CS:GO, Promod, and the 1.6 future
Hey guys - long time no see.
It's been a while since I have had the time to really check out the site because of work commitments. Since when did hltv.org transform from a 1.6 coverage website to an obituary to the game? It is no secret that competitively games start to die out. It is nothing new, and it certainly isn't anything that can be controlled. It seems as though everyone here has an opinion on CS:GO and CSP.
CS:GO
For starters, the introduction of CS:GO is far from a bad thing. Plenty of games have been introduced and taken some 1.6 players to different communities. Nobody rages or whines on here about new COD or battlefield releases, so why should this be any different? Just because it has the words Counter Strike in the title doesn't mean you instantly have to decide what game you want to play does it? If anything, it may draw people back to the CS community, which surely can only be a good thing.
CSP
Moving away from CSGO, the exact same thing applies for CSP, although on a smaller scale. Unfortunately for them, CSP has taken far too long to be released or for getting updates, and they are in massive danger of being completely overlooked and blown out of the water by CSGO. Despite these games getting a load of hype - it is ultimately up to you what game you play, whether it is 1.6, CSS, CSGO, CSP or another game altogether. As soon as CSGO is released, it isn't as if 1.6 servers will be gone is it?!
HLTV.org
That brings me to my next point, the future of hltv.org. I read somewhere about people asking what games would be covered by hltv.org after the death of 1.6. HLTV.org is a site dedicated to 1.6 coverage and has a massive 1.6 community - and (although it would be naive to think that hltv.org will remain focused entirely on the one CS title) it is ultimately up to what is desired by the community and our users.
Yes, ok, the competitive scene may be fading away, but what does that matter to you? If you aren't a pro in 1.6 yet, I doubt the release of CSGO will stop your career as a future member of fnatic.
So basically, for those of you that can't be bothered to read all of this, I am going to this blog up in a few short words:
QUIT WHINING, KEEP PLAYING THE GAMES YOU ENJOY.

"If you aren't a pro in 1.6 yet, I doubt the release of CSGO will stop your career as a future member of fnatic."
I'd rather be member CS 1.6 in fnatic than in worse game which is right now CS:GO.

Meaning I doubt that it is CS:GO stopping you being pro
Out of curiousity, why would fnatic house a 1.6 team if the game is not played in any major leagues, ladders or tournaments? No prizes - no profit - no fame/advertisement for sponsors or the organization
Missed your blogs, nice read.
If you ask a CoD pro what he thinks about the new Cod(Mw3). He will say its horrible.
because all CoD's after CoD4 have been basically console games sold on PC, developers only care about money now.. releasing games with no console and shit lmao
at least developers listen to what people playing CS:GO want, and have almost had a 1 year long beta and promise to keep fixing things after release.. sounds great to me.

Woke up to a beta for CS:GO at the weekend from steam so downloaded it straight away to see what's what. What a big dissapointment, it's a big pile of shite. Apart from looking good, it's a big steaming pile of shite.
As above, RIP 1.6 the good old days.

I'd like to see a last tournament of 1.6, featuring mmm SK 2003 lineup, fnatic 2009 lineup, mtw 2008 lineup, Na'Vi, ESC/PGS, :')!
