Overrated according to some arguements, yea ofc, depends which "fair" parameters you keep in mind, for starting point: dont use 2001 eco-ace @ vs 4kings as comparison to his actual overall role as CS-player.

Obviously, for me, speccing HeatoN in a bl**dy DM (from 2005) is kinda working against the fairest picture to discribe his ultimate strenghts.
Fair enough he wasnt like the "madfragging" or whatever more modern top-player(s) and his gaming-style was definatly not forced beeing structured in such shape to be become this succesful champion-legend (he forever will be).

Career and his (5 on 5) leadingship - overrated ? .. nAt a lil single bit.

As for individual skill, especially his ak47-spray control was back in his prime days ranked up among the very bests (if not best) and in my opinion for that time he played a game with smart moves.

On the other hand i very much agree, ecpecially the todays IGL's need to have done their homework on a completly different level to place 1st in worldclass top-elite competitions, no f***ing doubt about that. :)

But daTs just natural - like many things in life, time changes and things develops, "even" Counter-Strike as we all clearly have noticed.

You can never look down at the achievements of goldmedal-winners of footballers World Cup back in like 1958, -62, -66, -70 etc etc, same with NIP and SK (CPL etc) .. and so on.

HeatoN was very good at those AK spray techniques when u did not even hear of CS, I don know those ppl who abased HeatoN in this thread were thinking. Try to watch HeatoN's AK 47 guide on youtube when it was about 10 years ago recorded, think about what were u doing with CS

His aim is nice, but he always crouches when he shoots and it's preety frustrating when you play against such a player.

haha every time an enemy enters his screen just he smashes the crouch button. still gets more headshots than me though ;(

LOL. This is a great example of how the skill within CS has increased enormously since 2005 or when ever this was recorded. The movement and aim are a lot more professionalized today. This type of gamestyle HeatoN is playing is way out of the league. It is cool to actually see some evidence that CS has progressed its scene of top players.

I believe heaton was one of the best in 1.5.
Other players later envolved while heaton was stuck, he was pretty bad in late years of his career.

Here we can see the diffrence between cs in the past, and cs now =}

HeatoN was for sure in top3 in cs 1.3 era and top5 in 1.5 era. He was good in 1.6 too for almost a year after it got published but then he started getting worse and worse and lost his skills. :/

Oh, i still remember the time when people in general couldn't hit shit on DM, and you could've just run around killing 5 or 6 of them at a time. Nowadays everyone and their dog kills people with one-shots. So much for the fun.
