diGi was finnish and he played with the best of and sweden. I think he's the only fin who ever played for fnatic (or the only foreigner for that matter, not at all sure)

Yeah it's sad how everyone forgets bloodR since he was always carrying his team by himself and doing unbelievable performance. Too bad he didn't get a chance to play with better and more hard working teams.

Would place lurppis higher, even though he's not nearly as good fragger as the 4 guys above him, he's still been leading the number 1 Finnish team for years. Would also replace some of those oldschool players with newer stars, for example aslak (and BASiC) should definitely be on the list. However, great job, it's nice to read about Finnish CS.

i don't really know if he listed the guys from 1 to 10 regarding skill or just to make a list of 10.
lurppis IS one of the most important figures regarding finnish gaming scene, i mean, he has always been consistent, mature and evertytime he wrote some article, he managed to get most people owned.
apart from the fact that he has being carrying most of his teams, not by topfragging, but by adding experience, respect and for what i've been able to read in messagemode1 (say_team) in EG demos (i say EG demos cause i do understand english, but when he played for finnish teams i didn't understood a piece of word of what i could read haha), he always has a possitive attitude towards his teammates.

tico and zet0r were really really good at some point, tihop was may be the third best player of bad finnish teams that never broke top8 abroad and then for a brief six month stint the worst player in roccat team that got good placings. i don't see anything in his resume that warrants a place anywhere near that list.

like i said, for brief six months in 2008 he was the worst player in roccat/gameplay with good placings (example: http://www.hltv.org/?pageid=181&eventid=265)

Well he played pretty well there. He took some important rounds vs SK on train. (especially 1on2 awp clutch vs tentpole and robban on inner plant). He didn't get much ecofrags though. :)

A good list Thorin! My list would look a bit different but yours is great too, I'm actually surprised how much I can agree on that, since it's nearly impossible to rank top10 from over a 10-year-long period

Imo bloodR was better than coali or mysse. mysse did achieve second place in CPL tho, but what comes to individual skill bloodR was veryvery good.

Totally agree with Nasu 2nd and Ruuit 1st but I think Lurppis needs 3rd because he has being able to go USA to play this game and he is IGL in all finnish pro teams. I think this list was made mostly because invidual skill?

even since winfakt i've had better tournament performances than allu, although my motivation went to shit after eswc and since the i played really average.
aslak was destined to be the best player in our team no matter what because of the role he was given, if we gave nasu his roles (not exact since aslak is an awper) he would have been the best player in our team.

Why would I place cArn there? His teams succeed well, but cArn was always the worst player in his teams when it comes to individual skill, at least in fnatic it was so. My list is about achievements and individual skills combined.

f0rest is by far the best Swedish player of all time and he has played on the highest level longer than SpawN did I think - not going to check it right now, but I am sure most people would rank him top 2 of all time.
With regards to cArn, he has been an amazing leader for a very long time and achieved more than most, skill in CS isn't just about fragging - leading people is a skill aswell.

so you just forgot how carn played in 2006,2006, and 2008? or did you not spectate fnatic too much during those years? he was without a doubt a class fragger in addition to doing great midround decision making. I agree fnatics tactics were a tad basic for a team winning so much medals but still, he is one of the greatest swedish players of all time, if you do not just look at aiming skills. he was extremely smart and clutch, and yes, he got less good near the end of his career, but same happened to guys like element, heaton spawn and walle, still you have to count them among the legends of swe CS

snajdan was also igl of some insanely good teams, while rarely ever being bottom fragger, in star studded line-ups. he should never have made a comeback after so long, as he wasn't anything remotely close to his old level (logically, after so long without playing actively)

ruuit wasn't involved in the making of that movie. A guy (a Russian I think) just downloaded the demos and made it himself.
I agree it's a shame though, when you consider how many bad CS movies people have made of them and their friends it's a tragedy to consider there are no good full length frag movies of REAL, ruuit, naSu, Tentpole, gore etc.

Oh okay. :) Yeah and that's probably one big reason for that why naSu is so underrated as he is. There are a lot of those cs fanboy kids who decide how good player is just by watching their cs movies (JAEGARN is a good example for that). I bet that a well-edited and quite a lengthy cs movie about naSu could have made him more known and honored, at least among the "fanboys".

Always liked the old astralis lineup with Bloodr, Kuvick, Digital, and Tihop.
But i would say Lurppis and Natu have been the leaders of Finnish CS, so cant forget them.
Aslak has also surprised everybody. Dont remember anyone really being known for their AMAZING awping (except Tihop, but he really couldnt keep up with the top awpers..).

plastE was great to watch a few years ago, glad he's up there! Spikeone was maybe a bit of a hit and miss concerning a list like this, I think he was great, and it's fair to say he'd make a top 15 list, at least in my own opinion.

Its always hard to make a top10 list of all times, considering that the game has changed a lot since the beginning.
I would put aslak there. I don't think his career started when he joined WinFakt, and, besides that, the level he has showed is high enough to be there, even without a very long career.
About the rest, well, I think its a good mixture of past/modern players.

ruuit, naSu, plastE, contE and lurppis are so much in their own league that makes no sense even talking about ather guys. For me lurppis is propably the number one finnish player of all times. That's because I really respect the tactical aspect of cs. Without lurppis there wouldn't have been any finnish team in world top 10.
