you get from 90% of people on this website.

CS is not dying...... I want to believe it.
Carmac said CS 1.6 IS DEAD in America and Asia.
I hope you know who is Carmac. ;)

FODDER? XD
You are beyond retarded...
I was just joking. Can't u see it?
Dont quit school ;]
U have to if u want to be as good as f0rest!
no you dont
Im only 14 in me and my friends would never play any other game JUST CS1.6 !!!
Good job, son! How much do train/practice everyday?
More than 20k spectators on stream and CS dying ? No way dude ;)
Don't just read the title.
move to CSP
or Get rich and start sponsoring for CS 1.6 , Valve wont get money from 1.6 , neither does the sponsors, thats why they push new games.
i am 16 and i play cs for about 4 hours every day. Same with my friends which are younger and same old as me
Nice. Do u guys watch POVs/demos?
"4. Even if there r new kids joining 1.6, they can't really step into the 'professional level'. Remember there was a thread here about 'CS Marathon'. The OP asked about how intensive do u play 1.6. Most of the kids there replied about 1-2 hours a day, and most of them don't really play it everyday."
Since im 17 im counted as a kid and i play in team and make strats etc. And i play 70h/2weeks atleast so your not fully right.

Good for u and ur team. Keep it up.
get a life dude..
Seriously, do u expect kids to quit school in order to dedicate themselves to 1.6 ?
It's seems ridiculous to me, because u cant expect students to quit school and fully drop their edjication. They will be real losers.Like u said. its not 2003 when u had the chance to get along in this world without getting an edjication. Its 2012, and I believe that u wont be able to live well (financially), and u will end up as a homeless loser (worst scenerio, Im a little bit exaggerating in order to prove my point).
I am not underestimating the pro players of our days, Im just saying that they r from a different time, and thins have changed since 2003.

What could we do?
STOP talking about it dying.
STOP talking about it dying.
Well i am 14 years old and i play on high level of my age... and i people just get scared of me because they think i am mini SpawN (somalia) and i know i can keep my school and 1.6 career at the same time just hurry up your homework and maybe put the univerity on pause.
You mentioned kids who go to school as ignorants... mann you are so messed up.
I am just a kid and i love cs and i would love to be a pro, but there are priorities in live. School is my number 1 priority, cause without knowledge knowadays you are nothing.
When i graduate at university i will dedicate my time to cs, but just then when i have my studies done and , i hope, lots of choice where i can choose to do what i want.
So dont be so ignorant because cs isn t everything...

Everybody has their own choice ofc.

1. boring blog with no point
2. I must admit I play video games for about 10 years and I still don't understand gaming community at all, I don't understand why games like CoD,BF,Halo,Crysis are so popular, while IMO those games are very random and I get easily bored with them, the same goes with MMORPG games, in Poland about 5-6 years ago everyone played Lineage 2 and now like 1-2 years ago it appeared like every 13 years old played Metin 2, which is even shittier than Tibia, now many play WoW which I also find quite boring. I don't know what are the reasons for that, I don't think it's only graphics, I thought it's because in older games like RCTW:ET, CS1.6 it takes more time to get on high lvl, but I'm not sure that's the main reason

coz as hoppe has pointed out negros generally have high time preference and gamers are like negros somewhere deep inside a game has to have a very specific learning curve in order to attract them n00bs thats why cs only started to gain popularity among general public when they implemented a jumping slow down with the 1.4 version
so obvious
so obvious
Will u fucking give it a fucking break, new shit has to come up, it is dying, so what? Get over it dushbags !
IMO the corporations are killing cs 1.6
They just want to sell new graphic cards microprocessors and that kind of stuff. Stuff you wont really need on cs 1.6 because it's an old game.
From the other side, many mice mechanical keyboards and 120hz monitors (like benq xl2420t replacing the good old fashion crts)are made for really competitive fps gaming like cs 1.6.
I dont think cs 1.6 its dying. At least not in Argentina (a poor country) with kids that want to play games and do not have the pc of their dreams.
But even if they have a really good pc they will still be playing cs 1.6 just for one reason. Because they´ve tried it.
Cs 1.6 has a "thing" that I did not see on any other game. A thing that despite of the shitty graphics will make you choose it before all other games.
IMO cs 1.6 I'ts THE professional fps game.
It's a really demanding game as it was said before.
The difference between a random player and a pro it's huge and that is why it is a one of a kind game.
I think that consedering all this facts valve or whoever have to come out with a brand new cs (1.7 2.0 whatever) for pc only. Not a multiplatform nice looking skill less piece of shit.
If the corporations stil want to promote themselves with serious e-sports leagues they should keep the really professional-level games. Maybe push to make them BETTER but not DISAPPEAR or to be CHANGED by a defferent one.
And I´m saying this because it makes me really sad to see an e-sports league with random shitty games that come and goes with public level players. We don´t see football or basketball dying or new sports like baseketball (like the movie) become proffessional. It would be ridiculous.
If cs 1.6 is kicked out the e-sports league without a cs 1.7 or wathever joining in it would be like the olympics without the gymnastics but with dodgeball instead. A JOKE!
I hope I made myself clear it's really difficult to me to make my point in English. Sorry about that.

