**This is not a blog to attack any non-CS1.6 players, only to show love to the people who kept the title of this game alive**

(as posted a bit of fragment in another thread)

Dear fellow CS 1.6 players,

Please stop listening to these pro players and these bullshit articles about how we need to accept change. These kids have dedicated their life to gaming and the only opportunity left in their life is accepting the change. I havent played professionally or traveled the world, and would NEVER choose that over my real life, but I have been playing just as long as the pro players, and I know a lot of you are in the same boat as me. Our opinions matter just as much as these no life geeks who are trying to make a paycheck by convincing everyone to promote CSGO and bring the money back to them.

Tell me, when was the last time you actually made money in this game? Yet you're still here playing like I am because we dont play for money, we play for enjoyment. If you have been part of the CS community since the CAL days and are still here, you know that CSGO is absolute trash and is nothing like CS 1.6.

You can disagree with me, but it was obvious what CGS did to CS 1.6. Professional players first said they hated CSS, but when CGS and all these contracts came around and their eyes lit up with money signs, they moved to CSS, pormoted it, said the game was great, then when CGS died, they came back to CS 1.6. The same thing is happening here again.

How is CS 1.6 dead, or at least less popular than CSGO? Because the people who write articles on threads said so? Some pro players? Some tournament organizers? When was the last time a majority of you attended an international lan? My point is, people who actually make money off this game, are doing EVERYTHING they can to make money out of it. But you know who they need to make that possible? The majority of you who DON'T make any money off this game. So why force yourself to enjoy a game just so you can put money into someone else's pocket?

The fact that ESEA and other communitys are doing everything they can to promote CSGO over CS 1.6 disgusts me. This company became successful because of CS 1.6. How do you know this game is STILL successful because of CS 1.6?

Once again, this thread isnt to diss any CSGO or CSS players. Play the game you enjoy, that is my point. But my point is also not to be manipulated by these articles saying "COME WIN MONEY IN CSGO" and force you to play a game you don't enjoy because they are trying to use the name of Counter-strike to convince you. I understand some people are competitive and want to stay in a competitive FPS scene, and they are using that as an excuse to adapt to CSGO, but think about it, when was the last time you forced yourself to play a game you did not enjoy because you wanted to compete? You pick up a game, then you enjoy it, and when that happens, the competitive drive within you makes you want to get better and play in competitions, NOT the other way around. It's just like sports, you can't play a sport you hate and say you're gonna put in the work because you want to be competitive in it. Competitiveness comes from passion and love you have for something. For everyone forcing them to play CSGO that are not enjoying it, please understand that.

(This is a post that I got from someone on a ESEA aka "Blindman_X"'s thread, I did not make this but I thought it would be a good read for everyone in this community)

well said bro

2012-07-27 03:34:08
Piss off mate, we all know you just added that text seconds ago. I knew it couldn't have been written by you anyways.
2012-07-27 03:35:47
You're an idiot, I added it way before but it was in the middle of it.

Just made it in bold right now so people can actually see it
2012-07-27 03:36:50
I actually read the whole post as it was in it's primary status and after refreshing the whole paranthesis appeared(in the middle) so don't try to bullshit me soN.
2012-07-27 03:48:58
I'll just ignore you like I've been ignoring half of this community for the past 4 years.

It is not about reading it my message is about but about including a reference to the original author (name or nick - original url optional), correct?

And that is not done including it in the middle of the text.
2012-07-27 03:44:45
Well I made a mistake thats why I edited.
And I made it in bold so these trolls can actually see it.

But yeah again I thought it would be useful for everyone in this community for once.

The original author is still pending though. If you use someone's work do not refer to him/her as 'someone'.

it's not time to make a change ..
juste relax take it easy ..
2012-07-27 03:33:16
But thats what the author meant.
He was never talking about changing the weather over here.
He was just trying to make people realize that they're stupid for listenning to non-sense ideas that "everyone should stop living the past and start dealing with cs:go"

Thats pathetic.
2012-07-27 03:44:27
i agree with him bro .. they pretend that cs:go is a new era of cs but infact this shit can't replace such a legendry game . Peace .
2012-07-27 03:49:58
You're correct.
Counter-Strike 1.6 is and will always be the best FPS game ever made.

2012-07-29 01:37:03
nice blog , agree with you 100% , well we like make $$$ , but semi pro and amators are important aswell . So with no support from ppl like you guys cs-go will be dead aswell. cs 1.6 ;] keep alive , then next year all will be back to normal !

Thats what I heard from a random guy 5 years ago.
When CSPROmod came out, people were bitching just like they're right now about "changing our ideas and start testing new things out".
And it's funny cause it was the same thing that you're saying right now.
He said if people didn't supported CSpromod, the game would die and so would CS 1.6, and what happened to cspromod? It failed and cs 1.6 didn't at ALL.

