Why do they have to do this. I love hackers like Anonymous, they do heplful things, but this is just how an asshole acts.

maybe he got too much broken mice from them :D
2012-08-01 23:39:51
be careful u never know... u could be the next one!
2012-08-01 23:49:58
who cares. they're still some nolifers living in their mothers basement
2012-08-02 00:03:21
They are still available to hack u ^_^
2012-08-02 03:17:11
Sure.. But they still disgust me.
People who do that stuff in their spare time is either in deep struggle for attention, or just needs to prove something in their life.
Sure they might attack me, but I wouldn't care. I would just think about my own life, and theirs.. and then just smile:)
2012-08-02 03:41:21
Sometimes they do it for the "lulz", They can easily fill their pocket with money, after that they use to terrify people and websites.
2012-08-02 04:05:36
They do it for the lulz because they have absolutely no life and nothing else to do.
People shouldn't be terrified by them.. that's what feeds them
2012-08-02 04:22:03
there's huge chances that capable programmer to read the comment you made and start breaching through server to get into your account and humiliate yourself.
2012-08-02 11:56:57
I have nothing against "capable programmers" just kids like that ss hacker;)
2012-08-02 13:29:19
my point is it takes alooottt of skill and learning in year to be able to "hack" into small stuff.
it's not something a kid could learn overnight.

risking to crack a company's account is a huge responsibility, no kids would do that.

you know the responsibility of what you do as a cracker.
tell me which kids spend 6 months learning multiple programming language, computer connection in multiple layers, datagram internet and secure encryption technique and packets even tracing/modifying Internet Protocol just to crack some random annoying company with huge risk of getting caught.

If I was him I wouldn't do that even if I hate steelseries so much .
Too much stuff to consider for.
unless he's really good
2012-08-02 16:40:56
I agree with you completely
But this guy seems like an amateur
2012-08-02 17:52:04
once i got hacked by a guy who said it was his job to hack random ppl..
2012-08-02 19:07:03
who? Chuck Norris?
2012-08-03 19:46:10

2012-08-01 23:26:52
lol, youtube can do a backup, no problem, or no?
2012-08-01 23:33:18
i don't know ;]
2012-08-01 23:45:37
I think he are fucking kid who have free day from school and nothing to do
wtf :>
http://imagekorner.com/yx.png wtf..
2012-08-01 23:48:18
But if they kid, how he did this? I think SS was a good password. Maybe this is manipulation from SteelSeries ;D ?
2012-08-01 23:55:15
Don't kidding me haha, 1. he don't know password he hacked to the mail :>
2012-08-02 00:36:00
hacking is not like "lol my friend forgot to log out his facebook password account let's hack it. *update status* I'm hacking @someone profile".
There's lot of technique to get access to server's database such as PHP injection if there's flaws in the website(however PHP injection is simply flaw made by newbie web programmer) that doesn't require password.
hacking is not always about knowing someone else's password.

the highest chances are careless Steelseries staff logged in Steelseries account on some random internet cafe/hotspots and wireshark-ed.

2012-08-02 17:50:04
hacking isn't that easy. you have to learn multiple programming language as well as decrypting packets(if you're using connection tapping) or using backdoor trojan software that use idle port to transfer information such as cookies and password.
higher chances are the person who did this are a white collar.

Do you think Google is dumb enough to not encrypt there product's email and password and send it to a anonymous network? All major site's cridentials are salted+ encrypted with there own encryption codes so its almost next to impossible to decrypt it.

In this case, either that group used a 0-day exploit OR steelseries staff was just dumb(which i don't think is possible).
2012-08-02 16:14:07
that's not the case.
like what I said, there might be careless Steelseries staff that log into email in hacked/connection tapped network such as public hotspots or trojan-ed computer which records every computer typing.
it's not rare to find one in places like LAN cafe.
in case if that happens, encryption is meaningless because it happens inside the internal network.

No.

SteelSeries staff isn't dumb enough to login on an unsecure network/Computer. And even if one joins unsecured network then too, password and email is encrypted which can't be decrypt if you don't know exact encryption code.

Either there's some 0-day exploit available in Google or as you said it was steelseries's fault which i highly doubt isn't true.

he was using tor, which is kinda lame for such for a HOLY SHIT SPECIAL hax0r... If he wanted more security he should have bought a good vpn

2012-08-02 00:43:43
They can trace when you use TOR? I thought it was 100% anonymous, but I never used it , don't know.
2012-08-02 01:54:37
afaik they can't track you through TOR. It's like 100% anon. I don't know exactly but you share everything through other users. VPNs aren't 100 % companies that made them still can show logs and track you down easily.
2012-08-02 02:53:16
you can use multiple computer to get into database by using trojan.
these trojan run in your computer and use your internet connection to do requst to server and resend the reply to the main computer.
these are like decease, one infected computer could infect another one.
These computer infected by Trojan are called zombies. these zombies use open port(the one like CS use for exm 27015) to simply share information until it reach hosts.
who knows maybe your computer gets infected? the next hour police officer might knock your door because your IP is traced on the logs.
oops.
2012-08-02 12:07:44
We are talking about TOR....
2012-08-02 14:07:05
my point is TOR is traceable, let's say that the the highest govemerment's authority(FBI's/CIA's) request the trace log they'll give it to them no matter how secured the trace log is.
it's different story if you're using a virus called trojan to directly command a victim computer(called zombie).
whatever the hacker(actually he's a cracker, hacker doesn't crack) do, the logs and trace proof that it's victim's doing :p
2012-08-02 16:33:24
TOR is completely annonymous, and hacking a youtube account is hardly HOLT SHIT SPECIAL lawl :)
2012-08-02 12:27:01
i was just joking about that holy shit special hax0r lol, he is just a script kiddie

2012-08-02 02:44:49
That's all work of some nerd considering this as some "challenge" to hack something. Thats just way for total nerds to have fun. (Hackers aren't only nerds some guys making that way money some guys trying to bring revolution. This hacking make sense atleast but hacking because I have nothing to do is highest level of faggotory)

afaik youtube can backup to some date videos or SS should have backup somewhere too.
2012-08-02 02:58:38

Haha, wasted such a nice 0-day exploit for random fun.

PS: TOR is tracable.
PSS: YouTube does store a backup for all the videos.

If they track you when you're using TOR they would track you with any other VPN anyway...
2012-08-02 16:15:20
if i want some videos i deleted and want them back, who should i contact?
2012-08-02 16:30:38

Haha, my one friend work in Google India and he said they do keep a backup of every video for a time period.

If you've contact with any Google employee or by any other means then you can get your data back easily but the reason must be genuine- in this case account hijack.
2012-08-03 20:03:05
more than 500 videos? 55 u mean
2012-08-02 16:04:04
