R.I.P. IEM/ESL
that's right, we made them big and we can make them go down. Don't support ESL/IEM events that do not feature CS 1.6, they will surely miss us.

nothing more to say.

oh yeah, one more thing: how does it feel to be ignored year after year Saucers? :D, stay in your 20-man community and stop it with the "1.6 dead", if you think about posting something remember that CS 1.6 is the biggest eSport in game history that gave birth to the biggest eSport orgas in the world, it open doors so newer games can succeed and it didn't had to be a half-assed remake to be popular, thats all.

Counter-Strike gave so much to ESL, but ESL did as well to CS community.

This would have happened sooner or later. Would have been sooner if IEM wouldn't have supported CS so many years, so we have, in part, to thank them for these years.

Don't be a kid, please.

hard post to accept but it's very true. they carried us far guys.. we should be thankful for that..

what would you do with my steam profile? i've played since 05 and yes i think cheaters suck but saying "cs is now only for hackers" it was worse back on the days, i haven't seen many clear cheaters on EAC3 client for many many months, i guess you are just bad and cant accept that some people play better than you :)

Time to play CS:GO guys, at least give it a honest try (put in 30 hours or more before you judge it). The first few hours were horrible for me(As a bigtime oldschool cs fan), but now after putting some hours into the game I must say it is quite enjoyable and I can see myself quitting CS 1.6 for this game.

If everyone (both 1.6ers and source players) move over to CS:GO coupled with all the new players we will have a massive CS community which should make for sponsors Etc wanting to support this game: more tournaments and more money than ever seen before in CS.
2012-06-14 20:47:17
Yes, what can I do with 512 mb ram and low processor?
2012-06-14 21:49:51
Upgrade your 10year old computer?
2012-06-14 22:31:49
That's the thing...CS is a game to be played on a PC not a laptop...and nowadays other than hardcore devoted gamers, you'd rarely see some1 buying a PC!

Ehm, CS:GO does not require that much to run it smoothly, and most likely you would want to run it on lower resolution anyways (I have an awesome PC but I run CS:GO at low resolution + low settings). Unless your laptop is more than 5years old you should be fine..
2012-06-14 23:03:24
You'd need a decent GTS 200 series or 3800 radeon...that's not much if you consider the graphics we have nowadays, but still, my point was that playing a game like CS on a laptop is weird and not enjoyable at all!

2012-06-15 08:17:24
Money, money, money...
2012-06-14 22:40:37
wasted more than 70hours on that game and it's still awful. don't even know how i was able to play that much.if iem pick up that game i'll be hoping that it will get dropped after 1 or 2 seasons. the game is just not worth carrying the counterstrike name
2012-06-14 21:53:13
+1, its a little fun to play on public with friends and something new, but its not competitive in any way... like the new cod's, the series died competitive after cod4
2012-06-15 00:30:10
Play alone dude, i never gonna try this shitty game.

2012-06-14 20:52:52
Valve is the main sponsor of 1.6 death.
2012-06-14 20:58:45
copying exactly what Blizzard did to kill Broodwar in South Korea, which is paying the biggest league to promote their new game.

I think valve made a deal with iem and wcg to remove 1.6 and put cs:go in there main title after its launch.

Why? Because 1.6 isn't making enough money for them(valve). Valve wants to sell there game copies which will happen cuz of cs:go and i giess that's the reason why this game will be available on both consoles and PCs.

More graphics and other chicken shit to attract cod and bf3 kids :))
2012-06-14 21:07:14
This is the biggest shit what I've ever read.
http://www.tdbimg.com/files/2011/03/15/img-article..
2012-06-14 22:36:25
its actually not that wrong :P the game developers want to sell their copies, if valve really wanted to unite cs and css, they would have supported cs promod. remember, counter strike was a mod for half life back in the days too until valve hired them :)

but nowdays the kids want easy games like LoL or cod mw3 or console games

you know that IEM wont die becuase of LoL?
LoL community and money gave them +250k viewers
2012-06-14 21:27:58
LoL will die (or at least lose a huge % of their players) with DotA's 2 open beta. IEM won't die but they won't be as solid as they were with 1.6 since they now have to compete with leagues around the world that support the same games as them (i.e MLG, KeSPA Leagues, Chinese dota leagues, etc), something they didn't had to do with CS being an european thing.

SC2 is not solid, once koreans start taking every money placing in events around the world foreigners will start to retire, that already happened in Broodwar btw.

