The top players will go where the money is. It will be really difficult to convince tournaments to overlook Valve's baby in favor of a player made mod (they certainly won't use both). Hopefully it can be done but I am skeptical.

I agree with the other person. Games backed by Valve tend to do well, and if they are aiming for the competitive scene with this one, they will probably take it, whether there is a better game on the market or not.

It's beta, not everyone can play it. and most people are just sticking with 1.6/source until they know for certain on whether or not this game will work out. Dota and Starcraft are firstly completely different games, but both had followers from a practically dead scene. So most of the players switched as soon as it was released, whereas with CS, the 1.6 scene is still pretty large, and it will take a lot longer for the players to switch over.
I also think most of the CS 1.6 scene are being childish and not watching the events, and constantly whining about CS:GO (like yourself), instead of realising that with or without you, CS:GO will be the future, as 1.6 is indefinitely dying :(

We're not childish, we just dislike the game and aren't interested. This is the reason why it has few viewers, correct, people don't care.

Firstly, I don't even like CS:GO, I think it's possibly worse than source. That doesn't mean I'm going to sit here crying and calling it nasty names. CS 1.6 is dieng, CS:GO is the only realistic option for people that want to carry on in the counter-strike genre competitively. That's as simple as I can put it. If you still don't get it, come back when your a bit older and re-read this conversation.

I don't understand the logic of supporting a game for it's name only. CS:GO has nothing in common with 1.6 except the name and the format so I don't see any reason at all to support it for the name of Counter-Strike living on if I dislike the game, and neither should any selfthinking humanbeing.

The game use Source Engine. Source graphics aren't ugly at all. I like it. The matter is gameplay and it's very good for sure.

They work on custom textures. As far as I know blackaddR already revamped dust2 (no pictures released yet).
csp_aztec is full of custom made textures. In my opinion it looks great (waaaaay better than CSS aztec).

I still remember lurppis saying in an interview that "CS:GO is garbage and it will remain garbage" , so hltv users stop saying they go after the money , I personally like lurppis as a player/person for beeing honest and saying the truth about that shitty game.

i do prefer csp im also following the csp site like daily these days :) i know that csp can be ported on the latest engine but still that would be time consuming considering the circumstances. It's sad that no sponsors picked up csp to finance it :S i started playing cs from 1.3 and onwards so believe me i did wait and then i got source... and now i am supposed to wait for cs:go...hell no! relase 1.09 or i'll break something 0_- :)

Because a game is free doesn't make it any more or less suspectable to hackers because there will always be non steam 1.6 and non steam CSS and you can guarantee there will be a non steam CSGO, and most the people who use hacks are non steam.
Look at TF2 its free to play yet , getting rid of cheaters is as simple as i said , having a good community and admins.
Having a great hacker hating admin team is the best and most solid proof anti cheat system you can have.

Use higher resolution. It's not the GoldSrc anymore. Low resolutions don't bring any advantage in the source engine (unless you can't get 100 fps).

is .09 out? i have been playing a bit of .08 and my main concern is the sound isnt as great as 1.6. but on the flip side i would say the movement in CSP is slightly better