Do you think everyone has enought money to pay trip to LAN event which is held in another country?? Paying a travel + sing up is a very expensive and risky for "New Talents".
+ You lost a lot of money for headphones, gaming mouse, and how much have you won/will won??
+ You lost a lot of money for headphones, gaming mouse, and how much have you won/will won??
lets play shit-source or cshit GO you just need 1 or 2 weeks for become a PRO player :)
CS needs more sponsors so players will be quite well paid and won't need to do something else (which is the main reason why most of the players are leaving).
I think CS 1.6 will be there for cca 5 years at least. :)
It's simply rreplaceable game. You don't need luck to play it at high level, you need training and pure skill.
Btw, I'm 16, I won't give up school (I've got above-average marks), I play circa 60 hours per 2 weeks, I also like partying with friends, I read about 60 news from my Google Reader daily and I still live. You don't need to quit the school, you must have a good time schedule. That's all.
P. S.: Sorry for my not-so-good English. :)

I made a thread on reddit asking for the numbers of SC2. Turns out CS had more viewers than SC2 today. Obviously SC2 has a bigger and stronger scene, but I doubt that carmac will drop CS from IEM next season with these numbers.
Hopefully they check all streamnumbers combined tho!!

Yes mate i do watch both sc2 and cs. sc2 had like 5k-8k while cs had double the numbers :) and yeah i highly doubt carmac will drop cs 1.6 :D with these nice figures!
Problem is that for cs comunity is IEM WC one of the biggest event. If not the biggest. For Starcraft its quiete big event and nothing else. + ESL didnt have a good history of handeling SC2 events. They always fucked something.
MLG finals have over hald milion viewvews (SC2) and they absolutly destroyed comercials TV like HBO comedy or whatever by statistics. SC2 female rtournament in china there was over 300 000K viewvers - yes for female tournament.
MLG winter arena last month - Yes it was PPV but it was so entartaining show that cs or lol can only dream about.
And i dont speak about tournamens a prizes numbers for SC2. Even 1m dota2 tournament look like a complete joke and shit in a grass compared to SC2 events....

I really doubt that the female tournament had 300k viewers, when I watched there almost wasn't any viewers.
All the idiots who're cheating could stop doing that. That'd make the game more fun for everyone, and then people wouldn't leave it. + in Denmark at least, everyone is being idiots to each others, it's a very sad scene and yeah... That's killing the game as well.
i think this happens in most communities, it's sad but true. One of the main downfalls in 1.6 and other games.
True same thing here for French german and many other countries.
Alot of cheaters and flamers.
Alot of cheaters and flamers.
Well, imo cs in Brazil is already dead, look our teams, they are good just here, in a tournament they can't pass the first opponent.
About the kids yeah, it's really hard to see a 12 years playing cs, they prefer some easy2kill games like COD and BF

cs:go is like cs : source just modified a little new weapons new graphs that's all ! 1.6 is the creativity u feel that u are playing a game u feel that is counter strike not another game but when u play source or go it's like u are playing battlefield or new game ! so please MTV PIMP MY RIDE :p
ppl stop posting abt cs die ! it will never die ! have a life and play cs ! you will like it play it enjoy it and u can make many friends in it :)

he does have some valid points but i can't see how 1.6 is dying with so many viewers on Streams (ESL.TV, cyberarena.tv etc...) -_-
It is true that kids prefer better graphics over better gameplay. In that sense Cs is not going very well but only way CS 1.6 can stay alive is through the audience which I believe is still very large and p.s don't compare it to LoL (LOL - a game that doesn't have demo's or replays option which in turn gives the viewer's streaming and video options only)
GG

