fnatic plays a simple game - not as much for the IGL to think of.

the reason IGLs usally lowfrag is because they're in the left part of their brain because they think a lot (left part of the brain is the more analytical one, while the right side is the WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-part of the brain, which is better for aiming) and because they don't look for frags as much.

in fnatic this isn't the case tho as they simply have a different style of playing.

The "IGL myth" is still true.

I do not really agree. SK did play a simple game which is why they did not really need Robban in my opinion, but well... Fnatic doesn't play a simple game. Fnatic seems to be really good at adapting and countering opponents' tactics, a sure merit of a good IGL. Xizt does an outstanding job in my opinion and the fact that he doesn't forget to keep fragging makes him an unbelievable player. Carn will not be reached nonetheless.

The myth is that IGLs cannot frag / shouldn't frag. Well, fnatic always played a very simple game, it was not more complicated than this; how come cArn did poorly in frags and xist does well? Both ways work, I'm not saying that cArn didn't do his share, but I still call the myth a myth, unless you can explain that. I'd say that it more has to do with the role and style of the IGL.

And that brain thing is ridiculous. It makes very little difference. It's not like 4 players of the team are really active on the right side of the brain, the IGl on the left and thus frags poorly. Everyone thinks about as much at any given time, the IGl just has to think about other things and make calls and sometimes get distracted from fragging (but again, not a significant difference; again, look at carn/xist)

There are certain techniques to get in to the right side of the brain, try using those (they are in the article) and you'll feel a huge difference. And if you think that everyone thinks about as much at any given time, you're either a really bad caller or have never played as one. Also, the aimers thinks how he will kill his opponents, the IGL thinks about that AND what his whole team should be doing, moneystatus, etc etc.

I'm a IGL myself, I won't rate my own skill, that's up to others - but I can tell you that I play twice as good aimwise when i'm not calling and that I don't think nearly as much.

I saw the video three times when it came out, and I have read the article. I have also been an igl (we 16-0d a top 5 team on playnation at the end of the season and then immidiately got banned for nationality some months ago and pretty much stopped playing actively then), for me it never made a difference since I still played an aggressive role.

The guy in the article is just describing bad days and good days, there is definitely such a thing but I think the real reason is momentum and loss of momentum, not because your hand-and-eye coordination is magically "just right" because your brain activity increased on the right side (which sounds awesome, but in my experience has never been the case; when i'm feeling happy (success->endorfins) I play well, when I'm feeling miserable, I play poorly (not because I just did math).

Since we aren't neuroscientists or anything it may be pointless to take the discussion further without wild speculations I refuse to make this into an argument; this was just my take!

Probably explains why you seem to aim better when you focus more on getting the other person, you expect them to show up so you feel it out rather than wonder where he's going next. I tend to aim less precise when not concentrated, which I guess explains the right side of the brain more.

(Also why talking on the phone or something is complicated in middle of a round lol)

nowadays pro scene cs , dont need the tipical "bot" cap , that is only there to make the 4 players run the strats , if the players are developed in tactical terms , he can assume killing roles easily , thats whats happen now in fnatic
