I feel you about the vibe, it was like it wasn't genuine, the city is almost completely split between rich and poor and I think that is the reason for no real culture in the area. I don't really know how to explain it, but places and culture just don't mesh there.

Yep. You have slot machines in most grocery stores (almost all) pretty much every gas station. Pretty much everything. Poker tables around the city but mostly played at the strip. There is freaking slot machines all over the airport to. The airport is pretty much a casino, lol. Almost everything is 24 hours. Fast food some certain pizza places even apply to this. It's a 24 hour town. Which is honestly one thing I really like is that everything is open 24/7. If I need some damn milk at 3 AM or some drinks for friends it can be pretty useful. :)

I live in Warsaw and i gotta say that Krakow is nice place to 'watch', Warsaw is amazing place to 'hear about' - i mean if you would go sightseeing both of them then Krakow is really nice, big ooooold castle is like a heart of it, you can smell the medieval spirit in here. About Warsaw - good place to visit to get some motivation, most stories you will hear will be about 2nd World War, its been biggest uprising in the Europe in here during that war, museums are really interesting, also really well connected old architecture with new one in the centre. People cried that we might be late with roads/stations etc for Euro2012 cup (which kinda didnt happen), but thats only because not many people know that 86% of Warsaw was destroyed after the war (Hitler did bomb the city just to destroy it as a revenge for Warsaw Uprising in '45), so the city is used to call 'Phoenix' cause it raised from the ashes, cause Warsaw SAW the WAR! :D (<3 WARSAW)
edit: forgot to mention - you will hardly find better girls that Polish ones ^^

Well, getting there is not really a problem after you take care of all the bureaucracy stuff, like visa and stuff.
I moved there in 2010, after I was done with school and done with considering whether or not abandon everything and everyone I know just to fulfill my one and only dream :) So currently I am just farming money to get a little place of my own, since I am living with a family friend who was teaching me Japanese since when I was 12 or so. The biggest problem is actually the language itself. But well, once you deal with it and get a job (unless you are a millionaire already), you are fine and the country is awesome :)

Money shouldn't be a problem. My only concern is getting in to the country without being an English teacher. xD I'm learning the language and it seems to be going pretty well, however mastering Kanji would take quite a while. :'(
I don't know which method I'm going to take, but I'll find a way to move there for sure.
Whatever you do, don't overwork yourself (Karoshi) haha.

Yeah, Kanji is a tough nut and if you want to get there with a full command over it, it might probably take you few more years :))

well , just like you i dream to live in tokyo someday , my problem is that my english is not too good , and i think it could be more difficult finding a job for a person that speak spanish , thats why im studying english right now.

for a daily life you don‘t really need a top English knowledge, since common citizens have none or very basic English knowledge anyway. However, to get a solid job, perfect command over at least one international language and having at least some school degree is absolutely neccessary. It is also very foolish to go there without knowledge of JP language for a permanent living. You might be ok without it on holiday, but you need to know it if you are serious about starting a new life here. So, dont move until you learn the language, it is rather pointless.
Living is fine, the aglomeration here in Tokyo is tremendous, so flats are small and not really cheap :) If you gonna do it, you wont be sorry at all. Japan is beautiful, culture is amazing, almost zero level of criminality might be a pleasant change as well.. :))