2. Do u see new players on today's top teams? No.
Savage, Gux, trace and minet, markeloff, ceh9, Xizt, pasha, aslak
They're all relatively new to the top scene (2010 onward)

gux 2010 ? he started playing on top swedish teams since the end off 2007 in 2008 played whit jaegarn Get_right , striker and in 2009 for the best fnatic lineup.
savage 2010? u must be so stupid he played for wNv in 2006 end from then to top cn teams
trace and minet started playing around 2007-2008 for the 3-4 place dk teams
ceh9 he is around from 2008 i think
end yes aslak is the new talent and he is one of the best new players around

ceh9 he is around from 2008 i think
end yes aslak is the new talent and he is one of the best new players around
Exactly. And the years u've mentioned were the years those players had when they had already been with top teams. We could subtract at least two years from those years to know exactly when those players actually started playing 1.6 for the first time.
Then, u know that there r really no 'new' players on the scene today.
Then, u know that there r really no 'new' players on the scene today.
50 000 spectators (+ who know how many who doesnt watch)
250 pro players
50 teams
5-10 retired
CS IS DEAD.
Actually, doesnt matter how many retired, it's sponsor what is all about, and after all like in football you will need to deal with changes. CS doesnt need to die, at most bad case only thing which could happen is actually decreased profesional level (in term of skill if too many pro players going to retire), or they will successfully replace those teams.
If people and players are interested in CS1.6 as is now, sponsors will be here, tournaments should be organised and PRO scene will stay alive. Nothing is over until Valve doesnt announce anything about CS2. That is still important fact.

Actually i have a different pov on this. I think that the sponsors should start supporting asian countries like china Pakistan and India. These countries have alot of passion in them selves. People in here are still crazy about gaming though they know that there are no sponsors in this part of the world and they will not be able to represent them selves outside the country.. and we have been doing this since the beginning of cs 1.6.
You cannot help people who are already dead rather then you should support people who are trying to live.. Countries like Sweden Ukraine and Germany are representing themselves in the international event's almost everytime. But we Asian countries struggle only to represent ourselves in WCG. People who have retired either got bored or they had other plans in life. That i guess is pretty much fair. They have been playing this game for almost 7+ years.
I guess i know this isnt possible but still i would advice sponsors to support the Asian countries.
The most popular country for esports is China i guess? and they only have 1 team representing their country.. i guess they can give much more then that..
Anyways gl to everyone Cs 1.6 is not dying it's just a valve strategy to promote their game CS:GO. what i expect from the current beta game if it is finalized it would just be like source or worse. And then Cs 1.6 will return into the scenario just as always \m/

Hello source fun?
Btw I bet a few bunch of people read all of it..
Btw I bet a few bunch of people read all of it..
Well, dying of 1.6 is a good thing. Hope it continues with higher speed. Source > GO > 1.6
Maybe the kids these days want an education in stead of throwing it away to (maybe) become a cs professional only to try to win the big tournaments and so getting to the prize money. So actually there's alot of chance(luck) involved. And those who did back in the days, well good for them (y). But after their cs careers they still need chance since most of them don't have a degree and need some sort of income. Some of them stay in eSports, which is nice if they make a good income.
Others go back to school, but let's be honest, the older you become the harder it gets to study and keep the interest in it. So if you need to go back to school on let's say 25+, well good luck!

Talking about 1.6 dying is making the game dying.
If new possibly sponsors wanna check out the game, where are they gonna check it. My guess would be. HLTV.org, ESL, ESEA.
And if all say the game is dead, why would a new sponsor, sponsor the game.
So your are in fact killing the game with all your stupid threads and topics.
my 2cents.

CS will defend itself. It's just a temp crysis.
Can back urself up with reasons by saying that statement?
So you're encourageing kids to leave school for playing a game that, even if we don't want to even think about it, will be replaced in a close future?

yeah, cs1.6 won't die if we don't let it, look at the stream views and the prizes bla bla bla...
let's be realistic, cs1.6 is close to being dead actually. It's simple: there are more ppl leaving the game than ppl who start playing it
promod could be a proper substitute for 1.6, but I don't think it will replace 1.6, there's not ó a big company behind it like blizzard or vlave
valve won't advertise promod, they will advertise their own shit instead, cs: go

In order for cs to grow and expand, a new format should be released, I mean we are not a fuvking museum no? we could have insead 5vs5 a 7vs7 format or something, not more than that, but a renewal of format, so then, what so if 1 out of 6 players is a very youing and new talent, but no. because of way i is today only thougth is the risk. they dont risk playing with new, only most certified player, its not wrong, but even certified players can play bad wehere if there was new format the taltnts could have done good even amazing
cool story bro
i hardly think it will die. just because all other FPS's are too detailed and hard to play team vs team as lurppis said in his interview
U talk about kids,well,i can tell u that u are a kid,why ?
if u are <17 yo then u are stupid for giving so much attention and THOUGHT for a game, use your brain to get laid, high,be good at school, and do sports, not how to increase the cs1.6 profesional level.
if u are >17 yo then go see a psychologist, and i mean it.
i like cs1.6,i LOVE cs1.6,but i got to much problems to care who is quiting and who is getting recruited,
dont get offended, just think what im telling to you
ohhhhhhhh,we got option no3,u might be an attention whore :)