DotA 2 is a safe bet, its community is strong because they trully love their game, not just the sponsors. I don't see the DotA scene dissapearing any time soon.

2012-06-14 21:44:57
what makes you think LoL players would actually touch dota2? they might not even hear about that game since 90% of them are casuals anyway
2012-06-14 21:55:13
DotA is like the 1.6 for the MOBA genre, the history is a HUGE factor in the game's evolution and the metagame is constantly changing and modifying everything. I think casual gamers would appreciate the lack of randomness DotA has and the fact its not that farm drived like LoL.

In fact I think DotA is the only popular MOBA in which the ganks still play a relevant role, lmao.
2012-06-14 22:12:28
lol players will come to dota, lose every game and rage and go back to their easy mode. true story
2012-06-15 00:34:13
LoL wont die... Riot isnt a dumb company, even that i perfer and enjoy dota2... i think it wont die... watch the money that riots and their tournaments give to the players... it is just crazy and also the game is easy to play and every kid without brain can play it.
2012-06-14 21:59:28
I agree, Riot is a great company but I'm not sure that they won't get hit by the D2 train, kids like new stuff, maybe D2 has an edge now cuz its newer than LoL.

I hope LoL updates their crappy map so it can trully become a competitive title, now it seems very flat and boring on top level especially since it all comes down to who farms more and faster.

2012-06-14 22:03:52
true. there isnt anything more to discover about the game... cs 1.6 ... with those years ,you can always find a new tactic,a new trick and stuff... same with dota.... it is why the game is so popular and it is alive....

I have to admit, watching LoL tournaments it is boring... always the same stuff and tactic... always wins the best champion combo (on high level)
2012-06-14 22:06:36
Dude, you're such a big crier. You're whining about cs every day on here and also you're too ignorant to try anything new. Jeezus christ you still can play your fucking funwars. This game is freaking 12? years old it's totally normal that it's going down slowly. Be happy that it was so big. New games will come for sure.
2012-06-14 21:48:19
if you read my post again you will notice that I'm proud of the game's history. I'm not whining btw, I don't think it is a positive move for the ESL neither for competitive gaming in general.
2012-06-14 22:07:26
Dude, obviously everyone on here knows you as a whiner.
eeeeh cs:go is shit, CS has so many viewers balbalbalbal everytime the same shit.
Every other game in the competitive scene doesn't need the CS community at all. Other communities are way bigger.
It won't damage the ESL/IEM at all. Probably it'll be better with a new title.
2012-06-14 22:14:29
"other communities are way bigger" bitch please..unless youre talking about sc2 in south korea i will say that its total bullshit :P
2012-06-14 22:24:47
Broodwar is bigger than Sc2 in south korea
2012-06-14 22:35:08
thats your opinion dude, I think LoL and SC2 are popular because of the USA factor (USA is the paradise for casual gaming at the moment).

In numbers only LoL is bigger than CS, Sc2 is a joke, they are all about hype.
2012-06-14 22:39:34
Sc2 sucks at Sc2, a bunch of noobs.

So you're hyping Cs to it's death.
2012-06-14 23:17:58

"CS 1.6 is the biggest eSport in game history that gave birth to the biggest eSport orgas in the world, it open doors so newer games can succeed"

You do realize you are bashing an organization for taking a game that has dominated the scene for 10 years, out of their game list. What is boycotting ESL / IEM going to do for you, they took CS in and made it what it has become, the decline can be blamed on nothing but the community itself, lets face it, people grow and stop playing games they used to, go on to bigger and better things, or just go on to other games which are NEWER. Sure it may be a great game and one of the best of all time, but let it rest in peace.
2012-06-14 22:38:17

ESL fed on CS like most orgas though.

Soccer is the same since the day he was created, and you know what? It is still the best sport of world.
Let's try to imagine the FIFA trying to move Barcelona's team to basket...annoying no ?
What valve and this sponsors are doing is so fcking retard!
Wake up ppls..This is not about the NEWER thing that you all are talking about, is about the most playable and a fun game ever. How can i move to CS:GO if that shit isnt a playable game, just cause is beautifull ? If i want to see something beautifull i just go to porntube.com =P
2012-06-15 08:12:07
people that say that cs 1.6 is dead it's only kids that think's the game is all about graphics and that shit. If you don't like 1.6 don't come here my god go play cs:go or cs:s i bet my balls that cs:go and cs:s never gonna be like 1.6.
