Check out your 'Task Manager' and see if there is any process that may be interferring with the game.

Well, I didn't saw nothing special...

Arrange the Task Manager items according to CPU usage and set your game to window mode. That way you will be able to take a look at the task manager window while doing what you think leads to the freezing. A good resolution to do this is 640.

Once you experiment that freezing pay attention to what process tops the task manager listing.

Finally you can also try to modify the hl.exe process priority and see if it improves the game performance.

I have ~30% using CPU while I'm playing CS but I think it's too much (My CPU - i5 3,06 4x).
2012-05-25 23:53:33
That is a lot.
I have between 5-10%

Just like I thought...

What OS do have installed? Did you make hl.exe use only one core?

What OS mean?
It doesn't matter how much core I use. Still ~30%.

EDIT: Operation System? Win7

Yes, OS refers to Operating System.

Besides the game itself, do you use any other feature while playing, f.e. Steam Friends? If so, does disabling it improve the performance?

When referring to freezing do you refer to the game or only the mouse?
If it is only the mouse you refer to try to set the hl.exe priority to low.

I tried to set priority to low but didn't work. Mouse in menu looks smooth and I closed some processes. Now the game works smooth too but recoil isn't perfect and also when i drop gun it has a little freezing.

So it is mainly the mouse that is freezing? Do you have any other at hand in order to check if the same happens.

If you refer to the game overall, does it happen only when playing CS or also during other games?

Only in CS, I'm gonna try I.E 1.1
2012-05-26 00:27:50
Still the same with I.E.
Image is good, now running smooth and clear but like i said before, When i drop my weapon it has a little freeze also when i change gun to knife i can see some freezes.

Did you use the same usb to connect the 1.1? Did you overclock the usb hz at some point?
2012-05-26 00:44:30
Yep, now i tried to change usb port but still nothing happen.
Maybe it depends from my connection. Some time ago I had stable 7mb/s connection and everything was fine but from about half year I have 3-4mb/s and by that time i have troubles with cs.

Try to start a local game and see if it still freezes. That way you will know if the problem is related to your connection. Even though as it only happens in CS it shouldn't be the reason.

In case it does not, try to set netgraph 3 when playing online and see if there are some issues in your connection when those freezing take place.

On local game everything is ok so I think the main issue is my connection.

So once again thanks for your time, I appreciate it!

Go to Task Manager -> Right-click steam.exe -> Set Priority -> Select the lowest value possible -> Profit!

Well. You propably didn't read previous posts.

If you read carefuly, previously Jonathan said to change the hl.exe to low priority and to a single core. What I'm referring to is steam.exe, completely different story. Just try it. I've solved many mouse/fps drops related issues with this method.

highest ofc

Highest would be realtime and it isn't indeed the best option. The reason for setting it to the lowest priority, at least that is the reason why I proposed it in #12, is that it helps to fix an annoying mouse freezing bug.

i mean priority high or above normal sorry that i wasnt explained it so good

actually it is really to the lowest so the cpu can focus more on the hl.exe engine tasks rather than the steam interface

Whatever, thanks for help!