Ur mom will never die.
she will die one day, I hope.
Don't kill ur mum if 1.6 dies, u got it, son?
Not dying :) 71k viewers!
I wouldn't ever quit school for cs!
Actually CS is not dying, we are killing it as TaZ said (with other words) in his newest interview.. People lose motivation to keep them playing by posting such threads as this one.
Taz Said Cs is not dying And people shouldn't Say that "cs 1.6 is dying" if You dont love the game dont play it and shut up !
oh rly 71k viewers?
quit school ahaha
its a game chill , if the game wont be played the world will still go on , jesus ,what if cs is dies what will happen?nothing , most of u gone care on with your life, end of story.probably gone get a girlfriend as well that will be nice
Graphicks changes ? look at css and cs go ?
If u want better graphicks u need to put more objects on the map and that sucks.
cs promod sucks too, the aim is a flop and other things too.
Cs is maiby dying but there are still so much players on it. And many oldschool players who comeback on it ? or its maiby not dying??
SO why not add me on steam and pcw//mix or 1vs1 ?
Add me thezapper1
PS: i speak french, dutch, english And i dont cheat.

Tell ur 'graphic logics' to the new gamers, not me. I love 1.6 and I don't care FPS games with good graphics, as I've stated before. Please read carefully.
Many comebacks? Bullshits.
Dying? Maybe yes, maybe no. But, we should be realistic here. At least, talk with backed-up proofs/reasons.

I've seen over 100 posts like this in the last 2 years and i can honestly say you've raised nothing new.
1. You just wasted probably 3 hours of your life.
2. Your clearly not very good at cs, i'd put you in the category of gamers who has seen a gap in the game whereas a few good players have dropped off, you want some sort of scene to bubble up so you can thrive which won't happen because ultimately you spend too much time writing needless shit and good players will return.
3. Do your research, there is lots of new talent in the game and tournaments, LANs breaking through all the time. the only place where cs is dying is North America.

1. And probably I haven't wasted anything.
2. U r clearly not very good at anything, especially 1.6, cuz u judged people based on nothing.
3. No. Show me sumthin.

New players are only hearing about cod games or counter strike source thats why it isnt that famous anymore.
Oldschool players comeback to the roots of fps games because new games are just so lame, i am not talking about pro gamers i am talking about old players i knew alot of people who left 1.6 and came again on it ( played cs 1.5 then 1.6 after that css and again 1.6)).
Anyways its your point of view.
its like quake and diablo games its still played but there arent alot of gamers like back in time, i dont realy care ill play this game untill... xD
just add me on steam and lets own xD

Who r coming back?? :D
I'm playing this game since 2003. and in my opinion, not a bad substitute, with improved graphics will CSpromod. I prefer this version, but you should try. But I still continued. play in 1.6 :)
And once again the thread was made by poland troller -.-
what could we do? well, we can stop doing useless threads about "cs dying" "...2010/2011/2012 last year of cs?" every fuking week...omg human stupidity never stops to amaze me, seriously.
just bring new players show the game to your friends make them like it and stop telling CS is dead we just have to keep our heads up and play and also watch streams and support the game
CS IS NOT DEAD.
But, WEM dropped 1.6!
but we didn't had WEM last year

Huh? For what? You see I'm sure I've pretty much done some researches and seen how things are going by my own eyes.
Throwing false accusations based on nothing=real troll.

Dying? do not know why so many topics in this fucking play your game and not worry about the other fucking noob!
Competitive CS is dying.
I played 600 hours in total 1.6, why am I star systems better then someone with 2000 hours CS then? It's how you do it, not how long you do it.
Yeah, I also outaimed people who'd been playing CS for 3-5 years after my first 6 months of 1.6 career. I had a perfect recoil back then.
But, to perfect gameplay, to fit yourself into today's top teams' gameplay flawlessly and to read it and catch up with it, you need more than 600 hours.

i play cs for fun :D
let competitive cs die, it becomes clear that it isn't as popular as other E-sport titles. You can still play it for fun until the end of your days, just not competitively ^^

CS IN BRASIL NEVER DIE
"If u want to be 'pro', 1.6 has to be #1 in ur priority, or at least it has to be the 80% share of ur brain, while the other 5% would be eating, 5% resting, and 10% fapping."

Seems that we've got no choice other than doing what you've mentioned in the very last paragraph.
