I use 0 cuz when one of my teammates was killed by enemy he can tell us that player with third model (for example) is red or smth. You can say its a useless info, but if you are on a 1on1 situation and you know that man with third model wasnt killed you will change the way of playing such round cuz ur enemy had much lower hp (100 to 14 for example).
you can also just look at the upper right corner and see if the person who killed your team mate was killed.
anyway, if you use cl_minmodels 0 and you spot someone and later you spot someone again, there is a chance you would be able to say if it's a different player if they use different models but a proper team all choses the same model so it wont be much of an advantage. on the other hands, cl_minmodels 1 gives you a slight performance advantage. if you have a decent system then just use 0 and it might give you some tactical advantage.
Maybe, I don't remember which value disables other models, I supposed that value "0" means "disabled" :). Didn't change it since first instalation, but default settings was orange (T) / blue (CT) models.
it doesn't matter cl_minimodels 2 and if you're skilled enough and expierienced player there wont be such a thing " the guy with that model is low hp " "there was another one " blablabla - it's all in your mind if you have the right mind set - it will be all fine whatever models you use.
It loads just 2 models compared to 10
Imagine rushing from spawn at the start of round and also in middle of action involving 4-5 players. it helps that time.
also i prefer old cs 1.5 models. its a nice fps boost
ATI radeon sucks hard with cs 1.6
have to use above tricks to have a slightly good fps