So I'm not sure that would happen if we didn't supported cs:go, if people stopped playing cs:go they could easily stick with cs1.6 forever.

2012-07-27 03:50:00
I won't ever play cs go cuz i do not enjoy playing it and i'll keep playing css because i love this game :D
2012-07-27 04:15:56
Good choise.
2012-07-27 04:16:51
truly true
2012-07-27 04:26:47
dude seriously are you retarded? dont you get that when ppl say ''1.6 is dead'' they mean at pro level (which is true)? You will be able to pub and to mix for so many years even to play some small online/lan tournaments. You want to play 1.6 forever? well, ive got good news for you... you fucking can!! :D
2012-07-27 04:28:42
I'm not quite sure taht it's dead at the pro level. There still many tournaments out there, and I'm sure people will continue making them till a certain time.
But yes, we will always be playing cs 1.6 for fun :]
2012-07-28 02:21:53
yeah but not major events... and with csgo some 1.6 players will play it (ofc not the majority) so 1.6 viewers will go even lower... I even play Doom II from time to time :D
2012-07-28 02:45:38
Does not matter who wrote it, but the words are pure gold. Do what u enjoy(without harming others ofc.).

Nobody here is talking about CS:GO movements.
The game is bad just like source and I'm sure it will be dead 2 months after they realease it.
I'm not hating on the game, but my opnion is that, for ME the game is bad.

You can have your own thingy and say that we must play the game, but we can do whatever we want. It's not about MONEY its about having FUN.
2012-07-28 02:20:44
Those are lyrics from Rage Against the Machine's song Freedom! The billboard refers to the things the liars want to sell to you.

You've understood my reply completely the other way around. I DON'T like CS:GO!
2012-07-28 07:56:10
Unfortunately there are many like me who get their enjoyment from watching the top teams competing in tournaments. If the pro scene dries up, CS will be dead for me, and many like me.

I want everyone to stay with 1.6 because our competitive scene is mature - switching to GO will just be reinventing the wheel. However, if I have to choose between a pro scene existing in CS:GO and no pro scene at all, well, I'll grudgingly accept GO.
2012-07-27 11:25:10
1.6 won't die if ppl like you move to CS:GO to watch matches. :)
2012-07-27 11:35:19
very well said sir! absolutely right!
2012-07-27 11:35:35
Actually I thought the same thing and wanted to create a blog. Same idea here... People don't play CS:GO just because f0rest nolifes it. Bah who cares? He will have like half of the year advantage over you anyway. Play the game you like If it is CS:GO, go for it, if not stay in 1.6.

While I agree with you 99% of it TODAY is different.

Back then there were countless of 1.6 competitions ALL over the world back then it was not Europe dominated.

What they tried to do with CGS is make gaming mainstream Valve also saw this as a good opportunity to promote their shit game Source which is exactly why only they could only use Source and it back fired if CGS was allowed to use 1.6 they would and if they could well CGS may of succeeded and we would of seen 1.6 alive as ever.

You have to look at everything in business perspective in this world I think that Valve has offered major tournaments such as ESWC WCG etc money to use and promote CSGO and when Valve has bought out all the big tournaments what are the current pro players left to do?

Of course the pro players will promote it they have spent years and years on a game they love and now its been forced away from them because valve has bought out big tournaments with money so they can help sell CS:GO as the number one PRO FPS GAME.

There is going to be a lot of money for winning in CSGO just like the old days of 1.6 maybe even more I heard that Valve is going to make a 1 Million dollar tournament for CSGO... could you imagine teams like NAVi fanatic ESC winning a prize pool like that? they have been playing for like 15000 for the past 4 years..

All I'm getting at you canont compare this to what happened with Source and CGS there is no tournaments to play for anymore.

We are not going to win this time when theres no tournaments and there won't be anymore for 1.6 no one will play.

Thats all bullshit, Valve would never waste their money making CS:GO or any other gaming tournament.
All they want is MONEY, they don't wanna WASTE it.
2012-07-28 02:18:35
IT'S TIME TO DUEL
2012-07-27 12:51:37
CS 1.6 will die just if majority of players let it dies. In fact, cs1.6 is removed from 80% of popular tournaments, but that doesn't mean that OUR game is dying. THAT TOURNAMENTS will die if we keep playing our game, and they will be forced to get it back on stage. Because, how can some game (CS:GO) be official game of one tournament with no players? You get me i hope. It's just no sense there. Just dont be naive and dont accept generalized point of view for our game, generalized from that people who wants our game dead.
2012-07-27 13:23:59

"You pick up a game, then you enjoy it, and when that happens, the competitive drive within you makes you want to get better and play in competitions..."

So I guess when all the 1.6-competitions are totally gone, like in a year or so...you will be hosting the first annual player vs. bot championships? Play better and attend which competitions?!?!
