To start this off let me say that this is not a blog about Counter-Strike or anything related to it, but I hope you will let is pass anyway. I'm not usually writing blogs, but I'm doing this one because I have some thoughts and feelings that I think I'd like to express 'on paper', so I'm giving it a try.

2012 has been a year with a lot of conflicts for me. Break-up with my girlfriend, conflicts with friends and so on - nothing special from anybody else but I have made some mistakes the past year, that has changed or half-ruined a couple of friendships. It is not really big, but I have made a couple of mistakes. Even though it was not on purpose, I have talked behind peoples back and hurt people without thinking about consequnces of it. That has changed some of my friendships... I really DON'T want to hurt anyone, but I often say something or do something without thinking about the consequences of my words - and I sometimes make some bad decisions..

People just look at me with other eyes, if you can say so. Even though I intend not to harm anyone, I have yet done it. A new year resolution of mine will therefore be something like: 'Thinking about what I say and do', 'make others happy' or a whole third.

But..
On the other side I have learned something much more important. People make mistakes - and that's all right! And if you can't deal with it, that's not my problem. Instead of spending time being sad and caring for/regretting the past, move on and care about the present and future!

Well as StaaaN points out, you have to care to a certain degree, but you are right: I need to care a little less and stop thinking so much.

There you go. Get an AK and start shooting everyone on the way. When you'll be hanged, nothing will matter for "YOU" but the damage you have done will remain forever.
This was just an extreme illustration, but the same thing goes with the other small things we do in our life. While one must not focus on the past, but should ensure that nothing he does now have to be regreted tomorrow.

I think this should clarify some things.

Being human also doesn't dictate that it is wrong to kill people and to do things you regret. There are made up social constructs which try to state this of course, but there is no absolute, inherent truth.

I agree that there is no "absolute, inherent truth" but one has believe in some. Few believe in Gods, few in religions, Few are atheist and a very few believes in Humanity as i do.

People will always make mistakes. They always have and always will. The important part is how you recover from them. As long as you stand up for what you have done, apologize and show the people involved by actions instead of promises that you have learned a lesson, you will come out on top. Even stronger than before. It will also make you wiser, more humble and a better friend for the future. You will become the person that others ask for advice when they themselves make mistakes.

So do not feel to bad. After rain comes sunshine ;)

So you tell me, that whenever you hang out with friends, you have never ever talked about someone behind their back?
I didn't do to create a bad reputation for them or to be mean, I just had a regular conversation with a friend about somebody else and due to some things (long and complicated story) he got to know about it, even though what I said wasn't bad at all. It was just an example of a thing that happened. I didn't make all the mistakes, a lot of random things that happened has just together changed the situation a lot, if you understand.

Realization is the way to go,error can be fault only when you deny to see it and understand it.

Almost all people do/have done/will do terrible things in their life , its not about being sad about the past,but being joyfull on the present,if you do this,you wont have a bad past:D

I think you and me, although we dont know each other, we have lot of familiary. :) I have the same problems and I have gone the same as u this year. :) And if I can tell you what I learnt this year then it is that a really friend will be with you even at the worst...

I think I've been in your place a few times lately. The 2end half of 2012 was just as much FANTASTIC as HORRIBLE = I've had girlfriends and ending up breaking up and hurting them and myself. So this year I figured out, you can't please everyone, no matter how you think about everyone else, they won't think the same back at you. Do what suits you best, and see what people comes to you that way, not on how you want to be or what you do to get attention from others.
