Counter Strikie 1.6

Season 1 : Poland(Europe)
Season 2 : Germany(Europe)
Season 3 : Sweden(Europe)
Season 4 : Sweden(Europe)
Season 5 : Ukraine(Europe)
Season 6 : Ukraine(Europe)

Warcraft III

Season 1 : France(Europe)
Season 2 : South Korea(Asia)

World Of Warcraft

Season 3 : South Korea(Asia)
Season 4 : United States(North America)

Quake Live

Season 4 : United States(North America)
Season 5 : United States(North America)

Starcraft 2

Season 5 : South Korea(Asia)
Season 6 : South Korea(Asia)

LOL
Season 5 : Russia(Europe)
Season 6 : Russia(Europe)

List of continents:

1. North America
2. South America
3. Europe
4. Asia
5. Africa
6. Antarctica
7. Australia

So, as IEM claims that CS 1.6 has lost it's intertest in other continents of the world. Lets analyize that in how many continents did gaming really existed. South America Was never a part of gaming. No team ever won the world Championship from North America. No team ever participated in the World championship from Africa, Antarctice
and Australia. So we are left with 3 continents that are Asia, North America and Europe. It is true that CS 1.6 has all it's winners from Europe. But if we notice that out of all the seasons Europe has 10/17 titles. LOL which is considered as the most hyped game has it's both titles from Europe. If we take out CS 1.6 out of all the season Europe
has 3/10 titles.

Lets talk about Asia and North America.

Season 3:
Americam Championship : Brazil
Asian Championship : China

Season 4:
American Championship : North America
Asian Champoionship : South Korea

Season 5:
American Championship : Brazil
Shanghai Championship(Asia) :
1st fnatic
2nd Tyloo.raw
3rd Na'Vi
4th Tyloo
5th/6th WMF
5th/6th wNv
7th/8th 9ez
7th/8th IM

Asian teams: 6/8

Season 6:
Global Challenge New York(North America)
1st SK Gaming
2nd WinFakt
3rd mTw
4th UMX.us
5th-6th CheckSix
5th-6th Team EG
7th-8th semXorah
7th-8th Black & Yellow

American Teams: 5/8

Global Challenge Guangzhou(China)
1st fnatic
2nd mousesports
3rd WinFakt
4th eFuture
5th-6th TyLoo
5th-6th Anexis
7th-8th XCN Gaming
7th-8th Immunity

Asian Teams: 4/8

As you can clearly see that IEM always got a team from it's specific continent when it had it's qualifier only for that continent. Till Season 3 and 4 they had American and Asian qualifiers and they got teams from the desired continents. You could clearly see the competition between brazil and north america in the American Championship and the competition between Korea and china in the Asian Qualifers. But in season 5 and 6 IEM it self sacrificed the concept of the best teams from every continent representing themselves on one platform . As you can clearly see the amount of the teams representing from the defending continent kept on decreasing from 6 to 5 to 4. IEM claims that the interest is no longer in existence in all the other continents other then Europe. Well let me tell you there are only 3 continents in which gaming ever existed according to your WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and if you think that other then Europe the remaining two continents have no interest in CS. Then i guess you are wrong. If you were the ones who erased the concept of best teams from each continent representing on one platform by removing the Asian and American Championship and adding Championships were the Top teams of europe would come and play then how would you expect talent to waste their time and money to come to play when they know that they wont be able to represent themselves in the Global Championship.

Cs 1.6 is not dead in all the continents. It's just that Europe is the best in all. Still if people think that it is dead then it is because you made it looked dead. We all are sad because we loved IEM. We did everything we could to save it. There were better reasons for including it then discluding it. But let me tell you this community has grown on it's own. Survived on our own and will still fight for out existence.

Sorry if i said something wrong or if my words were harsh or hurt someone's feelings.

Nice blog!
2012-06-14 22:33:36
you are actually mistaken in one thing when you said "No team ever participated in the World championship from Africa"
Actually there was a tunisian team in ESWC 2009 (If I remember correctly) called NAME, unfortunately it didn't pass the group stage after a win and two looses (one of them were too close : 16- 14 vs ATE)
2012-06-15 00:38:01
hes talking about IEM World Championships, not the other ones! as the title says IEM: Analyzation!
2012-06-15 02:51:40
he actually said World championship in that sentence, I don't think he meant IEM
2012-06-15 02:57:25
hes analyzing about IEM so im pretty sure he didnt mean any other world championship. and as the current hot news around is regarding IEM removing CS 1.6, it wont take a genius to connect the dots!

2012-06-15 19:01:13

2012-06-15 19:36:07

2012-06-15 21:36:15

Season 1: Poland (PGS Gaming) (Europe)
Season 2: Germany (mousesports) (Europe)
Season 3: Sweden (fnatic) (Europe)
Season 4: Ukraine (Na'Vi) (Europe)
Season 5: Ukraine (Na'Vi) (Europe)

Gaming and CS 1.6 are alive more than ever in South America and we allways have been part of they.
In Argentina CS 1.6 is day by day a little more played by more and more people.
2012-06-15 05:20:10
it is interesting that - besides fps titles - the winner of IEM lives on the continent that the event is held at. (atleast from what I read off that list, like LoL at Europe, europe wins, Starcraft, held at asia - asian wins. not to mention quake held at north america - american wins)

so this leads me to think: well after thought I contradict myself... I was just thinking, host it at the U.S., maybe team Need Sponsor (formerly B2B) will win (more motivation playing at home, no need for sponsor money)

partly true but i think that the europeans have taken the game to another level. it will take some time before the North Americans can catch up to it. times are gone when 3D, Pandemic, zEx and coL and a few others who could win a world championship. i dun remember seeing a team from NA (apart from EG in the end) which could have a chance of winning a tournament.
2012-06-15 14:47:55
IEM NY was in NA and check6 and EG didnt win SK an european team won
2012-06-15 14:51:28
yea but i didn't include that because EG was a terrible team at the time.. or were they already broken up I forgot. I just wished back 2 back could have had a chance, atleast one shot in a major before the tournies end.
2012-06-16 04:28:44
