Monitor Hz question!
I got an LG LCD Flatron L1953S and trough ATI Catalyst driver, I can force it to over 75. Now I got 75, if I force it to 80+ it will work better or I risk to blew it off?

Is 75 ok?

Yes. I have LG Flatron E2260 (75hz)
In tournaments there are 75hz LCD monitors (mostly)

Nope. You unticked "Don't show values that this monitor can't display" (or something like that). You still have 60/75/85 or whatever is maximum on your monitor.
2012-08-02 01:01:20
this monitor can display 120 hz max on 1024*768 resolution.

That is not the point. The point is that you can't choose monitor frequency that monitor can't support. It will automatically set itself to maximum possible or default frequency.

i know that but i got straight into the main point, you can mesure your monito's real hz with that tool http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1423433

not really, i forced it to 120Hz and my monitor got fucked up, had to format my pc
2012-08-01 22:13:16
can really be that bad? good that i didnt try that with my lcd,but i buy crt for 10e now its ok :D
2012-08-01 22:36:46
it can be, maybe that happened for me because I forced it too much (75 hz max)
2012-08-01 22:56:53
Bullshit, your monitor wont break - just ignored the 120Hz signal and showed you black - reboot -> F8 -> safe mode -> set correct setting -> reboot -> fixed
2012-08-02 02:11:04
yes, found out that after formatting my pc lol

You can't make your monitor work on a frequency above it's maximum.
2012-08-01 22:16:48
If your monitor's Max Frequency is 75 and you try to force it into more, i think it may get damaged or it won't work at all, anyway, don't try it since in both cases it will not work.
2012-08-01 22:19:54
u cannot force a frequency on a lcd monitor, you're monitor is able to support 75hz max, if u try to set up 85hz you will get black screen that's all

I was mad cuz the players @ IHL were playing like bitches, they were all in lobby and waiting for CT's grenades and they only care about their scores, I hate this kinda play style
