Monitor
I just got a new graphiccard (GeForce GT 630) for a couple of days ago.
I'm using Samsung SyncMaster 959NF.
I used ATI Radeon 4650 before i bought the new one.
I used 120hz in-game.
Now i can't with this new graphiccard.
It only runs 75 ingame (by testing -freq XXX)

Why?

Can you set your monitor frequency via nVidia drivers?

yea same thing

Uhm… Try some programs to change the number of Hertz. You can find some on famous and useful webpage by satanioN (http://www.satanion.dk/cs/ – section „Hertz“).

This happend to me acouple of days ago when i was trying to update my nvidia drivers, for my oldie 9600GT.

We both have CRT monitor, so when you are installing the new drivers avoid installing 3D things (This actually helped me) and thats all :)

First of all, don't install the 3d drivers, they are crap. Second, try making a custom resolution with that hertz e.g 640x480 @120hz

Go to nvidia settings, lower ur resolution and u will be able to keep 120hz .. i think 1024X in nvidia drivers wil have 120hz

Open up your computer and see if there is a switch on the graphic card. I had this little switch there which prevented me getting full 120 hz out of my monitor.

Be sure you use correct cable because not all cables are able put out 120hz.
2012-08-06 12:07:13
120Hz works only in DVI cables: http://tinyurl.com/2ujc2y
and VGA cables support a max of 75Hz : http://tinyurl.com/37k8o5x
be sure ur using a DVI rather than a VGA

Man.
Delete your driver and install 296.10 version and all will be good. On XP you don't need it.
