A big reason is that there was only one stream (no hltv) and it was only in Swedish. I believe it would have been a lot more with HLTV and / or an English stream.

LoL has a constant viewing base of like 5x more viewers than CS ever had at a constant level(through out every tournament). It's on its 3rd year and what has it done? It has just grew bigger bigger and bigger.
You see, there's a company called Riot which listens to the community and what LoL players have to say, and they constantly improve the game with every patch. Something which valve never did after 1.6, so I think, from 5 years, LoL will be even more bigger and nowhere near from dying, just because Riot cares for their players and their game unlike valve, which cares for their sales turnover.

Sadly it doesn't seem so. Dota 2 groupstage had roughly 20k I think. Despite being a Dota player, I actually enjoy watching cs 1.6 the most of any esports and it pains me to see a terrible game like LoL, with a retard community winning.

I don't know about SC2, but LoL has a stream window when you log in (whenever there is a tournament going on). I doubt all of those spectators tend to play competitively (I might be wrong as well). My point is, if there was some stream link or window whenever you log in on steam, we would've had more spectators for sure.

They're more fond of making more bad games with the name counter-strike in front of them and selling them. FYI DotA exists since 2002. Actually even before 2002 but that was mod for SC1, without leveling and items. But in 2002 was released DotA mod for WC3 which was very similar to today's DotA except that it was very imbalanced (same as CS beta 13 years ago with zoom on M4, that stupid aligning when strafing and similar stuff)

Over 10k. Cmoon boys, League Of Legends streamers like Unprofessional Dyrus and Ragelote getting over 15k watchers DAILY on their stream. When again LoL matches are having almost 100k viewers and IEM final did have 190k if I remember correctly.
Maybe CS ain't dead, but it is in bad shape against that kind of viewers. And I believe that now when major tournaments dropped out CS, it becomes like COD4, CS:S. Low money, only few organisations supporting it and don't have over 10 000euro prizemoney in any event.

10k people during the great game of SK and fnatic, it's ridiculous low number in my opinion. This is like a Gran Derbi between the best swedish teams, and it should have a lot of viewers especially in Grand Final.
