dont know about kulo, but roccat kave in the other hand its prety good, its real 5.1 and awesome sound quality.
And yes i know what i'm talking about because i have one!
the only thing that F**** kave its the mic, i already broke 3 :)
I have a Roccat Kave, their 5.1 set. Maybe 5-6 months after I got them, one channel started to die. I emailed the company, and they said there was nothing they could do. Maybe I got a fluke set but whether their surround sound headphones are good quality or not, if you get a bad pair, be prepared for them not to get replaced. Pretty rough considering their prices.
we can get a bad pair of headsets, mice and keyboards not just from roccat(most likely) but from steelseries(likely) and razer(not likely) and apparently i bought the best pair of kave because i dont have any problems realy and the sound quality is realy amanzing btw i use 24bit 192000Hz i have the volume of windows set to 9 and in-game i can ear every litle detail
I agree, every brand will have some bad ones pass through manufacturing and quality control. My objection is not to their quality.
The important thing, as a result of the fact every company has a few lemons make it to consumers, is how they deal with those problems. I would have no problem if they dealt with the problem, but my experience shows they do not support their product even when it has manufacturing defects. That is the mark of a bad company to stay away from.
If the stuff was still under warranty (depending on your country, f.e. if it is part of the EU that it is at least 2 years if I remember correctly) they should have at least replaced it.
Also depending on how you bought it you could have asked for example at the physical shop for help on dealing with this issue or ask Roccat how to fill a complaint form if they insisted in not complying with their legal obligations.
I'm in North America and no company here sells Roccat products, so I had to buy it from a Euro company selling on eBay. They wouldn't take it back after 7 days. Since it occurred 5-6 months after, I was out of luck with them. I tried Roccat, and they told me my only option was to return it to where I bought it. IDK about Europe, but absolutely no business here will take a return 6 months after purchase. I told Roccat they wouldn't take it back, and they just said sorry.
Got screwed over in that one, in my opinion anyway. I really liked those headphones (comfortable and GREAT positioning, sound quality was mediocre but I only used them for CS anyway), but I'm not willing to risk throwing away more money on a Roccat product.
edit found the email (you can see he even acknowledges it's a defect in the headphones):
Thanks for choosing ROCCAT.
It sounds like a hardware defect. You can exchange the Kave at the professional ebay seller you bought it from.
Feel free to write to me again, if anything is unclear or if you need further assistance.
Viele Grüße / Kind regards,
that's the thing you shouldn't have bought them outside your country, i'm sorry but it was your mistake because its always easier to get support of any brand when you buy things on a physical shop. but i'm saying that you're wrong about roccat's bad support it was your experience with them, maybe someone will say that is good like me because i delt with my roccat problems in the physical shop where i bought
Unfortunately 7 days is the max for an online shop to take it back. Still I don't see where this should affect the warranty on the other hand, that is for them to fix the headset. In that case it would be up to them to either fix it or send you a new one (especially since it is an hardware defect).
