2017-01-11 18:58:35
Yes our is more complex and it has formal language and informal language while brazil they only have formal language, their portuguese is probably easier to understand if you are foreigner but if you really want in-depht of our wonderful complex language you have to learn our portuguese.
2017-01-11 18:59:39
"Our is more complex" rofl
"Formal and informal" Are you retarded? Every fucking language has an informal and a formal version.
2017-01-11 19:16:23
Portuguese from brazil does not have informal... And im comparing pt-pt from pt-br I dont known if you even realized that.
2017-01-11 19:16:57
Yes it does you fucking dumbass.

Loop? or just retarded? tuga fedido
2017-01-12 19:01:30
He is right in brasil only formal. There is really no difference if Im speaking to doctor or friend
2017-01-11 19:23:06
xd that does not even say anything hahahaha its just says the difference between formal language and informal language it does not say anything else and how its spoken in pt.br

bad bait is bad, btw fakeflag?
2017-01-11 19:32:12
It states what is informal and formal in PTBR and when you should use it. What exactly do you want, an entire gramática textbook from a reputed Brazilian grammarist?
2017-01-11 19:33:45
hahaahahaha you are fucking retarded you are so fakeflagging from brasil its so obvious

That site u sended is not saying that brasilians have informal language you dumbfuck its just explaining the difference between informal language and formal language, you are so fucking tard

Formal language = Eu gosto de voce

Informal language = Eu gosto de ti

In brasil they only say the formal language for both doctor and people they dont known and to their friends, while in portuguese from portugal we use both informal and formal for different types of person

GTFO now
2017-01-11 19:35:26
What does fakeflagging have to do with it? Is it that hard to elaborate an argument against what I said?
It is explaining the difference BECAUSE IT DOES EXIST. Informal is the colloquial way. You don't WRITE A PAPER the same way you post on a forum. That's informal vs formal, vulgar vs culto.
2017-01-11 19:38:25
Besides, in Brazil, there's a lot of difference depending on your social class and region. So yes, they do. It is not only about talking to a Doctor and talking to your friends. If that is the best example you can give (which you pretty much copied from our brazillian friend up there in the comments) then you pretty much have no clue what you are talking about.
And to add, the existence of a formal and informal version has nothing to do entirely with the language spoken. It is a social thing. Every place have an informal and formal version. You don't talk to your boss the same way you talk to your girlfriend. Oh, you say "porra" when talking to your Dr.? Good fucking job, retard!!!

10/10 for triggering me I cant explain fucking autists any longer

Ok please explain me so how would a brasilian speak to a doctor then to his close friend, Come on tell me IM waiting.
2017-01-11 19:41:07
Why are you so focused on Doctors? Anyways. You usually won't use bad language when talking to a Doctor? Or a Priest? Or your fucking boss?
Formal and "informalness" does not depend on language.
Another difference is in books (usually formal, but not necessarily) vs spoken language (most of the time informal)

I could not? You barely made an argument. Unless you think pointing out that I'm fakeflagging is an argument?
Funny how you changed the way you write in #126 compared to your other comments. rofl
2017-01-11 20:39:57
Im pretty sure he`s trying to bait with the "theres no informal vs formal way in pt-br" thing. They think we write essays and serious article the same way we speak with our friends and shit.Pretty sure he knows thats not the case but he is a known attention whore and you satisfied his weird fetish perfectly.
2017-01-13 03:12:50
He barely knows what the differences are teehe
Você vs Tu!!! FORMAL VS INFORMAL!!!111
2017-01-14 16:55:14
You're destroyed, unoccupied Down's Syndrome teenager. Just desappear.
2017-01-11 22:14:35
Ok, i can explain it to you, just pretend that i'm talking to a doctor in the first sentence and in the second to a close friend. And btw, Brazil is so big that the informal vocabulary can change depending on where you are.

Olá, doutor, tudo bem? O meu filho está com alguns problemas de atenção na escola, o que você acha disso?

E aí brother, beleza? O meu filho tá cheio de problema na escola por causa de atenção, sabe? Que que tu acha disso aí?

Actually i barely engaged on the informal vocabulary on this sentence, but you can see that yes, the difference exists.
(i'm not trying to be rude or to back up the other BR fella, i just want to make a point, because well, i live here :p)
And well, we have a huge informal vocabulary, i can say since i live in rio and the favelas have some neat vocabulary
2017-01-11 19:51:30
First of all read what you said again

1st setence you just speak properly portuguese

2nd setence you talked casual pt-br , you are saying things like brother, beleza all of that is brasilian slang

Stop trying to defend something that its not worth by showing such retarded argument.

