Why 1.6 is so fucking NO POPULAR in Asia region?
I know there are very popular games like mmorpg (pw,L II,etc.) and ofc Dota + Starcraft
but why not even 1 good fps shooter?

It is very popular...Just that we dont have so many international tournaments like you all have.

so do u actually know why ur organisation dont support 1.6?
they not create tournaments, not paid money for some random players to make them training, dont have a sponsor for 1.6,dont paid for travel in Europe for some tournament or bootcamp, don buy a GOOD SERVER to training with EU/US players...why THEY DO NOTHING FOR 1.6? Is it really old for them and they prepher to support modern games like sc2,dota2 and mmorpg ?

lets be realistic, Gaming is just way too casual even for a person in Europe :( Even my parents don't understand it fully .. But there are some ppl in Europe who see something in gaming and try to make something happen.... Here the big companies prefer other ways to market than through E_sports and Tournaments as the population is too huge in india and product will reach the ears very soon... But unlike in Europe where any big gathering is a good source of advertisement... I may be wrong.. but as far as i know.. they don't even consider something called Gaming as a field.. they rather advertise through theatres, malls etc :) Have fun bro.

u mean Asia poor?
if u r:
I dont think so.I mean yes,may be some countries in Asia have troubles with it,but NOT China(more then 2000000000 people) and Japan 100%
may be that's why only China have some world teams (tyloo) but it's obviously not enough ( Asia have only 1 named team nowadays, which not even in top20 in the world)
Sad but true,So I just ask asian : "why? do u actually know?"
btw In Asia,as I said they SUPPORT A SC1,2 AND DOTA1,2 SO MUCH...AND that's why there are so many players in this games,so
I dont think that the problem is money...

That is what I am saying . NO BIG SPONSORS. All the companies have enough teams sponsored already :(... See sponsoring a team is a lot... Atleast 200$ per money salary for each guy + Travel sponsors and money for practicing at LAN center.. its a lot of money to invest in advertising at an unknown field according to them... or rather a scopeless field according to them.

Tyloo

lol csp will cause world war 3. csp new death prediction system and updated net code will allow all the racist kids from all over the world to finally play on different international servers and duke it out with no lag. they can finally claim their country is best. prepare yourself for all the shit talking lol.
2012-07-31 19:51:58
wat dafuq r u talkin about?
2012-07-31 19:54:18
communication is driven through media. media gets around fast through the internet. websites such as reddit, 4chan, etc. gets news around faster than your local tv station. in the past, pc games real bottleneck is internet speed and connections. now that internet speed and connections are getting faster and netcodes are getting better, gamers can finally play with other gamers located in other countries with little lag. no more usa playing with usa kids or europe with europe kids. csp will bring all the gamers to the yard. the indian kids on here will finally be able get their revenge on the kids here who were racist and talked shit about them.
csp has their new death prediction and updated net code where you can play with 400ms ping with almost no lag. scrimmage will easily be an international thing where you can play in the comfort of your home; and that's where you'll see a lot of racism. If you ever played Ultima Online back in the old school days, you'll understand what i mean lol.

Because those rubbish online FPS games that made by Korean for example Crossfire, Blackshot, Sudden Attack etc all of these make them low skill to play in CS 1.6 and use cash money to own others
In Asia FPS Games Market,
Skill requirement: LOW
Money requirement: HIGH

They care about their real life
2012-08-01 12:15:48
I think it's because our geographical state.
Cost too much to send a team to international event, high ping to compete continentally, etc.
Poor? I dont think so. But seems like there's less people here that want to invest their money into esport cause they dont think its worth it.

small events happens we have some but they are only limited to players within the country inviting an international team n conducting an international event requires money n as there is no sponsors that cant happen but that doesnt mean 1.6 is not popular every single kid here of age 13 n above knows 1.6 plays 1.6. we have hundreds of online server people here play just for fun.. but they do play everyday more than 10 hrs.
2012-07-31 17:50:15
I think it's still the same.
Let's say there's a tourney with 20k pot prize with 10-12.5k given to the winner. Imagine if a team from eu want to participate they would need to spend around 10k (or 1.5-2k/person) and of course if they won it, all their travel expense would be covered by the prize money. Its not the case if they lose early or even if they managed themself to get 2nd or 3rd place, I dont think they would get any profit from the event.
From the business view, I dont think there's any organization want to risk their money for it.
And it's not just Asia, it's all the same within US or even EU.. only big teams are sending their teams to compete abroad (continentally).

