Hey guys,
At the beginnig I must say that my english is not so good, but I am bored of reading like 50-100 topics every day about FPS drops, lags in-game or something like that so I will write short guide how to fix this problems by yourself.

I have few friends that are playing CS in my city, and sometimes they are calling me for help, because I am student of math-informatic class, and they think that I know something about pcs build and work :P
So the thing is that after 1 year of learning I know shit about it, but it doesnt matter, because allways when I am going to them, their problems are fixed(because of some simple things that can help EVERYONE).

So, here we go: (some things that can help YOU, when you have FPS drops or pc lags)

-First thing is that we got summer atm, in my city temperature is about 20-37* every day (I cant even imagine how its in Spain or Brazil but go on...) and the PC can get a little bit more temperature inside. So its all about cleaning up and changing fans and put "processor filter paste" once for few months. Without this PC can even get a "screen of death" sometime, so its very important thing. (You can also put one infront of PC, this decrease general temperature) <--- I mean fan!!

-Second things are VIRUSESzzz! By surfing on the internet everyday we can grab like 10-20 viruses. So, thats why some smart people discrovered programs like:
-Advanced System Care 5;
-Malware Fighter;
-AVG 2 Tune Up;
that can clean and optimize your PC without doing NOTHING, completely nothing, just click on the button CLEAN UP, or OPTIMIZE.
(dont know if I can put here a pirate versions of this programs so you can easily look for this on google, youtube and get used CD-Keys that are working well) <-- Its in the same time quite fun, because you know that you are doing something good for you PC without doing nothing exactly. Try it, I bet you'd love that:)

-And the third thing is COMBO FIX. Combo fix is a program that in 5-10 minutes can clean your PC, set it to the best form and also give you advices same as dudes in a very expensive PC centers - believe me! Author of this program is saying that you are doing it on your own risk, but if you do everything exactly as it is write in instruction I promise that there will be no single problem.

I am writing this only because I am tired of reading 902813981908 of threads about this problems, so maybe if someone will read this, then he will be able to fix it by these 3 simple steps without spaming about this on hltv.

btw i have a problem when i am playing a mix/pcw (not any more public servers) have a problem whit the fps when the round start and i stand on the base whit the freezetime, etc... it's all run good in 100 fps whit no drop, (example) go to B site in inferno make my poss and when the other team attack my possition and i see them and start spraying and shooting, there is when FPS drops from 100 to numbers like 60, 70, 80. and my recoil going wrong whit this problem.

if i don't resolve this i'm going to quit CS cuz can't play good whit this problem

do you think that is my INTEL graphic card? because i think that, btw i have a OPENGL driver for that card... but i don't know much of CPU's

jajajjajaa you're so idiot! THE GRAPHICS CARD HAS A DETERMINATED PORT! EVERY CPU HAS IT! CAN BE AGP, PCI OR PCI-EXPRESS!

SO NEED GRAPHIC CARDS FOR AGP PORT! the problem is that my cpu is a bit old so... the best GC are for PCI-EXPRESS...

nVidia 7600GS, 6600GT, 6800
Radeon HD3650, HD4650 or HD3850;

All these cards were made for AGP, but you have to find a shop, where are this cards on store or buy them from "second-hand".

Maybe it sounds senseless, but somebody can have motherboard with newer chipset and "newer" CPU socket, for example socket 775 for intel (ASrock). So HD3850 could be good solution for users with this boards and adequate CPU :). I've no idea about his HW configuration.

You can try to play on default cfg, or change some commands that are responsible? for map textures or models. You can also change models to high fps with cl_minmodels 0 command and try to play with this commands: (put it into userconfig.cfg)

guy, believe me, I got 40 fps of average and in action sometimes it drops to 20(when a lot of action is going on).

But the problem is that I don't have a stationary pc, only a 5 yo compaq's laptop :(

dude only if u are in 2002 its not possible to get 100 fps.... all the motherboards of even 41$-50$ range can play this game 100 fps.

Cleaning the case every few months is fine but replacing Thermal paste is not recommended every few months tho. Get Arctic Silver 5 or antec diamond formula 7 thermal compound and settle with it for life.

and there is a really good software called Game Booster which seems legit

u have a motherboard with no pci-e slot.... are u from the stoneage or something srsly... try getting some fx 5200 or mx 4 nvidia both are AGP solution from back in the 2002 era. u need a serious PC upgrade....

if u have any processor over the pentium 4 technology. u can get a g41 chipset mobo (specially from gigabyte) really cheap, lesser than 50$ and play cs easily at 100fps.

it doesn't alter the game by any means. how can it be illegal . it simply reduces the cpu and gpu hogging background process to get better game play. (eg win 7 aero gets to classis win 1998 style when u begin the game)

I meant that you can grab viruses like malwares, rootkits and stuff and believe me, sometimes this shit can do more dmg to your PC than big viruses.
ps. Even one day by reading hltv.org and opening every link that is posted in "Giveaway threads" or something like that can be enough to broke your PC. (and I know that a lot of people doing this)

2 years so far and no viruses and I dont even have stable virus protection. Every year I once install some anti-virus program for scanning only and so far no viruses...

Do not fucking use ComboFix on your own! I was an „Advisor“ on Viry.cz forum (ASAP member) and I know really good what am I saying.

CF asi really, really strong tool but could destroy your OS in seconds.

i did not use that combofix as warned by its own site but used that advanced system care thing and lemme tell you about the changes that happened.

earlier fps--60-70
current fps--30-40
earlier pc-- ohk i can bear with it
current pc-- SHIT.

Just because i allways insert an air vent in the summer and my computer is allways around 35 max 40 degrees.

I have already AVG PC tuneup installed. I haven't seen many diferences till now. I maybe should test the rest that u said. But i don't know if its worth.

the only thing that ever helped me with fps drops when i had shitty graphics card was changing priority on 'steam.exe' to lowest in process tab