Pt-pt also have casual language. but we are not talking about casual language im talking about actual language, and in brasil you say voce for both formal and informal and thats a fact.
2017-01-11 19:53:44
Nope. Você is only used in some regions. Some more than others. See how clueless you are?
Just for the laughs, google "eu gosto de ti" site:.br and you get 36k results from br sites, then google "eu gosto de ti" site:.pt, 16k
I mean... Brazil is bigger, but for someone that just said nobody speaks like that in Brazil, that says otherwise.
Btw, that's assuming the difference between formal and informal can be reduced to that only, which in fact isn't true.
Also, casual language is a form of informal language. It can't be formal and casual at the same time.

You have to understand that we have our own way to classify words to an informal/formal way and they are both much different than PT-PT simply because we speak a language that dropped A LOT of PT-PT words and tendencies, thats why comparing the voce/tu thing is really dumb, simply because its different to us.If you could find a way to see how the PT-BR is taught on schools you would understand what im talking about. The formal/informal way in PT-PT is different to ours.

"Oh but thats because brazilians are dumb and lazy and bla bla bla"
No my tuga friends, its simply because our PT suffered a lot of influence from other cultures like the natives and africans, and other languages too like the millions and millions of immigrants that went to our country(germans, poles, italians and so on).I dont want to explain to you why all these different people having to live in the same country and speak the official language led to the millions of varients between PT-PT and PT-BR but i think you got the picture right?Hell, theres still to this day villages where they still dont speak portuguese, still stuck to polish and german, not to mention the natives.

a gramática from a brazilian is not a valid point in an argument..
2017-01-13 03:05:03
http://artlyra.com/portuguesazul/portuguese-tenses..

This is about pt-pt, in English. Same shit with pt-br. Thus, concluding that both languages have formal and informal variations, which is pretty expected since the dawn of time. The existence of the Portuguese language is due to a lot of retards not being able to speak Latin properly and mixing it up with other languages.

Bicha
2017-01-11 19:04:57

Bicha is what some people from the north call faggots

"tu és ganda bicha óh mano"
2017-01-11 19:06:20
Thought bicha in PT-PT was the same as fila in PT-BR
2017-01-11 19:07:09
Nope I dont known who told you that. We call fila fila, but I may have heard some old guy say bicha once but that is pretty much non existent.
2017-01-11 19:07:56
actually, there are a few people who say bicha instead of fila. But only the azeiteiros.

is there a big difference between spanish and portuguese?
2017-01-11 19:08:37
Yes big ass difference.

But keep in mind we portuguese people without any education we can understand good spanish and speak it bad, while spanish people on the other hand without education they cant speak neither understand portuguese.

Therefore everytime they come to portugal or we go to spain we have to speak spanish because they are so dumb to understand portuguese, I think its because portuguese language is so fucking complex, even I that studies portuguese language dont known how to speak it all.
2017-01-11 19:10:44

How similar is portugese to Spanish? I know Spanish like 50%
2017-01-11 19:24:02
read #34

If you speak 50% spanish then we can understand that 50% when you talk to us but you will not be able to understand our portuguese just by knowing spanish, therefore we would have to speak spanish for you to understand.

Best scenario would be just for you to speak english since its easier for both parties.

classic poortugal right here trying to fit in, there are no relevant differences between pt-portuguese and br-portuguese in grammar. we only have very different accents.
2017-01-11 19:37:39
NO relevant differences xdd

This bait is too bad, sure no differences, thats why when a foreigner from brasil come to portuguese school he takes years to know how to read a portuguese text without choking every 3 seconds. Because our language has no differences :>
2017-01-11 19:38:30
brazilians who immigrate to portugal must be like < 70 iq anyway. I read some portuguese literature on my high school times and I had no problem.
2017-01-11 19:43:41
yes sure bro, <70 iQ aka 99% of brasilians that come here then are low iQ nice lies. Our language has differences stop acting like it hasnt lol.

So if there are no differences try to translate what im saying

Dred deixa disso és bueda mofino e agora tás ai dar para ché.
2017-01-11 19:47:02
you're using local slangs retard, when it comes to proper grammar there are very few differences. brazilians also use a lot of slangs in regular basis rather than formal language.
2017-01-11 19:55:48

Portuguese from Portugal is sure one of the most disgusting things you will ever hear, they all talk with spanish accent and a faggot way to pronounce, they sound like a bunch of pussy speaking, you cant even take a man seriously if he is speaking pt portuguese, been to Portugal like 4 times and I always get tired of listening pt portuguese, so ugly.
2017-01-11 19:55:19
AND EXACTLY THAT IS HOW BRAZILIANS SOUND TO EU AS WELL.
2017-01-11 19:56:51
When i was traveling in US, got asked sometimes if I was speaking french with my friends, no one tought it was portuguese. BR portuguese is far from being an ugly language.
2017-01-11 20:01:02

2017-01-11 20:04:32

Post the text you want to have translated to Portuguese in English.
This isn't a thread to chat in Portuguese. For that use the related user's guestbook or the site private message system. Thank you.

@OP and others - It is Brazilian Portuguese not Banana/Favela Portuguese. Don't complain afterwards if you end up punished for this kind of behaviour.
