You might want to set your CS cache settings to match with your ram.
I can't remember the launch parameter.

Mind to show us your screenshot of task manager and expanded tray icon?(on the right bottom side to see your idle processes)

Turn off some Windows aero effects. Your GPU is low
2012-08-01 22:05:38
turned off aero also but didnt help !do u think it could be something related to any script of d steam version of cs1.6??coz d non steam version gives 100 fps even wid d same video n laptop settings??
2012-08-01 22:30:53

Any programmes running in the background ?
2012-08-01 22:22:15
just steam !!and nothing else
2012-08-01 22:31:36
Try reinstalling, Check Vsync if off even though i doubt it is the problem but just check it.

hmm,I had similar problem with steam, before you play cs,try to push on COMMUNITY,not STORE and leave it,and then try to go in cs. ( http://gigapple.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/steam_.. )
2012-08-01 22:41:52

Are you serious?
2012-08-02 14:47:23
nope xD
2012-08-02 14:54:21
dude .... there are 3 solutions /...

1. Go library -> counter strike -> right click -> properties -> launch options -> enter command "-dx 90"

2. Maybe problem due to defragmentation, registry errors or incorrect installation. Download Advanced system care and go for full care. Meanwhile, defragment ur cs 1.6.

3. Maybe u r not using ur gfx card. Type in console "r_mmx 1". This will enable gfx card use.

2012-08-02 11:44:53
your computer is getting hot thats why its dropping down in fps.

ok so i checked d gpu temperature it is around 60 degrees C but when i start cs1.6 it rises up to 77-78 degrees c!!Is that too much of heating up??Or is that normal??
2012-08-02 17:04:36
Check the temperature of your graphic card (f. e. via SpeedFan). Maybe it overheats and because of that FPS drop.

2012-08-02 17:04:22
:O of course its heating up.(normal is 50C-60C)
for cs it should never exceed 60C
and due to that the graphic card automatically resets to safe settings(i.e. low GPU clock, and low memory frequency) to prevent damage to the card.
I think this is the cause of your low fps.

btw did your overclock your GPU in any case?
2012-08-02 17:25:26
If you have passive cooling on your graphic card, it's ok. But if you have air-cooled card, it's too high temperature. I think the cooling pad should help.

no it is really hot, for normal use it should be around 35
2012-08-02 20:24:50
No. Not sure if trolling or just stupid.

60 °C is absolutely OK. Most of graphics cards are designed to 120 °C but this temperature is really too high and this card won't live too long.

Hey can any1 tell me if fps and ping are interrelated in any way??as in a poor ping leading to a low fps or vice versa??
2012-08-02 17:13:46
somehow but low ping relates to packet errors
2012-08-02 19:36:09
no
