This is something REALLY apropriate for competitive play, and it looks good too.
1) Maps are clean (very important)
2) recoil isn't broken in CSP, it requires skill (very important)
3) movement is good, jump / duck and strafe are working the right way for competitive play, it requires skill to move faster and dodge bullets ( very important)
4) bullet reg, accuracy is very good in CSP
5) hud is clean, modern, and looks good
6) player models are correctly scaled (not too big, making headshots easier, just like in css)
7) weapon models are good
8) sounds are good (there is 1.6 sounds)
9) gameplay is much closer to 1.6 than anyother game available
10) granades are working the right way, very balanced and good
11) flashes are working the right way, not too overpowered just like in css
12) spamming is there (very important skill factor)
And the list goes on... All of that is superior in CSP, when you compare it to CS:GO. CSP is a Counter-Strike game, designed to be good for competitive play.
There is absolute no reason to play CS:GO (an inferior game) when we have CSP just arround the corner.
I can only see CSP taking over the scene, not CS:GO.
CSP is a way better game than CS:GO. History books told us a similar story with 1.6 vs Source. We all know how that ended... They tryed to 'force' people into Source (CGS, etc) but in the end, the better game won big time, and 1.6 dominated the scene for soooo long after CGS dies... Same story with CSP vs CS:GO... Valve and some events will try to 'force' people (the mercenary ones) into CS:GO, but it will fail just like Source failed, and CSP will be the future. The better and more adequate game for competitive play will always wins, and it was 1.6, and not its CSP.
We should really boycott CS:GO... No one should buy that game, in fact, I believe by the end of the month, we will see CS:GO with very low numbers on steam, probably even lower than 1.6... and it will probably stay like that. Like people pointed out, its just an inferior version of the game, why would people buy it? If Valve give us a GOOD game, we will play it, but if they give us CRAP, we will boycott it, thats how it should be, and this time they are giving us CRAP with CS:GO...
If this piece of shit 1.6 community had any fucking brains they would realise 3 years ago this is the end of 1.6.
Everything about Promod the ignorant CS1.6 just dissed it(AHHAHAHAH PROMOD FAIL CS 1.6 FOREVERRZZZZZ) before trying it and now look at them all 1.6 is dead and your looking for something to replace it and its CSP.
Well guess what its too late you guys should of got behind CSP a long time ago because now Valve has bought out ESWC WCG etc to help promote their shit game CSGO as a "competitive game" you will see on the advertisements of CSGO that Valve will claim this is the number 1 competitive FPS game.
Dont blame anyone but yourself you hated on CSP, if you guys jumped on board 3 years ago this game would of update 1.09 years ago because the team would of had support.
What kind of support? The majority of the German CS community was already positive towards CSP in 2010 (release of 1.04).
The previous versions just got too much game-breaking stuff and that's why most people switched back to 1.6 after some weeks (e.g the invisible smokes in 1.08). The game was still inferior to 1.6. But now it seems like it became a worthy replacement for 1.6. I played the 1.09 Alpha and actually that was the first version I would prefer over 1.6 (played all version from 1.04 upwards).
I just read trough the comments on the news and articles about CSP on readmore, HLTV, gotfrag and cadred. I don't see any way how a more positive feedback would have speed up the project. The only thing that may helped would have been a higher and stable player number, but that's not the communities fault, it's just the fact that CSP wasn't ready to be a legit alternative to CS 1.6 and CSS at that time.
I wasn't a big fan of csp but I can't deny that it looks really nice and I'd rather watch a competitive csp match than CS:GO. However, csp needs exposure because only a small fraction of 1.6 players will actually play it when released. CSP needs to somehow advertise it and I'm sure many would choose it over CS:GO because its f2p. So I guess I still can't see it going big but I really hope it will.
CSP was fucking shit 3 - 2 years ago. Today, CSP evolved and is better, but 1.6 is superior to it. If 1.6 is no more, CSP is a waaaaay better replacement for it, than CS:GO. Thats it, there is no more, it has nothing to do with the 1.6 community, its just that CSP project took YEARS AND YEARS, that was the problem.
The hitboxes are not better in 1.6 if you play lower resolution. It's just that many players are used to playing with it from the old days, and new players use it cause many pro's play low reso.
Dosia plays with 1024, and he is clearly one of the best players in the world. If 640 or 800 would give such an advantage, don't you think he would use that?
OMFG whats the problem of pro scene dying?!
for what you do this blogs/threads... you still can play the fking 1.6 and enjoy it...in ukraine there are still LANs,night cups...
just play the fking game and stfu... omg
just by saying that csp is good wont make that IEM,WCG and other tournaments will take it... 1.6 has a huge community in terms of fps games, and still tournaments said no to it,why they will say yes to csp?
lol csp will cause world war 3. csp new death prediction system and updated net code will allow all the racist kids from all over the world to finally play on different international servers and duke it out with no lag. they can finally claim their country is best. prepare yourself for all the shit talking lol.