bener banget bro, belom lagi masalah mental...jago dikit jadi belagu (nggak semua), kalo daftar turney liat ada famous, nxl ama xcn udah ciut ditambah dikotak kotakin rookie ama pro, kalo soal high ping sih level1 binus mau tuh nyediain bandwith seberapapun gedenya

exactly... it will cost too much to send some players on a trip to europe to play there. we dont have organisations sponsors this needs money which no one is willing to invest in.

Let's say lack of international experience and bad net connection is the cause. But yeah, no doubt the skill gap is so big. One of our best player even said this "even if you know where his position, you just cant kill neo without being killed" lol

I will tell about the thing about india which i believe...
In India, lan gaming is possible but nobody(most of guys) is ready to skip his study because of lan gaming.
and for net-gaming, in all the net providing service the speed is not so good as in the european countries have. So, lagging is the biggest problem i have ever faced in my country.

we do like to play online gaming but in india we got very deprived resources for that..:)
very few people got chances to be to make their way in online-gaming prospect compared to the whole population of india...:)

yeah dude, in inter-college, intra-college or in city tournaments we participate but we cant go at different place for tournaments.
just for my example,
in my college there is rule of 80% strict attendance. If there is not 80% attendance in class then i will not be able to sit in exam and i will be failed.
so, that is the problem in lan-tournaments and there is a lot lagging in net-tournaments.

2012-08-01 11:47:11
The main problem is the internet bandwidth issue, we are restricted to our country only. We cant have an aisa-wide online tournament. Also, due to we being restricted to our country only, our skill level hits a stagnant point. This being the reason for our not-so-good performances at international tournaments. So bad results lead to no sponsors :( .
Also, as far as India is concerned, we have CS 1.6 as the major fps game. We dont even know what CS:O is!

You should know 2 things.
1st - It's very difficult to asians to practice with other teams around the world. (Cuz of latency & delay problem). Which means that it is hard for us to LEVEL UP, or something like that.
2nd - It is extremely expensive to sponsor a team to travel abroad for some European tournaments, despite the fact that they have 5% of winning.
So far only TyLoo made it that far.
SO why WCG and stuff that hosted in ASIA don't feature CS1.6 anymore ? Because there are other games that they have more chance of winning than CS 1.6

In my country, CS is very popular.
everyone including new generation kids know CS .
you know what the cool part is?
they don't play CS and think it this way:
"CS 1.6(not CS:O) is the most difficult FPS game in Indonesia, yes it is old but any CS 1.6 player will be able to play other FPS game and become VERY SKILLED in short amount of time. CS 1.6 is for very skilled gamers and CS 1.6 player is very competitive."
our new generation kid admit that CS 1.6 is a very difficult game and no other fps game has come close to match with 1.6's skillgap. SO MUCH WIN.

in India there are lots n lots of 1.6 players.Few of them are very talented and mainly theres no support from parents or community. Gaming in india is considered as time waste[Personal exp :P]. People dont know how big e-sports is and people find it funny if your starting a career in the field of gaming.
@ Max we have some inter college tourneys which have very less prize money and you wont be able to get gears from that money and few good lan event countable by fingers and No Sponsors,Latency probs,No International Exposure, at max we get to see the POVs of other Pro players.
This is gonna change with time and maybe by that time i would be doing some job but i would love to see the change happening .
Cheers :]

The main thing is Indian Parents hate esports...
They never support...
They want their kids to become so called fucking engineer or doctor.. But not an esports player...

1.6 in Indonesia is still very popular game, in my country when I heard 1.6 has been dropped many of us may retire and sad because in my country our goal is to get to Europe, but many of us still play Counter Strike 1.6 in Indonesia does not have a sponsor to play in euro area. in my country there are many local tournament, but not up to the outside of asia. so if you drop your Counter Strike 1.6 on the grounds in Asia are less interested I think it is in fact not an reason.

in israel same.. nobody really care about tournaments in 1.6 however everyone is playing here only 1.6 and this game most popular in our country. And Until we have a tournament(one in a year or two years) the prize money sucks i mean really low :\
